Great 0 Carb Meat Marinade!!!!

Before doing LC I would buy this marinade and it's so good! I found it at Walmart and thought I'd share this with my lobby friends! BTW, I bought the Mesquite BBQ one. Enjoy!

Claude's Famous BBQ Brisket

1 large, lightly trimmed beef brisket (10 to 12 pounds)
1 16 oz. bottle Claude's BBQ Brisket Sauce

Marinate brisket in a plastic bag with Claude's BBQ Brisket sauce (2 ounces per pound of meat). Marinade in refrigerator overnight about 10 hours or longer. Place brisket in a roaster pan with the fat side up, and pour the sauce over it. Seal pan with foil or with tight lid. Cook in slow oven at 300 for 45 minutes per pound, about 6 hours. Remove from oven and cool, cut off fat, slice or shred meat. The sauce can be used as a natural gravy, remove fat from sauce by cooling in refrigerator, fat will float to top and can be taken out easily.

Thanks so much for the great tip! I tried making the Diet Rite Cola bque sauce from the recipes section and it just didn't hit the spot - I'll definitely be trying this.

Here's another recipe using this Marinade. A couple more coming...

Claude's Beef Jerky

2 1/2 to 3 lbs. rump roast sliced into 1/4 inch strips
3 to 4 ounces of Claude's BBQ Brisket Sauce

Trim all the fat from the meat strips. Soak meat in marinade for a minimum of 2 hours. Remove excess liquid from meat by laying strips on paper towels before placing on dehydrator racks. Place strips on racks close together, but not overlapping each other. Dry meat in dehydrator at 125 degrees for approx. 16 hours (adjust time and temp. as needed). Yields about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. of some mighty fine jerky.

Herbed Grilled Trout With Claude's Sauce

1/2 cup Claude's Brisket Marinade Sauce
4 trout, cleaned
1/3 cup chopped fresh herbs, basil, thyme, dill or tarragon.
4 green onions, green and white thinly sliced lemon wedges chopped parsley

Generously brush each trout, inside and out with Claude's Marinade Sauce. Fill trout cavities with herbs and green onions. Grill or BBQ or oven, and garnish with lemon wedges and chopped parsley. Serves 4. Absolutely Delicious!

you do realize that this is not carb free. spices, vinegar, corn, sugar, molasses, onion garlic and pepper along with all the other stuff all have some carbs in them. it is only listed as zero carb on the bottle because of the serving size and FDA labeling laws that allow rounding down if for a manufacturers seving size is less then .5 grams.

the recomended serving size is 1 tablespoon so for that there is less then .5 grams of carbs. if the bottle ounces are fluid ounces and not weight ounces then it could have anywhere from just under 7.99 grams of carbs downward.

My husband had a multitude of body problems and nothing absolutely nothing handled his symptoms for very long if at all. I finally said "enough!" after years of blind alleys and doctors, nutritionists and spending thousands of dollars. Doing web research I found every one of his symptoms was under an allergy to MSG. He is now symptom free after 2 months. No more 'foggy mindedness' no more 'sleepiness after eating' no more 'post nasal drip' or 'bronchial cough', no more 'lack of deep sleep', no more 'tinnitus', no more feeling 'bad' after every meal.

My husband turned out to be allergic to MSG. It so peeves me that it's in almost everything and I mean everything including toothpaste. He had to throw away even his Tom's Toothpaste. Fortunately I remember my mom making everything from scratch... and there I go too.

Sorry for the rant but after I did research... MSG is scary stuff.
