Freeze Dried Fruit

Found freeze dried fruit at Walmart. It is in the baby food section. They come in paired fruit selections. Peach-blueberry, Bannana Mango, Strawberry Bannana etc. It is 5 carbs for 1/4 cup.

Is it a powder? A "fruit leather"? I use freeze dried berries all the time...but usually just the single fruit per, they are whole...

Be cautious of the carb count being the same for all of the pairs, it's just plain wrong that the both-high-carb pair of Banana and Mango will have the same carb count as, say, Peach and Blueberry, both relatively low carb.

I looked for them at Wal-Mart today and each flavor combination has a different carb count. They ranged from about 5 net carbs to about 8 or 9 per 1/4 cup serving depending on the fruit. There is no sugar added to them and they're cut into tiny little cubes which are small enough that a baby wouldn't choke on them. They're just the right size to put in muffins like Tink and rosethorns did. Oh, and they cost between $2.50-$3.00 per bag and I think there were about four servings per bag but I'm not sure now.

I was thinking they'd be yummy in my Coconutty Crunch recipe if they were added after it was baked and I'd leave out the cinnamon.

The Gerber site has a $1.00 coupon that you can print out but you have to register with their site to print it.

I found a way to print the fruit coupon without registering. At the top of the Gerber page, click on Special Offers then under Coupons, click "See All Coupons". The funny thing is that if you try to get to the coupon from the main page without registering, you'll get a message that you can only print one coupon per registered user. From the link I mention above, I was able to print out more than one.

I don't know what's up with the coupons. Maybe I printed out the only two available for the whole country??? Sorry about that. I'm getting that message too now.

I got 2 coupons following your instructions and used them last week. I guess they figured out their mistake and fixed it since then.

Our Walmart stopped accepting internet coupons--bummer. I may pick up a few bags of these to have on hand. Thanks for pointing this out--I normally have no need to go the baby food aisle.
