Egg Cream Ideas

I seem to find loads of ideas for egg creams but then they get lost in all the chatter. So I have gathered up some of the ones given to me and I wanted to put them all in one place. I am looking for a egg cream made with out any protein powder, coffee, or cream cheese. SO if someone makes one like this please let me know.

Protein Shake Recipes

Di's Basic Protein Shake And Variations

Di's Basic Protein Shake

1/3 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup cold water
2 scoops of protein powder (any flavor)
1-2 teaspoons psyllium husks (optional - adding fiber but not carbs here)
12-15 ice cubes
Place everything but the ice cubes in the blender and process until well-combined. Add the ice cubes one at a time until your shake reacher the desired consistency. (Pulse works best for crunching up the ice cubes.)

If you use 12 to 15 ice cubes, the end result will have the consistency of a Wendy's Frosty. Omit the ice cubes, and you can just drink the shake.

Di's Chocolate Protein Shake Variations

To a basic shake using chocolate protein powder I add 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder + 1 packet artificial sweetener + one of the following:

1 teaspoon instant coffee
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
2 tablespoon DaVinci Sugar Free Creme de Menthe syrup
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract
1-2 teaspoons peanut butter
Di's Strawberry Shake Variations

To a basic shake using strawberry protein powder I add a packet of artificial sweetener and one of the following:

2-3 tablespoons DaVinci sugar free raspberry syrup
frozen strawberries in place of some of the ice cubes
Di's Vanilla Protein Shake Variations

To a basic shake using vanilla protein powder I add a packet of artificial sweetener (or liquid artificial sweetener to taste) and one of the following:

1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract
1-2 teaspoons peanut butter
2 or more tablespoons DaVinci sugar free creme de menthe extract
some frozen blueberries in place of some of the ice cubes + a sprinkling of cinnamon or ginger
1 to 2 tablespoons DaVinci sugar free cinnamon syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 packet artificial sweetener, + 1 teaspoon root beer extract
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
1 teaspoon instant coffee, a packet of artificial sweetener & a little cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract, a packet of artificial sweetener, and a little cinnamon or ginger
Di's Vanilla Praline Protein Shake Variations

To a basic shake using vanilla praline protein powder I add a teaspoon of Brown Sugar Twin one of the following:

1 to 2 tablespoon DaVinci sugar free caramel syrup, and some finely chopped pecans
1 to 2 tablespoons DaVinci sugar free pancake (maple) syrup
Alice's Awesome Cheesecake Protein Shakes

Alice's Lemon Cheesecake Protein Shake

Alice says: "I suppose that I could have left out the ice, poured all this into a springform pan, and had cheesecake in a few hours, but I just didn't have the patience to wait. This shake was just as satisfying as eating cheesecake."

1/3 package sugar free lemon gelatin
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup sugar free lemon/lime soda, chilled
2 tablespoons heavy cream
2 ounces farmer's cheese or cream cheese
artificial sweetener to taste
crushed ice (to taste)

Pour the boiling water and the sugar free gelatin into the blender and blend to dissolve the gelatin. When the gelatin is completely dissolved, add the lemon/lime soda, cream, farmer's or cream cheese, and artificial sweetener.

Continue processing until everything is well-combined, then slowly add ice cubes until your protein shake reachers the desired consistency.

Variations: Any flavor or sugar free gelatin will work, of course. You might want to experiment with using different sugar free sodas as well. For example, if you are using sugar free raspberry gelatin, you might want to try using Diet Rite raspberry soda. If using orange gelatin, you might want to try sugar free tangerine or orange soda to intensify the flavor.

one scoop Isopure Zero Carb Cookies and Creme protein powder
about 1/4 cup French Vanilla sugar free creamer (surprisingly low-carb)
1/2 cup water
1 egg
1-2 hands-full of ice
blended for 30 seconds

I may make it next with 2 eggs to make it richer but leave the rest the same

I have made them two different ways from other people's ideas.

2 eggs
1/2 a packet sugar free jello mixed with 3/4 cup boiling water, stir til melted. Add a few ice cubes to cool it down
2 T. half and half
a little splenda

Blend, serve over ice (I've tried peach and orange and they were both fantastic!)

the other way:

2 eggs
1 cup diet chocolate soda (not sure if this has caffeine or not)
2 T. Kahlua da vinci
2 T. half and half
a little splenda

blend and serve over ice
this would also be good with other sodas and changing the flavor da vinci.

I consider both of those induction friendly but I think some people don't consider sf jello for induction.

I have an egg nog flavor da vinci I may play around with tomorrow.

Here are the ones I have used and made:

HB's Favorite Breakfast ~ Egg Cream Frappuccino
Hummingbird11's Recipe

3 organic free-range/cage-free eggs (fresh!)
8 oz decaf coffee (brewed strong & chilled overnight or make & use coffee ice cubes!)
1 scoop Jay Robb's 100% whey isolate protein powder (chocolate or vanilla or strawberry)
1 Tbsp Torani or DaVinci SF syrup (french vanilla or chocolate or any flavor you like!)
2 Tbsp organic heavy cream
2 Tbsp organic extra virgin coconut oil (melted)

blend/froth eggs first; add cream and blend/froth again
(makes it fluffy!)
add the rest of the ingredients in the order above; add melted CO last

My Egg Cream Frappaccino (the title makes it taste better, I think!)
This is Lemonmama's Recipe

2 eggs
4 oz. strong coffee (I like good coffee, ground my beans first and then use a coffee press to brew)
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
2 teaspoons sugar free syrup (my favorites are caramel and vanilla bean)
a little less than 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, or unsweetened coconut milk, or almond milk (the heavy whipp makes it thicker, but it tastes good with the almond milk too--I personally haven't had trouble losing with the extra cream)
1 handful of ice cubes (4 or 5 cubes)

My own tries
I made yesterday for the first time....
Chocolate Eggcream
This morning I made a new eggcream:
2eggs
almost 1/4 c. Cream
4oz Almond Breeze Chocolate SF (FOUND IT, FOUND IT)
2 T. Hershey's Chocolate Syrup SF has succrolose ( spelling)

This morning I made an orange cream but didn't really taste any orange at all. It tasted just like the cream part of a dreamsicle

2 eggs
2 T Cream
1/2 c. Diet Orange Soda
2 T of Da Vinci's Orange ( and this stuff smelled strong)
1T of CO

I put the eggs in and mix and mix after adding each ingredient. I think freezing the main ingredient...coffee, diet drink whatever makes them MUCH,MUCH Nicer! Gives them a slushie/slurpie consistency!

There are numerous threads on the benefits of organic virgin coconut oil in the Lobby. They have some really good info! I hope you check those out.

Suppose I am the only one that adds a sprinkle of xanthan to my egg creams!

tifferanknee 07-01-2008 02:45 PM

YUM I'm definitely gonna try some of these! Thanks!

tifferanknee 07-02-2008 11:33 AM

Do you guys use these as a meal replacement, or just as a snack at times?? Are there al lot of carbs in them?

meal replacent here!

Do you do anything with the raw eggs to avoid salmonella? I used to add them to protein shakes years ago, but for at least the last decade, I've read they are a hazard:

Focus on Shell Eggs (USDA)

Editted to add - right after I posted this, I found a thread devoted to this very issue:

Egg Cream/Germ a phobe question

I throw in some Benefiber or Fibersure, they're all vegetable/soluble fiber/gums of one kind or another...

Mine don't need thickening, so I use those 2...supposed to be not thickening.

Current morning recipe on the run is, BTW,
- 1 scoop Vanilla Whey PP, 1 scoop Chocolate Whey PP
- 1 large veggie-fed egg (I shudder at the idea of Mad Chicken Diseasse! much more fatal than a little salmonella :annoyed: ;) )
- 1 Tbsp Whipping Cream
- 1 Tbsp MCT oil (a derivative of CO, I've got lots of it and it doesn't need melting in the morning)
- 1/2 Tsp pure vanilla
- 1/2 to 3/4 C cold decaf coffee or water if there is none
- whichever of the 2 fibers comes to my hand first... ;)
and spin it up in my magic bullet (dry stuff in the cup first, stirred; wet stuff and then fire it up).

:hiya:

My new Vanilla Orange Egg Cream :)

2 eggs
2 TBSP Heavy Whipping Cream
2 oz cream cheese
1 packet splenda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp orange extract
Ice amount you prefer ( I use 6-7 cubes)

Whirl away in bullet or blender till smooth and slushy :) Tastes like one of those little orange sherbet/vanilla ice cream cups :)
4.5 carbs

jenna... 09-25-2008 03:22 PM

1 scoop of unflavored Whey To Go Protein Powder
8 oz double strong Passion-Fruit Ice Tea
3/4 tbsp heavy cream
Stevia
3/4 tbsp Vanilla
Pumpkin Pie Spice
4 ice cubes

All in a VitaMix...

YUMMM...

I've changed mine up a bit over the months. I decided to drop the eggs ( :hyst: - sorry) and sub in protein powder as it's only 70 calories for a scoop and more than twice the protein of two eggs.
