Can I substitute yellow mustard for stone ground mustard?

I saw a recipe for broccoli viniagrette salad that calls for using stone ground mustard, which I do not have. I do have yellow mustard though. I guess it will taste a lot different using yellow mustard, but will it be bad??

Can I substitute yellow mustard for stone ground mustard?

Yes, you can do that, but it won't have the "bite" that stone ground has..It might be the horseradish in it...Just make the dressing and then taste it..you might have to jazz it up with other spices to make it flavorful..

How much does the recipe call for?

Stone ground mustard is "chunky" where yellow mustard is smooth, I'd start with less and add to taste. It will change the color of the finished product too, as stone ground is a tannish/brownish shade, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

The stone ground mustard I have is just that - no horseradish in it. I love it!

Do you have Dijon? You could use that instead with a little more similar result....
