Just got back from Whole Foods with a bag of Bob's Red Mill Coconut flour. I cannot wait to try this, I think it will be lunch today.

Using plastic wrap over the dough, I rolled it out smoothly. Baked for 20 minutes, topped with my pizza sauce, cooked chicken and bacon and Monterey Jack cheese and baked it again for about 10 to 15 min. My eldest son didn't know it was grain free until we told him after he was half-way through his lunch. Well done!
Jennifer:

I know this was a long time ago, but i came across this posting that mentioned that you make low sodium low carb home versions of things like Ranch dressing. Question. Are these included in your cookbooks available on Amazon? If not could you post some of your low sodium, low carb recipes. I must eat low sodium due to a medical condition and I also low carb, but find doing 2 of them together somewhat difficult. Your low sodium recipes seem like they would be a great help.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Zizi's crust tastes more like regular pizza crust to us. I like that it doesn't take so much cheese. I keep losing it too.

Thanks guys. I already have some almond flour, so all I need is coconut flour. I'm thinking mozzarella, basil, onion, and bacon as toppings.

Oh how I miss pizza...

Thanks for the recipe and for those who have been bumping this older thread. I don't think I ever saw it before today. I just made and ate it and I wanted to post my opinion.

No one I know would ever eat one of those and think it was regular pizza. I wish I hadn't had that in my head before I tried it. The almond flour/meal is very apparent, and there is a little graininess to the texture.

That being said, it held up well and I was able to pick it up and eat it like regular pizza. It looked nice after it was blind baked and I started to get a little excited. But if I had to rate this on a 0-10 scale, I would have to give it a 6.

I've never made the cauliflower crust type pizza yet, so I can't compare the two. But I'll make that other kind before I decide whether to make this one twice.

SO sorry your were disappointed! I haven't made one in a long time but it was a BIG hit, especially with the nonLC crowd. Did you include the coconut flour? It makes a HUGE difference in taste and texture.

My coco flour just arrived; I'll make one soon and report back. Also still shopping fora new digital camera for photos...

Yes, I made it to the exact recipe you provided. I clearly seem to be in the minority, so I wouldn't take it to heart. Maybe when you make it again, you can give a more exact measurement of the almond meal and the coconut flour. Maybe I didn't use enough coconut flour.

Will do! Still feel badly for your disappointment; it's otherwise been a winner.

Don't feel bad!!! I just always want to post my experience, especially when it differs from the majority of the other ones. Just keepin' it real, ya know? I appear to be the odd man out on this matter, so be happy! I look forward to your updated recipe details.

wow, i just made and posted about a pizza crust i made the other day and it was nearly identical to this one...i didn't even know this thread existed. lol!

i am def going to try brushing it with oil before baking....all my sauce soaked into the crust when i broiled the top. will the oilhelp keep that from happening?
