Chicken Lazone (From Brennan's in NOLA)

Just got this in an e-mail, I will try it tonight and let you all know how it is. It sounds incredible!

Chicken Lazone (From Brennan's in NOLA)

1 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Chili powder
1 1/2 tsp Onion powder
2 tsp Garlic powder
4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
1/4 c Butter, divided
1/2 c Heavy Cream

Combine the seasonings & coat chicken breasts.
In a large saute pan, melt half of the butter & cook chicken over medium heat for about 7-8 minutes, turning once
Pour the cream into the skillet & lower the heat
Simmer for several minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens & then add the remaining butter
When butter is melted, place chicken on plate & top with the sauce.

I got this recipe about 4 years ago off the Recipe*zaar site. It's really good.
It's good with zucchini noodles.

Delicious!

This is fantastic and so easy. The sauce is amazing. I agree about the salt though. Either use unsalted butter or cut the salt by at least half. I'm very much looking forward to having leftovers for dinner!

Here's another thread for the same recipe. It is ah-may-zing! I've made it twice already since I read about it in this thread.

Did someone comment about it being too salty? Some brands of chili powder have salt in them which might make it too salty if you also add additional salt.

I made this for dinner last night, made enough for three servings so my DH could take some for his lunch today, didn't have anything left after dinner. When DH went back for more I told him it was his lunch, he said he didn't care wanted more now!!! So in future I will make quite a bit more. It is really good, the sauce is wonderful. I added sliced zucchini in when I added the cream and let it cook a little longer so the zucchini could cook. I also used boneless, skinless thighs, the meat stayed really moist and tasty.

Maybe I read about the saltiness on another recipe board. My chili powder doesn't have salt and I would still cut the salt but that's just me...I'm not a big salt user. But this dish is fantastic!

I'm thinking about a curry version. Chili powder, ginger powder, curry powder, saute chicken and use coconut milk instead of heavy cream.

Mmmmmmmm.
