Green Bean Fries... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So after a recent thread here in the ML, and after finding this thread:
http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lo...gly-snack.html

I decided to make some green bean fries today. THE BOMB.

Heated over to 350 convection
1 bag of frozen green beans poured into a Ziplock bag. Threw some olive oil and salt in the bag and coated all the 'fries'. Put on a foil lined pan and baked for who knows how long till shriveled/crispy. Then put more salt on it and dipped into LC ketchup.

JEEZ. These are SO GOOD. Thanks for the idea!

Uh, I could rip through a whole bag at once easy. I had to force myself to put the rest in the fridge. Jeez.

At least 45 - 60 min, on 350 convection.
But the original recipe said 275 for like an hour (didn't say convection).
So you gotta kinda play with the time...

I read someone else said they did theirs two hours... Some people say 350 burns theirs. So you just have to watch it to see what your oven does.

Does everyone love these? I was disappointed and I love green beans. I would rather have fresh and raw on GB's.

So funny...
I actually just tossed my first ever batch in the oven right before I logged on tonight! I read about them in the other thread yesterday and stopped to pick up the beans on the way home tonight! Mine have about 30 mins left...hope they turn out!!

I cooked 2 bags for my family of 5 tonight

Keep in mind that 3 of us are under 10 and under 50lbs LOL

DD9 took a baggie and hid them in the fridge for a snack at school tomorrow. DH ate 1/2 a bag himself and did not use ketchup.

I took some pictures and will post some tomorrow.

These are amazing and taste a whole lot like sweet potato fries...

[COLOR="Navy"]I also LOVE eating ugly green beans - they can be addictive. I toss them with the oil and then sprinkle them with Mrs. Dash's spicy mix and they could not be tastier. I've been lc'ing again for a while now, and totally forgot about making these.
Glad I found this thread - think I'll pick up some beans tomorrow so I can make a nice big batch!

I also like to make ugly cauliflower...yum!!

I make the green beans & cauliflower at 400 deg and stir them after the first 10 min, then every 5 min until they are just ugly enough!
