Violet,
I too am on my 2nd week. Would you like to be my buddy? This way we would have someone to bounce things off of, and I have many, many questions. You can contact me through a reply to this, I think, or if that doesn't work my email is: splashingmom@gmail.com. I don't know about you, but I could really, really use the help. I am so glad I just happened upon this site as I somhow muddled through week 1 by following the book to the letter. Thank you, Sheila |

Gearing up to start on Monday on week 1, first round. Will post menus here. Feel free to give suggestions.
Anything I should expect? I'm a slightly backslidding low carber for many years. I'm intrigued by the whole concept of a lifetime way of life. Janie |

Help me please!!!
I have read the book thru cycle 1. I went to the grocery store and bought a few items; spinich, romaine, string cheese, eggs, chix breast (low sodium), and ground turkey (99% fat free).
I don't know where to start, what to eat, or how much to eat. I am sounding like I haven't read the book at all, but I feel as though it's a little too vage. I have read many posts from others who have posted their cycle 1 menues but can I trust those posts are accurate?? I really really want to start this in the morning but I don't want to start and stop because I am missing something. Anyone, please!! I need some guidence! Anxiously awaiting, ~Andrea |

Andrea - Relax and breathe! You are going to be fine.
Eat protein and fat at every meal. on 2 or 3 of the meals add those approved veggies (remember to count the net carbs for veggies and condiments) and don't go over 20 per day. Good Luck Post your menus for review if you like! |

hi-On my first week
I am so glad to find this forum! I am on day 3 of week one. I don't eat a lot of carbs in general because they make me feel so bad (I have blood sugar issues). As a result I don't expect a big loss the first week but I do expect to feel better on a regular basis.

I was all geared up to restart Atkins (quite successful with it 10+ years ago but despite staying relatively lowcarb over the years, I have gradually regained 50 of the 73 pounds I lost, waaah). Anyway, I've always felt that my body had somehow gotten accustomed to low carbing and it just wasn't working for me anymore, obviously. I joined LC Friends for some Atkins motivation, and read about the CTFLC and thought it might be just the ticket to un-stick my metabolism. I found the book on Friday and decided to plunge right in!
Since I was pretty well set up for Atkins, and the first week of CTFLC is basically Atkins Induction, I felt ready to, go. (Well, sort of--I hate egg whites, and I had bought some bacon for Atkins so I will make those very minor modifications and hope it works out). Plus I slept in really late so only got in four meals this first day. Menu yesterday: M1: 2 WE scrambled with 2 pcs of bacon cut up into them 2 cups of coffee with liquid splenda and 2 carbs worth of cream M2: 1/c cup cottage cheese M3: Stuffed cabbage M4: 4 oz chicken breast with one cup broccoli w a little butter So far today: M1: 2 WE scrambled with 2 pcs of bacon cut up into them 2 cups of coffee with liquid splenda and 2 carbs worth of cream M2: Chicken breast with one cup broccoli w a little butter For lunch I will finish the stuffed cabbage, and for dinner, I've already crock-potted a turkey breast so will have that with broccoli, and for snacks today I might try a protein shake and/or cottage cheese. I'm really excited about this diet, and hope it might be the ticket for me! After all these years of experimentation I know that low-carbing is the only way I can ever lose weight, and if this diet can help me avoid the endless plateaus I endured I will be oh so grateful! |

CYCLE AND DAY: Week 1 Day 3
MENU: M1 - egg, egg whites, mushrooms, peppers, spinach sauteed in canola topped with 1/4 cheese 2 carbs total M2 - romaine lettuce, imitation crab, 1 tsp ~ butter, cukes, 1 TBSP olive oil, 1 TBSP light ranch (3 carbs for 2 TB, so 1.5 for a 1/2 serving) 1.5 gm carbs M3 - celery with blended cottage cheese/yogurt & ranch dip 3 gms carbs M4 - cheese stick 1 gm carb M5 - fish coated with milled flax seed and pan 'fried' in Pam and a bit of canola, 1/2c brocc w/1 tsp butter, a green romaine salad with malt vinegar/olive oil dressing. 3 carbs M6 - sunflower seeds - 3 carbs Also - a new favorite yummy dinner is a large romaine leaf stuffed with ground beef, heavily seasoned with homemade taco seasoning (1 gm carb) and topped with cheese and sauteed veggies. After deplete week I'll add salsa and avocado to it - but it got rave reviews even from the kids and it's magazine recipe picture gorgeous on the plate. Please note - no guarantees that this is all 'by the book' as I know I made some mistakes during deplete week (some unintentional, one or two as tweaks). I lost 5 pounds during deplete week after coming from a previous low carb diet and my days during deplete week were pretty typical of this above. Last edited by RunnerMom_14; 05-01-2009 at 11:23 AM.. Yes, you can have pork but it is not a preferred protein because our body does not use efficiently.

I got the book "conquer the weightloss code", which is a sequel to " Crack...:"; it stated that whether I was new to Wendy Chant or continuing her lifestyle eating this book would do; so I read it and there is NO where in this book where "A" deplete menu to be found, so how can I start this if I can't do week one...can anyone help me. I want to start saturday, so I have this week but no store in town has Crack the Weight Loss Code, so I don't know what to do. Can anyone tell me what I can eat?
