How do you make your hidden valley ranch dressing from the packet?

How do you make your hidden valley ranch dressing from the packet? My mom doubles the mayo (2 cups) and adds 1 cup water. Today I tried 1/2 heavy cream 1/2 water with 1 cup mayo. Hers is really thick and i love it but I don't like the calorie factor but mine is too runny. What is your secret? How many carbs are in the packet? It says 1 for 2 T prepared with milk. If I made it with cream and water, how much would it be?

1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup water.

Sometimes I will use mayo with 1 cup buttermilk. I don't think you are getting too many carbs when you only use a couple of tablespoons on a salad....

I make it by the directions. 1 carb per 2 Tbl is still perfectly legal. No more than the bottled version.

We always use sour cream and a LITTLE bit of water. Comes out perfect.

Stats: Bigger than I ought to be, smaller than I was.
WOE: Drastically reduced carbs.
I found some dry dressing packs at Fred Meyer yesterday that were no carbs. I checked the ingredients and didn't find any hidden starches or sugars. It's thickened with xanthan gum. It could be of help to you if you would like to reduce carbs. The dressings were made by Uncle Dan's and were Southern style or Ranch flavored.

I use Penzey's peppercorn blend - its amazing, I make it for dips too!
Here's their description:
This robust, pepper and herb dressing will enhance the heartiest salad. Great spread on turkey or roast beef sandwiches, or used as a dip for fresh garden vegetables. Also nice for dressing potato or pasta salad. Mix 1 TB. seasoning with 2 TB. water, let stand 5 minutes, then whisk with 1 /2 Cup sour cream and 1 /2 Cup mayonnaise. Thin with a few tablespoons of vinegar or water. Reduced fat mayo or sour cream can be used, and yogurt works well as a replacement for sour cream. Hand-mixed from: Tellicherry cracked black pepper, coarse salt, garlic, sugar, thyme, parsley.

They also have a buttermilk ranch one, but I'm not crazy about buttermilk so I haven't tried it.
