Recipe for "Maple" Syrup?
I am really avoiding Splenda so I had to get rid of my sugar-free maple syrup. So has anyone had any luck with making a stevia-based maple syrup? I'm thinking of ordering a maple oil from LorAnn or possible starting with some fenugreek... maybe brew it like a tea to get the flavor? Then adding xanthan gum to get that syrupy consistency???
Any help/ideas would be appreciated!!!

1/4 cup xylitol
1/4 cup water
Heat until xylitol dissolves, then remove from heat and whisk in a healthy splash of pure maple extract (made by Frontier--I get it at Whole Foods). Add a tiny pinch of xanthan gum and blend well. It'll thicken as it cools.
Only problem is that it gets chunks as the xylitol crystallizes over time, so you have to heat it up every time you use it. Erythritol would probably work well too, but I ran out of it when I was having pancakes this weekend!
As for a recipe with just stevia, it probably wouldn't have the same texture.

i found this somewhere... dont remember where just wrote it down:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1 package plain jello
1/2. tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp. maple extract
6 packets artificial sweetener (this is where you could use your stevia and a bit of trial and error testing i guess?)
EDIT: i havent tried it or anything... just throwing it out there
