An egg cream is just a protein shake. Just start with a base of 2 eggs and add Induction friendly foods, coffee, sweetener or sf syrup of your choice, hwc or half and half (watch amounts and count carbs),cocoa powder, cinnamon, etc.

Kerry I heart the new pic so cute!
Have to share with the egg creamers ... DH reminded me why I love him. He checked on my egg supply and brought home a dozen from the gas station/grocery store because he did not think I had enough for my egg creamer in the am. Sometimes that man will do the littlest things to make me happy

I found this one on a forum & drink it almost daily!:

2 eggs
1 T virgin coconut oil
1 T butter (sometimes I use 2 CO & no butter)
1 T cocoa powder or Instant decaf coffee (use the coffee for Induction)
1/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t pumpkin pie spice
stevia to taste (optional)
boiling water 4-6 oz
ice cubes

I'm working toward becoming sweet-free so I also a tiny bit of ground clove and a few drops of almond extract and forgo the stevia.

I add everything but the ice & blend well (the boiling water "cooks" the eggs enough that you don't have to worry about raw egg problems. Then add the ice & blend.

CoolBrew Eggcream!!! LOVE IT!!!!

Do any of you have CoolBrew in your stores? I'm not sure if it's a local thing but here it's in the section with all the coffee creamers. It's a concentrated iced coffee that comes in this cool little bottle where you can measure shots. 1 shot equals a cup of coffee. I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE it! (Did I mention I LOVE it???)

I'm new to eggcreams but this has been my recipe for 3 days and I feel WONDERFUL! So filling! And it tastes like a frappuccino!!! Mmmmmm My husband couldn't believe it! He's hooked too!

2 eggs
2 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream
12 drops Stevia
1 tsp Splenda (Hope to order some liquid soon to save the carb)
1 to 1 1/2 shot Mocha Coolbrew
1/2 Adkins advantage shake (any flavor)
1 handful of ice

I don't use enough ice to make it like a frozen drink... just enough to make it ice cold. It's SO GOOD!!!

To mix I use my Cuisinart SmartStick Hand Blender. (Amazon LinkAmazon Link ) It's so easy and super fast clean up. After I'm done mixing I just add some hot soapy water to the mixing cup and blend that really well then rinse!

This has been a LIFE SAVER for me as I don't like a hot breakfast in the mornings! Eggs and bacon are not appealing for me AT ALL unless it's for dinner!!!

The Coolbrew website says it has chickory added to the coffee concentrate-that would add carbs and it also states it has 10 calories, prolly from the chickory. Wonder what the nutritional values are on that?

I'll have to double check when I get home but I'm 100% sure it said 0 carbs per serving. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. (1 shot = serving) so if anything... it's the 1/2 carb they aren't legally required to list.

I just love how easy it is! No need to dirty up the coffee pot or worry about making it the night before and chilling.

The cals have to come from somewhere-if its carbs each serving has 2.5 carbs. Not bad except for those on Induction watching carb count carefully.

What store do you buy this in? I am in Alabama and wondering if some of the Southern chain grocery stores might carry it.

I've found it in Rouses, Winn Dixie, Wal-Mart. It's over in the dairy section by the flavored creamers. I know it's made in New Orleans though so it may only be a local thing.

I went home and checked the label last night. I tried to take a picture but my camera wouldn't focus close enough to read it.

Ingredients: Water, Coffee, Chicory

Calories 10
Sodium 3.7mg
Everything else was 0 (Carbs, Fat, etc.)

Hope that helps!

Calories have to come from protein, fat or carbs. Carbs x 4 + Protein x 4 + Fat x 9 = total calories. Still if its 2.5 carbs from the chickory not bad.

I guess I'm just not following you. It's not like you're eating the chicory... it's filtered with it. And since it's the last thing listed on the ingredient list - it has to be trace amounts.

If it says 0 carbs... on the label, I'm counting it as 1/2 carb at the most. If it actually had 2.5 carbs... they would have to list it that way correct?

Calories don't come from out of the air or nowhere. They come from protein, fats & carbs. So the carbs have to come somewhere and a cup of coffee with chicory has 5 calories so if it's concentrated this would make sense where the calories are coming from hence the carbs.

Can someone tell me about protein powder? What does it do for the egg cream, does it add more calories? Do I need both protein powder and eggs or are eggs fine alone? Also what is the average calorie/carb count for an egg cream. I know they will all be different but an average.
