Low carb brine for turkey (sugar free)

What is the purpose of sugar anyway in a turkey? Can it be left out? I wouldn't want sweet turkey.

Because the American public needs sugar in EVERYTHING! LOL!

But yes, you can leave it out. I always do.

Sugar in Turkey

YUK and double YUK. When I see ham and other meats loaded and
crusted with sugar it kinda makes me sick just looking at it.
