Jay Robb Whey Protein...what do I do

Ok everyone, I'm a noobie to this Whey Protein thing, I've had a couple packets for a few months now but haven't used them. What do you do with them? Just mix them with water? Use them in baking? I brought a chocolate one to work and I'm going to mix the first one with water I think (I forgot to prepare my food and have to have something in my stomach so I'm going to try this). I thought I had seen some people use them in baking and egg creams and I'm just looking for ideas in case I like them.

Usually you mix it with 8oz of water and blend... then drink it. I did his 3 day fat flush...well attempted to... I got through the first day and lost 3lb but couldn't do the next two days of fruit/vegetables....


I'm not sure other ways you can use it though.... but it tastes ok as a shake...

I loved the Jay Robb vanilla shake mix - I added 1/4 cup of heavy cream and 3/4 cup water, a handful of ice cubes and a little s/f caramel syrup - delicious in the blender.

I didn't like the chocolate as much - seemed thin on taste.

I make an egg cream for a craving or meal replacement. I would use 2 whole eggs and double the rest for meal replacement.

put in blender

one egg
one egg white
1 scoop whey powder
1 oz cream
1 oz cream cheese
2 cups crushed ice

optional
tablespoon chia, hemp, or flax
tablespoon flavored surup
1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum

Doughnut Holes! These are so good! I'm sorry I don't know who's recipe this is. I copied it and tweaked it for myself. I use Vanilla Jay Robb Whey Protein Powder. Here's the recipe:

Doughnut Holes

1 large egg
1/4 cup melted butter
Sweetener to taste, if needed
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (1/3 cup)
Coconut oil

Topping:
Sweetener & cinnamon

Taste and texture-wise, these fall somewhere in between true doughnuts and funnel cakes. They cook very fast, so make sure you have everything on hand!

Heat about 1 inch of oil in a heavy skillet until it's hot enough for frying. While the oil heats, beat the egg lightly with the melted butter, then add the protein powder, and vanilla. Taste and add sweetener if you want it sweeter. I find the Jay Robb Vanilla sweet enough.

Whisk together until all the lumps are pretty much broken up, then let it rest a minute or two and whisk a bit more (batter will still have a grainy look to it, but that's fine).

Using a large tablespoon or serving spoon, drop the batter by large tablespoonfuls into the hot oil in batches of 4.
Fry until bottoms are golden-brown, which will only take a few seconds, then flip.
Drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with sweetener and cinnamon to taste and serve hot.

Makes about 8-12 doughnut holes

I've got chocolate and Vanilla. I think I'm going to try the vanilla first though.

Coconut oil is very good for you and good for high heat frying. You can use any oil but I wouldn't use olive oil because it's not good for high heat and it's got it's own taste.

I've never tried the chocolate powder. Please let us know how it tastes!

Well, I only bought 2 sample packs at GNC because I noticed the name when I was walking out the door. Everyone on here always talks about it so I grabbed the package and compared it to all the other brands and it's way way low in carbs. The one I have infront of me is chocolate, it's got 1g of carbs per serving, which is one packet, I assume 1 scoop, or 30g. Calories-110, fat-0, sugars-0.

All the other ones I seen are very very carby, can't remember the counts off hand.

Yes, Jay Robb is only 1 carb and uses whey, not soy and they sweeten it with Stevia. Those are the reasons I buy it. I stay away from soy and other sweeteners like Aspartame and Splenda.

Flip flops- The only place I've ever seen it here was at GNC. The individual packets were between 1.50-2.00 I believe but the larger bags are between 24-35 dollars for 12 oz.

I didn't get a chance to try the recipe last night, it was a long long day and I was too tired to cook.

I made the doughnuts finally


Those are made with Vanilla Whey protein, they were awesome.

I also made some yesterday with chocolate whey protein and they are ok, I just really hate splenda, which is what I topped them with. I'm thinking they would make really good cream puffs, and I want to get some HWC and fill them and freeze them.

I checked last night and Kroger sells the containers for $20.19 each. Not sure if that is a good price or not... I thought they used to have them for $17 but I guess they either went up, or I was wrong... which, the 2nd is probably the most correct. LOL
