Tortilla chips?

Has anyone fried or microwaved low carb tortillas into chips? Can you give me some pointers or let me know how it worked? TIA

I took low carb tortillas...cut them with my pizza cutter and then baked them in my NUWAVE until crisp...for me it was full power for probably 8-10 minutes. I'm not sure what the translates into as far as baking in a conventional oven, but it can be done. And they were very very good.

I do this a lot in the microwave and dh likes them fried. Timing in the microwave really depends on whether you cut them or not and the power of your microwave. I think I do mine for a minute but you have to watch carefully!

I checked my NUWAVE.... the power level 10 (which I use for tortillas) is the equivalent of 350 degrees in the oven....8-10 minutes. That is where I'd start.

Good Luck.

I like to take the Joseph's lavish flat bread to make tortilla chips. I also use them to make taco salad bowls. At work, I have the "access" to be able to fry them in grease. I like them best this way, but they do fry up REAL FAST!
In the oven, I have the best luck with spraying them with a butter spray, and tnem baking.
Mission makes a low-carb flour tortilla. If you can allow for the carbs, these are VERY YUMMY!!!! I have taken thse and cut into chips, fried them, and placed in a bag with splenda and cinnamon, and shaken them to coat. Just like the old days, when "mom" had leftover pie crust scraps and gave it to us kids.

Yep, love to take the low carb wraps and fry them. They get really crunch, and are great for scoping up dips, or just munching on plain.
