Canned coconut question

I found an old recipe for a coconut pie, which sounds very easy to make, but it calls for a can of coconut. Anyone know how many ounces are in a can? The USDA site lists canned coconut, but doesn't say how much is in one can. Obviously I would substitute unsweetened coconut, but I need to know how much.

Im not 100% positive, but I think a can of coconut is 10 oz.

I was going to guess either 7 ounces or 10 ounces. When I do my shopping on Wednesday, I'll see if they still sell it in cans. I have a feeling that they don't since the Baker's/Angel Flake site didn't list anything other than bags. Seems like a silly thing to come in cans anyway.

Be sure to share your pie recipe... I have some unsweetened "macaroon" coconut that is very finely grated. I might just use it as an almond flour substitute. I'm not sure how it would do in a pie. I'm looking for a french coconut pie type recipe without any pudding mix involved. I hope this is what you are working on.
