Need Shake -Recipes

I'm looking for very low carb simple shake recipes - (would like a chocolate one!) & vanilla would be okay too. I "need" something cold & sweet after dinner, but without the carbs. Any idea's? Thanks !!

I can't help with the vanilla or chocolate recipes, but I have a good strawberry shake recipe.

Take about 6 frozen strawberries and put them in a blender. Add a cup of water and a splash of cream (adjust cream/water ratio depending on your preference) and a bit of splenda. Blend on the liquify setting. To up the nutrition value, add in some flax meal (about a TBSP). It will make it a tad thicker but wont effect the taste.

Frozen strawberries vary a lot in size so you may have to add more liquid or strawberries to get the right consistency.

You know what I like and it's not a shake. I make sno cones with davinci's syrup.

Sometimes I put a diet soda in a freezer bag and freeze it until it's not quite frozen and then chop it up in a cup and eat with a spoon, sort of like a slushie, but totally carb free for both of my "fixes". HTH

I like to make a smoothie with just strawberries and a strawberry diet soda and a little strawberry davinci's and some crushed ice. I put it all in the smoothie maker and viola! Tastes great for dessert too.

Another sweet thing that is good is s/f jello. I top it with whipped cream and chopped nuts for a sundae type treat.

Here's some I've collected:

use Whey Protein Powder, both chocolate & vanilla are great. You can mix them with:
- water and a splash of cream OR
- Crystal light or SF Tang to make an orange julius type drink OR
- 1 tsp of instant coffee and a sprinkle of cinnamon to make a capuccino like shake.
- I use different extracts and Davinci syrups to create flavor combos.
- After induction, you can throw in a few frozen berries in as well.
- A few ice cubes give it a bit more texture in the blender also.
I drink 2 or 3 of them a day as in between meal snacks or as a beverage with breakfast. It is a great way to make sure you are getting adequate amounts of protein, this is especially important as your appetite decreases with ketosis. If you are working out you really need the protein to fuel your body.
PISTACHIO:
ice, water, vanilla protein powder, a lil SF Pistachio Pudding mix.
BUTTERSCOTCH:
ice, water, vanilla protein powder, a lil SF Butterscotch Pudding mix. This could also be done with chocolate
protein powder.
WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE:
ice, ater, van. protein powder, lil WCM SF pudding mix.
The varieties are endless!*S*
from labeam:
I keep them simple and throw in whatever sounds good at the time.
My Basic starter is always the same (sorry I don't measure anything)
- shot of cream
- 2 packets of equal
- 2 scoops Whey PP
- ice...
additional ingredients:
- banana extract and walnuts (my current fave)
- few frozen berries and vanilla (if I can spare the carbs for the day)
- Chocolate Davinci syrup and almonds
- coffee, Davinci chocolate syrup, Davinci carmel syrup, and nuts (Snickers)
- cinnamon extract and vanilla
- SF pudding powder-many flavors- about a T, I'd guess
- SF jello powder-again many flavors
- Rasp syrup and banana extract
Some people put raw egg in them to make creamier, but yuck...I just use extra PP.

CHUNKY MONKEY:
Chocolate Protein Pdr.
dash Banana extract
Could add some nut butter (peanut, almond, etc.)

DREAMSICLE:
Vanilla protein Pdr.
1 T. SF Orange flavored Citrucel
dash Vanilla extract

WATERMELON CREAM:
Vanilla protein Pdr.
1/2 tsp. Crystal Light Watermelon Strawberry powder

CHOCOMINT:
Chocolate protein Pdr.
Cold coffee/ or Instant granules
Peppermint Extract

EGGNOG:
Vanilla protein Pdr,
dash of Vanilla extract
dash of Cinnamon and Nutmeg
lil cream

CHOCOLATE COVERED RASBERRY:
Chocolate Protein Pdr.
1/2 tsp. Crystal Light Raspberry

PEACH FROST:
Vanilla Protein Pdr.
Crystal Light Refresher: Peach, Passion Fruit, Raspberry

PISTACHIO:
ice, water, vanilla protein powder, a lil SF Pistachio Pudding mix.
BUTTERSCOTCH:
ice, water, vanilla protein powder, a lil SF Butterscotch Pudding mix. This could also be done with chocolate protein powder.
WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE:
ice, water, van. protein powder, lil White Choc Mousse SF pudding mix.
The varieties are endless!*S*

My simple chocolate shake recipe that I make for breakfast almost every day: 1 serving chocolate protein powder (varies by brand) and 7 oz Hood Calorie Countdown chocolate milk. Mix together with my immersion blender and I am set! Simple and not very carbby. Sometimes I will add 1/4 tsp of cinnamon for a different taste.

I am not particular to one brand. I use what I can find and what is reasonably priced. Currently I am using Designer Whey protein powder chocolate flavored that I found in a 5 pound box for about $5 on special at Wal-Mart. Designer Whey is a great brand and can be found locally in the health food stores. I think adding the chocolate flavored powder to the chocolate Calorie Countdown is the best tasting shake. You wanted the best tasting for the least carbs and it is very simple. I got the idea from Dana Carpender's Low-Carb Smoothies book. It was well worth the investment. I got the book while pregnant and wanting some varitey with my shakes and because I could handle the extra carbs I made a good many of them in the book. It is great for summertime! Let me know if you are interested in any of the recipes--I can PM some for you to try. They are copyrighted recipes and cannot be posted on the web.

Where in Wal-Mart would I look for this (what section of the store)?

Thanks.
