Availability of Hood Calorie Count Down Milk

Over the last 2-3 months, all of the grocery stores that carried Hood Low Carb milk have stopped carry it.

Is any one else experiencing this?

Yep - super Walmart is the only place in my area (Austin) where I can still find it. Just about the only thing that can be done is to vote with your dollars: if you keep purchasing a product, they will keep stocking it; if you seldom purchase a product, they will quit stocking it.

No, all of the stores around me still carry it. I even bought the 2% kind (the one in the blue container) that I thought they had discontinued.

If you ask your grocery store they might be willing to get it for you.

I had the same problem, used to get it my local grocery store, now I can only find it a Super Walmart, which is a 45 minute drive and I absolutely hate shopping at. So basically, once a month I go and buy I couple of cartons, which holds me until the next month.

Girl..

There are Meijer's around, but they are further for me than the Super Wal. No biggie.. having my Hood CC is worth the drive .. its even worth going into stinky SWM. I keep hoping for a Meijer to open up closer to me, but nothing so far.

I've seen this now labeled as calorie countdown. I assume it's the same but I really don't remember how many carbs the carb countdown had.

It's the same amount of carbs. All they did was change the name of the milk. When companies started getting off the LC bandwagon a lot of them just changed their product(s) name.

I buy mine at Kroger.

Super WalMart here is the only place I find it, too.

I bought it regularly at Publix & they still discontinued it. It was discontinued at all their stores.

Sometimes if you request an item from your local store they will start ordering it for you.

I can fid it all the super walmarts here as well as some of the Krogers, at Meijer and at Jungle Jims. So its still around.

I seen a post on another board, where the writer stated that thier grocery dairy clerk said Hood is soon to discontinue the Calorie Countdown line. I Hope this is not true. I sent them an email asking them if its being discontinued and am waiting on a response. The automated reply said I shoud receive a reply in two business days. I'll report back once I get a response. *crosses fingers for good news!*

I can still buy the Hood's Calorie Countdown in whole and 2% at my local Brookshire Brothers in Texas and believe me this store doesn't stock a lot of stuff I would like it to.

The lady who does my grocery shopping for me insists that no store in town carries the Carb Countdown milk! I appreciate learning that it is now called "Calorie Countdown." It's quite possible that she's been looking right at it on the shelf all along and just didn't recognize it!

Well I'm happy to report Wegmans has brought back the Skim and Chocolate milks and Redner's has continued to carry the chocolate and 2% milk even as the low carb trend faded over the past year.

I can't believe the grocery stores have a "wall of soy" milks and it's what too much space to carry the Calorie Countdown??? I'm just glad it's all back and both stores are very close. We go through three 1/2 gallons a week!

Good news!

Yay!

I mentioned earlier that I had emailed Hood asking about the milk, since I had read on another board where someone posted that their local grocer said Hood is discontuning the product. So I emailed Hood to ask if it is going to be discontinued, and here is the response I received:

We are not discontinuing Calorie Countdown Dairy Beverages. Although
we make this product available to our retailers, it is up to each
individual retailer to decide which of our products to carry in each
particular store. These are available at Wal-Mart Supercenters nationally. If
you are unable to locate it, we suggest you speak with the dairy
manager and ask if it can be ordered in.
