I'm very confused here. Do we use whole flax seeds or flax meal in these crackers and if using the meal do we still soak it?

Thanks!

There are so many different flax recipes...I also throw 1/2c ground flax(not soaking for me)into the 'food processed' veggies that I then spoon/ladel one at a time onto the sheet in the dehydrator....SO VERY YUMMY!

I have even added 1Tbsp coconut flour to the processed veggies just to soak up some of the liquid and to give the cracker more body.

Love Veggie crackers!

This is just my own personal focus on spinach.
I buy it by the pound box at Sam's.
I dehydrate the whole thing overnight...set it out to cool 5 minutes...then dump all of it into a gallon ZipLock...then crush/roll with a rolling pin till it is all even/fine granules.
I then take 1/2 Tbsp into my scrambled eggs in the morning....remember the Dr. Suess book "Green Eggs + Ham"?
I store it in an air tight container with my spices.
An easy way to add veggies to breakfast...I get to chuckle with the memories of all those stories when the kids were little.

I also use the granulated spinach..1 Tbsp. in my cold chicken broth that I take to work...green smoothie anyone???

I use whatever I have in the fridge....onion,celery,zucchini,cucumber,RED PEPPER-YUM!...etc.etc.
...taste it before I put them in the dehydrator...if it doesn't taste good before you dehydrate....just being in the dehydrator WILL NOT improve the taste!!!!

I get my Nesco American Harvest Dehydrator tomorrow so I am searching to find interesting recipes! First thing is kale chips and zucchini chips. Plan to make raw crackers and yogurt chips for the kids. One of my favs is deep fried green bean salted...can I make a crunchy green bean (salted ) in my dehydrator to munch on while watching a movie??? I am pretty excited about this kitchen gadget!!
