Dairy-free baking?

I'm looking for some advice.......I've been advised to eliminate dairy foods from my diet.

Has anyone used soy milk or creamer in baking, especially combined with Carbquik?

Any other bits of advice for substitutions in recipes?

I need all the help I can get!

Coconut milk and cream is also a good substitute for dairy.

Kefir can be used in place of butter milk.

Dairy free

I have been alergic to milk and all milk products since birth....I have never had a problem using non-dairy creamer for cooking...it IS a bit sweeter than milk, and will boil over the edges of a pan if left on the stove, but all in all, my kids can't tell the difference between dishes cooked with Creamora and milk. I have just started using Coconut milk and Soy Milk - I only use Soy milk if the recipe is highly flavored, otherwise, you get that nasty dry soy taste...Silk seems to be the best brand to use. Good luck.... Try looking for vegan recipes...most are dairy free.
