CarbSense makes a ranch dressing. I haven't tried it yet but I just posted a thread asking if any one has tried any of thier products. I love the peanutbutter and BBQ sauce. It should be in any grocery store

I am still confused over lable readings.. Maybe you can help....Some ranch dressing state that there are 0 to 1 carb per serving.. yet in the ingr. list it state sugar as the third or fourth listing.. Can you still eat this product or....avoid it all together? Is the sugar a natural occuring one lets say in the milk they use......whew

Ranch dressing

Here is a recipe that I really like, but I don't remember where I got it. Hopefully someone will claim it!
Jenita

Ranch Dressing

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. dried chives
1/2 tsp. dried parsley
1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
dash of Splenda (1/4 packet)

Combine all ingredients and blend with hand blender. Chill 30 minutes before serving. I think it has about 11 carbs for the whole thing and makes 1 1/2 c., so that would be around .5 carb per T. It is quite thick, so sometimes I thin it with a little cream or buttermilk.

Mmorris.
Good question about sugar.......I think sugar is sugar no matter if it is refined or not. The carbsense peanuttbutter has less that one gram of sugar per serving. Which is still pretty good. I will have to pay closer attention to that and not get carried away when eating those things.
Thanks,
Cindy

This is what I do. I buy the Hidden Valley Ranch powder, I add the mayo like it calls for but instead of the milk I use my carb options dairy drink. It's EXACTLY like the real thing and since I like mine really thin I add more "milk" then it calls for and it has even less calories and carbs per serving.

I've used Carb Countdown to made the Hidden Valley. Very thick and tastes much better, to me, than the bottled. Ken's Steakhouse Ranch is a good bottled option with only 1 carb per serving. Haven't tried making Ranch totally from scratch.

I've gotten a large bottle of the Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix from Sams. I mix together 1 cup mayo, 1 cup cream and 3 Tablespoons, level, of the mix. It makes a nice thick dressing which is what we like. I count 1 gram of carbs per serving which I think may be high, but it's better to err on the high side than to underestimate what you're getting.
