How long is an open package of hotdogs good for?

I'm pretty good w/ food safety, but once I open a package of hotdogs, I always forget to toss the rest in the freezer.

How long are they good for once opened?

Almost, but not quite. I don't have exact dates, but you can def. tell when they've been in the frig too long. The pkg. gets watery and the dogs are kinda slimey. I know they last well over a week though. By the way, I just freeze the whole pkg. and pry off 1 or 2 with a butter knife - use it like a wedge. That way you don't have to wonder if they're good or bad.

Until they turn green or smell bad or get hard, lol! This only happens around here if they get lost in the fridge. I try to do the freeze thing too but I sometimes forget.

I googled yesterday and saw 1 week. I am sure mine are still okay but will try to remember to *freeze* them next time so I don't have to deal with wondering, LOL.

Thanks!
