There's such an infinitesimal chance of illness from using raw eggs that I'd use them if I could. They're so much cheaper than the Egg Beaters type product, and there's no noticeable difference at all in the flavor and texture.

However, I have an impaired immune system, so I use the Egg Beaters. They cost so darned much, though, that I don't have shakes nearly as often as I would if I could use raw eggs.

Re Mocha Protein Shake

What a great idea of making 8 servings at once! I just hated to mix the single serving every morning. Thanks for figuring/working it out... it is so simple this way.

Thanks again,
Nikki

Nikki - your welcome! I'm with you, I didn't like mixing a single serve at a time either, this way is so much easier. I have another shake that I always keep mixed up in the 8 serving size, it's a peanut butter protein shake, if you want that one let me know. I will tell you though that it has peanut butter powder and flax seed meal, don't know if you have those things on hand.

Tweaker Geek,
Hope this goes thru... I not very good at quoting and highlighting on this board.

Yes, I would like the recipe for the peanut butter shake. Could you write it up for a single serve and for the 8 servings. I was amazed that the Mocha Protein Shake's dry ingredients amounted to almost a half cup of dry.

How do you make or where do you get peanut butter powder? I always have flax seed meal on hand and make my own almond meal.

Nikki

another one to try

You all have inspired me! I have a new favorite.

4 oz Greek yogurt
4 oz coconut milk or unsweetened Almond Breeze
1 cup Spinach (trust me, just throw it in)
1 T Flax
1-2 cabsules fish oil
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
1 individual size Crystal Light (or whatever brand you choose)
currently I am using the orange because it makes it taste just like an orange Julius
Dash of vanilla or vanilla Davinci
1/2 teaspoon of Xantham gum (helps the ice blend in better)
about 6 oz ice

Blend WELL and enjoy. Crystal Light has some fun flavors out like Strawberry energy (if you need a little kick in the morning) a Pomegranate immunity booster, Kiwi strawberry. The possibilities are endless.

I know the Spinach sounds gross. I am VERY picky when it comes to taste and texture. I put this in a glass you can't see through and had my 19 year old son and husband try. They both said it tasted just like a drink from Orange Julius or a smoothie place...If I can trick my teenager ANYONE can drink this!!

Nikki - sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you.

Peanut Butter Protein Shake

For 1 serving, in blender put
1/2 to 3/4 cups water
1 scoop vanilla or chocolate whey protein powder
1/8 tsp. Splenda Q-P
1/8 cup (heaping) ground flax seed
1 Tbsp. peanut butter powder (or 1 tbsp. creamy peanut butter)
3-4 ice cubes

Blend well till ice is crushed. Drink immediately, it will really thicken if it sits with the ground flax in there.

To Mix ahead for 8 servings:

8 scoops protein powder
1 1/4 tsp. Splenda Q-P
1 cup (16 Tbsp.) peanut Butter Powder
Mix together and store in air tight container.

When ready to use, in blender put:
3/4 cup water
3/4 to 1 cup of above protein mix
3-4 ice cubes
1/8 cup ground flax seed

Blend well, drink it down!

I order the peanut butter powder on line. If you do a google search, click on the first item that comes up, that's the one I order. There are others but I haven't tried them.

Thanks for the Peanut Butter recipe! But I don't know what Splenda Q-P is? I only have/use the single packets or bulk granulated Splenda.

While waiting for your P/B recipe, I tried to make my own P/B powder/flour. I mixed up some dry roasted (unsalted) peanuts (Walmart's GV) and ground it down in my Back to Basics Blender Plus (I used the flat blade). It came out pretty gosh darn good... I make my almond meal/flour this way.

I added 2 Tbsps. to the Mocha shake recipe (omitting the instant coffee crystals) and adding 1 tsp. of Cinnamon. It was darn good!

I'll do a Goggle search on the P/B powder later. Have to go the K/Derby will be coming on in 10 minutes or so.

Thanks again,
Nikki

One I tried today and liked..

EGGNOG

1 fl oz heavy cream
4 fl oz water
1 fl oz almond breeze
1 egg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 scoops vanilla protein powder - I use EAS Whey (1 serving, about 1/2 c, 27g protein 2 net carbs)
1 cup ice

Basically, gma's eggnog recipe, subing 1 oz cream for almond milk, and adding the protein powder and ice.

Nikki - Splenda Q-P is Splenda Quick Pack. They don't make them anymore but I have a huge stash! One quick pack is equalivent to one cup of granulated Splenda.

Good for you making the peanut butter powder, great idea! Adding it in the Mocha shake sounds good too!

Wow, bumping this so I can make my husband a strawberry milkshake....

We made this for breakfast this morning

Strawberry-Coconut Smoothie
10-12 ice cubes
1 13.5-oz can coconut milk
1 cup strawberries
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp almond extract
1/4 tsp stevia powder (or equivalent sweetener)
2 scoops protein powder ( I used vanilla flavor)
I also added 1 tbsp strawberry flavor Davinci's syrup
1. Place all the ingredients in a blender & process at high speed until well combined
Serves 2 372 Calories, 8 gr protein, 32 g fat, 4 g fiber, 8 g carbohydrate 4 net g carbs

I found this in a mag and cut it out. It was very good.
