Pei Wei Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps?

Does anyone have an idea on how to do these low carb of course? I loved them but have no idea. I know they have chicken and portabella mushrooms with spicy soy sauce? Any help would be appreciated.

I found this old recipe in my pre-Atkins recipe files...
I guess you can sub chicken and leave out the honey.

ASIAN PORK IN LETTUCE LEAVES
Serves 4

4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
Half tsp salt
1 heaped tsp ground black pepper
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
4 tbsp chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
450g/1lb lean minced pork
4 tbsp chopped bamboo shoots
3 - 4 tbsp Thai fish sauce (nam pla) or light soy sauce
2 tbsp runny honey
2 birds' eye chillies, finely chopped (optional HOT)
3 shallots, thinly sliced
2 large oranges, segmented
2 tbsp each chopped fresh mint
4 little Gem lettuces (like baby Romaine), separated into leaves

Heat a large frying pan or wok.
Mix together the garlic, salt, pepper, lime juice and half of the coriander in a small bowl.
Tip the garlic mixture into a pan and spray well with Pam or just use oil and stir-fry for 30 seconds, then add the shallots and stir fry until starting to brown then add the pork and stir-fry for 8-10 minutes until well browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks with a wooden spoon.

Add the bamboo shoots, fish sauce or soy, honey and chillies to the pork mixture and cook for another 5 minutes or until the liquid has almost completely evaporated.

Place the remaining shallot in a bowl with the orange segments and a heaped teaspoon each of mint and coriander. Mix until well combined and pile into the middle of a large plate or platter. Stir in the remaining mint and coriander into the pork mixture and use to fill the lettuce leaves, arranging them around the orange salad. Serve at once.

92 calories, not carbs?

According to this nutritional data, it's 92 calories for half the dish and just 10 carbs for half. One dish of sauce is 5 carbs. At least, I'm assuming these are the same lettuce wraps of which you speak.

Nope, this came directly from P.f. Changs who own Pei Wei. 630 calories, 44 grams of protein, 92 carbs, 8 fat, and 2 saturated fat. It seems like a lot to me also, but that is what they said. Maybe they cook the chicken in sugar, or honey, Anyway, it was really upsetting. Perhaps some one else wants to email them and see if they get the same answer.

Lewister, I just went on your site, and boy is that great. She must have gotten confused about calories and carbs. Oh you have made me happy. I'm there. Julie, P.s. thanks for the cool site.
