Tried these tonight, one all flax and one half flax half almond meal. We toasted half of each bun to see which we liked best.
I liked both versions toasted best. DH said the almond version toasted was best.
I'll try these again for sure. Golden flax next time plus almond meal.

One of the things I miss is a burger or sandwich on a bun. I just did this bun with slices of pork butt I smoked and it satisfied that desire very well. The bun handled very well and led me to think of several other ideas on how to use it.

This original recipe, with 1/2 almond flour and 1/2 flax, has 44g fat, 10g carbs, 14g protein, and 460 calories. That's if you count carbs, instead of net carbs. It does have 8g fiber, so if you count net carbs, you could say this has 2 carbs. Just wanted to clarify, for those of us who count carbs instead of net carbs.
It really does hold up well! and really does taste like wheat bread!
