Speaking of E, has anyone tried the new brand of powdered E that Netrition is selling? I got an email yesterday saying the previous brand (that I LOVED) has been discontinued.

Say it isn't so 24! I didn't get that e-mail. What is the new brand?

I still have some of the old brand left, guess we'll just have to "powder" our own from the granular!

A couple months ago I had trouble locating the usual powdered E -- suspecting it was on the way out, like so many of our favorite low carb products, I bought a TON! when it finally came back in. Glad to see that Netrition has come up with a replacement, tho, for those of us that don't want to grind our own, 'cause I could not locate an alternate source at the time.

yea, I've never done the grinding my own. I 'll order the new stuff and give it a whirl, gonna do an order next week. Will let you know Retro & Tweaker. You were sooo smart, Retro to order a bunch, wish I had.

To the OP: i've only used powdered, never the granular so....

The new brand is : Sensato Erythritol

Found a new sweetener

I just found a new sweetener called Sweet'n It. Has anyone tried it? It does taste just like sugar with no aftertaste but, it is a little cooling to the taste. I tried it in several things. It is great in all kinds of liquids (drinks) and sauces but I'm not having perfect results with crunchy cookies. Would anyone know how to get around that? I got it at Prescribed For Life, on the net. If anyone knows how to bake with this product please, let me know. Because its by far the best tasting product I have ever tasted and I have tried them all. Thanks!

I googled this product and found this:

Ingredients: A Proprietary Blend of: Erythritol (from cane sugar), Xylitol (from birch trees), Mung Bean Seed Extract (Pre-Biotic Sweet Fiber), Digestion Resistant Dextrin Fiber, Stevia Extract, Natural Flavors

It's made primarily of Erythritol and Xylitol. Seems quite expensive at
1#: 15.00. You can buy a pound of each at Netrition for 13.08. I think I'd be tempted to mix these two and see if you like the combo (maybe I'm just too mingy to spend 15.00 for a pound of "sugar" )

I have good results with these two sweeteners - keeping in mind that LC results usually are "exactly" like the originals. Good luck!

I recently used truvia in Jody's pumkin bake...I used 2packets and about 1tablespoon of davinci carmel s/f and the sweetness was perfect for me. I stopped using splenda b/c it caused huge cravings.

After reading several posts, I'm still unclear about something. How many net carbs does Truvia actually have? Is it the same as Splenda or does it have less? I'm getting ready to start induction so I'm wondering which sweeteners I am able to use freely or almost freely... or do I have to stick with the 3 packets equivalent no matter what I use?

Truvia has 0 net carbs, because it is Erythritol and stevia, Splenda is sucralose and maltodexitrin and has 24 net carbs per cup. Maltodexitrin is not zero carb and is just for bulk. Liquid sucralose, like EZsweetz, have zero carbs because they have no bulking agent.
