Hershey's sugar free chocolate chips

Ran across these today in Walmart by the regular chocolate chips. $2.89 for an 8oz bag. They do have 7g of maltitol per serving (1T), but I'm still excited to find a sugar free chocolate chip that doesn't have to be purchased online. Are these new, or have they been around awhile and I've just noticed them??

I haven't been able to find them myself, but the nutritional data makes me nervous Too many carbs for this body. I will have to wait for later.

I posted almost this exact same thing about a month or so ago. I don't remember seeing them before now. I liked them (had to open the bag to try them) but haven't used them in anything yet.

That's a heck of a lot of maltitol for such a tiny serving. You'll want to be very careful with those chips and I wouldn't let children eat them.

I agree about the maltitol it gives me blood sugar spikes and cravings besides the fact it can cause some serious tummy trouble...giggle
That said I haven't seen them in our wal-mart yet, and it might work to mix with sugar free dark chocolate for a nice dipping chocolate.
I would also like to know how you end up using them and how they work out.
Hugs,
Vikki

OT, but I really don't understand how these are low carb. Maltitol itself it isn't even low carb! It makes me mad how candy manufacturers like to play it off like you can just substract the carbs from maltitol. It's a blatant lie!

Someone needs to make chips with erythritol...

I agree! Is that something you have thought about trying by any chance (hint, hint!)?

fudge

I made fudge with these chips. the only sugar in the fudge was the marshmallow cream. One jar of marsmallow to 3 bags of the hershey's sf choc chips means very low amount of sugar overall. i've had a gastric bypass and did not experience any dumping syndrome. the fudge was very good. it was very slightly grainy but still good

Oh I love these chips to. I put them in the freezer and when I need a Choco. Fix I just grab a small hand full, maybe 10 chips and eat them. Bag last me easily 2 weeks. So glad Hershey's brought these back
