Just a bit. With what I was reading, I thought they would spread all over the sheet and be thin. I did chill the dough before forming on the cookie sheet, but they stayed pretty much the shape I made them in. I REALLY enjoyed them. Thanks so much.

Tilley, they were awesome. Everyone loved them. I am having portion control with these around. So easy to throw together and bake. This will be a go to recipe a lot.

Made these this morning...amazing! I added a touch of maple extract..extra yummy. Also, I used the 2/3 cup Splenda like-Nevella and with the chocolate chips it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Probably since I haven't had anything similar to a cookie in way too long.

Hmm.. Ive tried repeatedly to add a pic of the completed recipe from my phone but I keep getting an error message saying something about a security token?

Carolyn, I see now why this recipe has such great reviews. They're very yummy!! I love how easy they are to make too. I used almond flour but I can't wait to try this with pecans!!

Thanks for sharing!!

These are insane! Probably the best lc dessert ever. No "off" taste at all. In fact, they have so much of a real chocolate chip cookie taste that I can't believe it.

I used almond meal, chopped up 85% choco bar, and baking powder instead of soda. Baked in muffin tin. They were big, gorgeous, choco chip muffins that TASTED like choco chip muffins!!!!

My son asked if they were low carb, so that makes these a winner!! I dumped the rest of the chocolate chips into the batter from the bag to finish them off so there's specks all through them from the crumbs. They are easy to make and delicious.

This is on my list of must tries, along with a few others. I love how on this way of eating, I have so many choices for yummy desserts, I have a hard time deciding which one I want to try next or make again.

I need to make these again, but have to make a double batch bc everyone in my house begs for them. I pour it into an 8x8 glass baking dish and cut into triangular shapes. SO easy to make and well worth it.

Ditto, cookies, cakes, candy, cheesecakes, pies, oh my goodness, oh and let's not forget ice cream! Yup, these are somewhere on my "to make" list. Even made my own chocolate chips for it. Unfortunately not sure how many will be left by the time I get around to making these bars, I need my chocolate fix every day!

For those who have made this: it's just 1c of ground nuts, and a 1/2c of chopped nuts after? That's the main bulk? Doesn't seem like much?

Yep,exactly. They don't make huge pieces. That's LC for ya. Just enough to satisfy a craving tho.

These are on the danger list. Can't make them anymore unless it's a special occassion.

I baked them in the muffin tins and used the left over batter in a small, single serve baking dish. The muffins were soooooo much better.

does anyone find these to have that metallic splenda aftertaste? usually when just splenda is used I find that happens but maybe the fat in the nuts prevents it? I really want to make these!

Some people might "taste" Splenda like that, I imagine. Use another sweetener.

Like Jennifer said, I think it depends on how you "taste" things. I made them with Splenda and don't taste any metallic aftertaste. But when I make things with stevia, even NuNaturals, I taste a metallic taste AND a bitter taste. I guess we all have different taste receptors.

I love making half a recipe of these as drop cookies. It is one of my favorite recipes now.

Thankls - I use splenda daily in my drinks and it tastes good but if I bake with only splenda I get that chemical metallic taste!! If I mix it with other sweeteners I never get that - so I guess I will have to m,ix some things up!

If I just use erythritol for baking I get a weird bitter sensation too!! Stevia is gross unless I mix it with at least 2 different sweeteners - haha I guess I am a super taster and need synergy for sugar replacements!

I mixed both splenda and erythritol for these.

Ok, so I have a 4x batch in the oven right now (I had to use up a huge surplus of walnuts I just discovered I had, so I used all walnuts).

I'm going to say that my batch makes 32, which is just 4x the original recipe, which I think would make 8 bars.

All this to say, per Mastercook (and just counting the chocolate as unsweet, and I used liquid splenda, so no carbs coming from that):
8 bars in original recipe
221 cal per bar
5g-2g fiber = 3 g net per bar.

Made these today and they are yummy! They arent really cookie like though, a little too puffy for that. I would like them a bit denser maybe? They taste fabulous despite being a little cakey. I had one after lunch and will probably have another after dinner. I used a chopped dark chocolate bar in place of the SF chips and 1 cup of Trader Joe's almond meal for the ground nuts. Next time I will try them as drop cookies.

Finally made these tonight. I am happy to report that they are good and were worth firing up the oven in my already 81 degree apartment. (Darn heat wave. My ac can't kep up with 107 degree temps) I would have been so bummed if I didn't like them and sweated for nothing.

I love the idea of adding some coconut to these. As soon as I get some, this recipe will be in the oven.

These are in the oven now... I added 1/3 c peanut flour and used almond flour.

I cannot use straight splenda in baking so I planned on mixing but I accidentally used 1/3 c of poly D - I Thought it was my powdered erythritol!! So instead of 2/3 c splenda I used 1/3 c each - splenda, poly d and powdered erythritol. we shall see!!

The batter tased so good - i skipped the additional nuts because my kids would not eat them at all if they were in there!!

I still have some of my x4 batch going, and I served them to my inlaws (who don't watch their weight at all, but should ) and they ate 2 each, and I packed up 6 for them for their road trip.

Didn't have the heart to tell them they were "healthy"
