Kevin, I'm so glad you tried this recipe. I did not get back to answer you question as I was traveling all day. However, I was going to try the calcium caseinate. I don't have cocoa butter, but I will get some to try. I think white chocolate needs lots of vanilla. Perhaps that all your recipe needs to taste like white chocolate.

Practically none.
there is
1/2 carb in the calcium caseinate
1 carb for 1/4 cup pecans
whatever sweetener you use so none if you use liquid splenda
none that I know in the cocoa butter and coconut oil.

Just wanted to let you know that almond bark (the kind you buy in the store) is pretty high in carbs. I don't know if there is a homemade version recipe around, but maybe...

What sweetner do you guys prefer to use with the bark?
Can you use sf syrup, and if so - the same amount as the recipe calls for? Or do you use more, or less?

2 oz nute (optional)

Melt the coconut oil to a liquid, add in cocoa powder and sweetner. Stir to combine and blend well.

Blend nuts into chocolate mixture (Optional)

Have chlled a metal bakeware lasagna or cake pan or pans in freezer for 10 minuttes or so. Remove from freezer and line with waxed paper. Then pour mixture into chilled pan and spread to desired thickness.

Pop in refrigerator or freezer on level shelf and let sit 10 minutes or so. It will harden quickly and breaks with a snap.

I have a question for those of you who've made this. Only a very small portion came out of this recipe. I ate it all in one BITE! Is that the normal size?

By the way it was AB FAB!!!! I didnt use VIRGIN coconut oil but just regular expeller pressed. Still it turned out great.

Ive been eating 2-4 T of coconut oil a DAY now and Ive been losing on a steady basis. (Lost another lb today!)

Can you use the coconut oil that you get from walmart, that comes in a solid?

Quick Question

Help! I tried to make some bark last night, and obviously did something wrong. I used 2T virgin coconut oil, 1T cocoa, and 1 T kaluha Davinci. I melted the oil and mixed the Davinci and Cocoa powder into that. After freezing, the result was sort of a white harder substance floating on top of a very bitter chocolatey mess. I wonder if the Davinci made it too liquidy. Should I maybe try with sweetzfree? I also realize the original recipe appears to be 4 T of oil to 1T cocoa. Can anyone share a very basic recipe so that I can try and get it right once before experiementing? I can't eat nuts, so I'm just looking for the plain chocolate.

Thanks.

Tim

Thank you for the recipe. I made this last night. I added some Vanilla Whey protein powder into it (I didn't want any bitter taste and wanted it more like Milk chocolate) I also added Shredded Coconut (no sugar added) and chopped almonds. It was really good!! Like others have said...I almost felt guilty it was so good! I had been putting coconut oil in my tea (to get more coconut oil in my body) but this is WAY better. I love it.

It did take away my appetite and I was shocked that I was down a pound this morning.

I also threw some ground FLAX into mine instead of nuts. It was mighty yummmmmy too!

This bark is sooo wonderful. Sinfully so!

This is the recipe I've been following:

6T coconut oil
1T cocoa powder
12-15 drops Stevia
1T Natural peanut butter

Mix well and freeze. Only 3 carbs for the batch, which I eat half of first thing in the morning and nibble on the rest throughout the day. It REALLY curbs my appetite.

I've only been using the LouAna brand from Wal*Mart so far... but I've got a Nutiva order coming today so I can try it with that tomorrow. Since eating coconut bark every day the weight has been flying off me. Down 2 more pounds since yesterday!

I'm not sure if you guys/gals count the calories in the coconut oil... I've been up in the air about doing that... but I've noticed that my food intake is so much less that, even with counting in the coconut oil calories, I am only eating between 1400-1600 each day.

-Thanks!

I find it very shocking to eat candy and lose weight!

I sure did try this recipe at the right time. Easter candy isn't even going to be a temptation at all.

I'm thrilled with this recipe. I was trying to get more CO in my diet and was adding it to my tea. This way I get WAY more CO and can enjoy my tea without it being greasy (and eat a piece of candy at the same time).

LOVE this recipe.

Peeps don't have a chance. This morning I added unsweetened shredded coconut to mine and, if I add some almonds, I SWEAR it would be an Almond Joy, one of my FAVOURITE candy bars...uh, OLD FAVS!!!

I eat 6T of coconut oil a day since that seems to be the amount ~I~ need to burn fat. I believe most people are calling a serving 3T.

Now, I eat 3/4th of mine right after breakfast. It tends to keeps me full feeling all day. The rest I will nibble on here and there when I want a little 'something' in my mouth or if I want a little 'something' to eat between meals.

Now, I've checked and, of course, I am out of ketosis during the morning after eating it however, by noon, I am more likely than not between moderate and the darkest purple HIGH ketosis... and stay that way all afternoon and night.

I believe everyone can find a good balance of CO to take that suits them.

I put butter on my eggs in the morning along with heavy cream in my coffee. I usually eat between 2-4 ounces of cheese each day (I restarted Induction April Fool's Day), some from my meats and some from using CO to fry things in.

It is TOTALLY easy to incorperate CO into your daily life. I just got a recipe for 1 minute microwave muffins which puts 2T of CO in it. Something to easily eat with breakfast.

Deila,
Can you share your 1 min micro muffin recipe?

I have a lot of VCO and reg CO. Are they both just as effective or does it have to be the VCO?

SWEET
2tbsp coconut oil, warmed ( 0 carbs)
1 large egg (.8g carbs)
1/4 c flax meal (8g carbs-8g fiber = 0 NET carbs)
stevia (maybe 4-6 drops) ( 0 carbs)

Mix well in coffee cup, nuke on high for 1 minute. VOILA!!! Top with whatever sweet you like, SF syrup, butter, etc.

SAVORY
2tbsp coconut oil, warmed ( 0 carbs)
1 egg (.8g carbs)
1/4C flax meal (8g carbs-8g fiber = 0 NET carbs)
1/2teasp salt ( 0 carbs)

Add shakes of whatever herb you like (I put in some garlic and onion powder), mix well in coffee cup, nuke on high 1 minute. These are good with breakfast!!

So, each muffin is about 1g of carb. I would probably use the regular CO for the savory muffins and use the VCO for the sweet ones. I am guessing your VCO smells and tastes like coconut?

I'd suggest using your imagination and create your own types. Next time I'll add some extra sweetener and some unsweetened coconut. My savory ones I'll put in some chopped onion and cheese...just a little!!!

Hope this helped ya!!!

Hi Tim,
I just made a double batch with coconut and chopped pecans. I use Sweetzfree. I had to stir it for a little bit becasue it started out kind of separated. I wonder if 1 Tbls Davinci would be enounh sweetness

I just put mine in a chilled glass flat container (lined with no stick foil and put in the frig.

Good luck next time,
Beth

OH, I did dip a couple of strawberries in the chocalate while still warm, before puting it in the frig YUM!

I have made this bark several time now with great results but last night I made a batch that I would pit against any commercial candy bar.

1/2 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup extra dark Hershey's cocoa powder (4 carbs)
1/4 cup granular erythritol (ground into powder for a volume of almost 1/2 cup)
18 drops sweetzfree (3/4 cup equivilent)
1/4 cup pecan halfs (chopped) (1 carb)
1/4 t. peanut butter loranns flavor oil

This made a piece of bark 8" x 8" x 1/4" thick.

All I can say is WOW!!
