No sugar, no flour bread - is it even possible?

My youngest daughter was on a special diet that contained no sugar, no flour and no dairy until she was almost 6 years old due to health restrictions. She is now 8 1/2. She seems to have trouble digesting bread, but it is her favorite. I was buying her a very wholesome grained bread.

So now I am looking for a bread recipe that contains no white flour or sugar. I would prefer no wheat flour as well, but I am willing to use it if I must. I must keep her all natural so I have even been looking at nut flours and coconut flours.

Does anyone have any bread type recipes that are fairly simple? I am even willing to buy a bread machine if I need to.(I never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth)

Thanks.

I'm not really sure about what you are looking for but have you looked on the Bob's Red Mill sight? They have several mixes that are gluten and or wheat free...you may find what your need there.

This looks like a good link . I like the flax or oopsies bread best The flax one is very easy .
You can exchange flax bread recipe with almond flour or use a combination of almond flour with flax or other nuts flours for the recipe and it come out good . or add some herbs or spices to the mix, it can be fun trying new ideas .

good luck

i was actually looking around Lowcarbdiets dot about dot com and laura has an apparently amazing flax meal bread that everyone on that forum raves about. i am going to try it out this weekend. if you try it out do look through the reviews and comments on the site. they mention to lower the oil and add seasonings if you want it savory or sweetener and cinnamon if you want it sweet. . . let me know how it turns out if you make it!!!

Bob's Red Mill makes a gluten free, wheat free, diary free bread mix that is available online or at many health food stores. Description:

"Gluten free; wheat free; dairy free. All natural product. For bread machines or bake in conventional oven. For bread machines or by hand. Specially designed for those sensitive to wheat or gluten. This moist flavorful bread is ideal for sandwiches, toast, bread crumbs, croutons and other dishes that start with a basic loaf of bread. Contains a blend of gluten-free flours. Bob's Red Mill products labeled gluten free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an Elisa Gluten Assay test to determine if a product is gluten free."

If you look it up on Amazon you will be able to read several user reviews of the product.

It's not specifically "wheat-free" if it's made from sprouted wheat, right?

This might work for you. Kamut Flour Bread for Bread Machine (Wheat-Free) Recipe : Recipezaar

It uses kamut flour so it isn't low carb, but I am not sure if you needed it to be low carb or just not wheat. ?
