So.... I completely screwed up this recipe... but they are SOOOO good.

Half way into preparing it I realized i didn't have baking soda, so I ran to the convenience store to buy a box. Originally I mixed together 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans and 1/2 cup walnuts. I mixed in the other ingredients and it looked really wet and didn't look like it would even come close to filling an 8x8 pan. I reread the recipe and I was thinking it meant 1 cup each of pecans and walnuts, so I added 1/2 cup each more into the bowl (2 cups total). I couldn't find SF chocolate chips, so I used 2 TB of regular semisweet chips (which will add 18 carbs per batch). I pop the pan in the oven and realized I forgot the baking soda, I added it straight to the pan and mixed it up... the chips had melted in the minute in the oven, so the chocolate mixed into the dough, looking more like a brownie. As it was baking I read more of the thread and realized someone asked about the quantities of the pecans/walnuts. So I was prepared that they would taste HORRIBLE and throw the entire pan away..... now... Im thinking I need to throw them away to keep myself from eating the entire pan in one sitting...

Thanks again for posting this.... these are AMAZING and I think my nonLC friends/family will really like these.

OK. Finally have time to make this. My chocolate chips are in the freezer right now firming up because I really want my bars to be cookies not brownies. I cannot wait!!! Now I just have to decide if I want to add nuts or not. If I add nuts, my kids won't eat. But I do add nuts, I would be stuck eating the whole thing. I guess no nuts for now so I can share. Don't need to eat the whole thing in one sitting LOL.

Thanks for this recipe! I made these a few days ago, using chopped up sf chocolate, almonds, and unsweetened coconut. Between my boyfriend and I, they were gone in 2 days. SO GOOD.

Ok. These are now in the oven. Cannot wait to try. I decided not to add any chopped nuts. That way my family will eat them and I won't end up with the whole thing. I know I would probably finish these off with no problem by myself but I don't need to be doing that. I used Special Dark chips that I stored in the freezer overnight so that the chips would remain suspended in the batter. I hope my whole family enjoys these--my DD especially. She needs to learn to like these wonderful low carb recipes since she has type 1 diabetes. These are much better for her than an ordinary cookie any day of the week!

My latest version- chopped up sf russell stover caramel patties, and the plain caramel patties. I ran out of chocolate to chop up. The caramel melted and oozed, making them even better! My boyfriend took them to dinner with his family, for non-lowcarbers. They loved them!

OK...just made this recipe and WOWZA...loved it!!!!

I made my own pecan/walnut flour in my coffee grinder, and used 1/3 cup splenda and 4 drops of EZsweets. It has got to be the best dessert I have tried so far. I'm going to have trouble controlling how much I eat!

THANK YOU CAROLYNF for this recipe!! The hubby is going to have a tough time believing there is no sugar in this one!!

Esther..I just made a double batch using a 9 x 13 pan. I used one cup of almond flour and one cup of the walnut flour (whirled in my Bullet). They look perfect..

Big hit at church..However, I am going to chop up a 72 percent bar next time I make this cuz the SF chips (Hershey's) have malitol or something in them..

Finally got around to making these. Very very good. But mine did not look at all like the pics on page 1 (chocolate did not infiltrate the whole bar). I sprinkled the choc chips on top and they stayed in place. Very much like the bars I used to eat. I would have taken a picture but they didn't last long.

FYI...I used coconut in place of the nuts. Made them a little chewy...very nice.

I just whipped up a double batch of these and put them in the oven. I wanted some kind of dessert for my fathers day cookout. My dad will be over. He doesn't do lowcarb so I won't tell him. Lol. I might go and get some vanilla ice cream to put on top for him and hubby. I used all almond flour. I will post results later.

I made half a recipe today using almond flour. I made them as drop cookies. Perfect and the half recipe provides me with some portion control! Excellent with a cup of coffee. They are not overly sweet with the nice texture that almond flour gives. Thanks for this recipe. I will be making these again!
