rutabaga (carb/fiber count)

Just trying to find out the carb and fiber count of a Rutabaga (spelling??) It is not listed in the carb counting books that I have. THANK YOU
I read that some of you fry them like french fries...what else can you do with this veggie?

Per Corinne T. Netzer's book:

Rutabaga, 1/2 cup
Fresh, cubed, raw 5.7 gms Carb/1.8 gms fiber
Fresh, cubed, boiled, raw 7.4/1.5
Fresh, boiled, drained, mashed 10.5/2.2
Canned (Sunshine brand) 7.0/3.0

Check the recipe room for ways to prepare it. I've never tried to make "fries".

I cut it into cubes and add it to stews, soups and pot roast instead of potatoes. They keep their shape during slow cooking recipes and the flavour of the cooking liquid gets infused in the rutabagas - very yummy! Unlike potatoes, they don't break down as easily during slow cooking.
