Is there another name for spaghetti squash? I want some really bad!

I have always heard some of you guys talk about how great spaghetti squash is and I have looked and looked and NEVER seen any sold at a grocery store in my area. Now tonight while flipping through the TV channels, I saw Martha Stewart cook some and it looked so good. I can't believe how much it looks like spaghetti. That was the first time I had actually seen it and now I'm REALLY bummed because I can't get my hands on any. Does it go by another name perhaps that I am not recognizing?

Yes, you're right Bruce. I did some searching online and they are a fall and winter squash. I can't believe I can't find any around here And by the way, Bruce, how are you feeling? Are you better today?

Bruce, I'm so sorry about the pain you're in right now You sure do know how to keep your sense of humor through all of this. Now are you sure you don't want to just scream real loud and yank that dressing off all at once?!

Yum, spaghetti squash. Should be all over your grocer right now. It's big & yellow, almost as big as a football, but more round.

Ask your produce section to get it for you, you will love it.

cheers,
wendy

OMG it is almost too easy. I just prick a million holes into the squash, and nuke for 10 minutes on high.

I let it sit for a minute, then slice in half, scoop out seeds, and shred the squash with a fork into a bowl.

It is so YUM.

The other night I sauteed shrimp and scallops with garlic, mushrooms, red pepper, and butter, and made a cream sauce by melting gorgonzola and butter in heavy cream in a saucepan. Put the shellfish over the spaghetti squash, poured the cream sauce over it.
It was so filling. It was just like eating real spaghetti!
