Cleo happened upon a crust blend mix that she says is awesome. An equal portion of macadamia, almond and cashew nuts. I haven't tried that yet but it sounds like it might be perfect. Cashews for sweet, Almonds for heft and fiber, and macadamia for the creamy fat. MMMM.
I gotta find and excuse to make something with this crust real soon.

Metqa,

I just made Cleo's turtle cheesecake a couple weeks ago and used that exact crust! You're right... all mac would probably be too soft. I will try her crust next time!

Is the sweetner blend truly needed? I have the liquid splenda, would that work?

liquid splenda would work just fine, it's just that blends have all the best parts of different sweetnesses and have a more real sugar flavor and texture than a sole sweetener and can sometimes require less as a blend than it would as only one sweetener

So yeah, you can use just one, liquid splenda, stevia, xylitol, whatever you have, just make sure it is sweet enough for your taste and you are happy with it.

An oldie but goodie, I love this recipe!

My only issue is BoBo doesn't tell us what temp to bake the crust at.

Anyone got an idea? I have it in the oven right now at 335 (somewhere between 325 and 350) and I'm watching it, but would love to know the real temp it should be at.

I searched this thread, but no temp mentioned.

Thanks all!

I have his recipe listed as 325 degrees, but I have other dessert pizzas listed at 350 and 375. The temperature you are baking it at seems fine.

Making this for dessert tonight. I have to keep swatting my son from eating the strawberries. I'm excited to try it - if it works this will be a regular treat this summer at the lake.

Do you buy this already blended together? If so, is there a name or brand? I've not seen it, but then I didn't know to look either.

Unfortunately No, I have to blend it myself, but I've had such good results that I will keep making it.

I get powdered splenda from the supermarket, Then I buy erythritol and xylitol from a baking warehouse company I get like 5 lbs or so at a time and the shipping is only five bucks for all of it. Then I order Diabetisweet from Amazon's subscription order feature so every 6 months I get 3 more boxes, one of which I give to my mom to use.

Then I use 5T of powder splenda, 2T of Erythritol, 2T of Xylitol and 2T of Diabetisweet. This makes only 11 T of sweetener but it sweetens like 16T(1 cup) If I need to use a fraction amount I just use a ratio with 11T as the denominator instead of 16T.

I've dissolved this on the stove with a little liquid to make a nice smooth liquid for dairy pies. but mostly I just scoop it out and use it for smoothies for everyday use and I sometimes just use the individual sweeteners since it doesn't matter much for serving size recipes or drins. But if I want something to not just be sweet but to be sweet and smooth like sugar for a recipe, I use this.

"Sorry I missed that. The crust was 350 degrees, and the cake 325. Do NOT overcook the crust. You can tell from my pic that my crust is no where near over baked, but the tiny amount of brown you do see does taste a little dryer than the rest of the pizza, so be careful."

Thanks Metqa!!
I'm going to look at my local health food store see if they carry the Diabetisweet, Erythritol and Xylitol. If not I will have to find it online.

Thanks again.

This looks amazing! I will try it this weekend. Fairly new to this forum so I am going back and exploring some of the older posts. So glad I ran into some by the OP, as he does not seem to be active on the board anymore. :-(
