I woke up late so probably only going to get 2 meals in.
Lunch: A big salad with romaine, cheddar, sunflower seeds, bacon, carrots and homemade HV Ranch dressing. Love that dressing! Dinner: A big ol' burger (probably about 8 oz) with 2 pieces Kraft Deli Deluxe American cheese melted over the top. |

Can I post my not so low-carb friendly menu? Usually I'm pretty good, but hubby and I went to a wine tasting, which usually means just cheese for me -- but tonight was a little different.
Let me start off by saying that for breakfast I had 2 eggs fried with a little feta cheese sprinkled on top with a veggie mix of broccoli, green beans, mushrooms and onions, which I had very late because I had Bunco last night and I have to sleep in when I have Bunco (we're not called the drunko bunco for nothing!) For dinner, we had five different wines, which were paired with the following foods: (because it's St. Patty's day and all) first we had smoked salmon with a spring pea puree and lemon caper aioli; then lamb shepherd's pie (I picked the one with the smallest amount of mashed potatoes on top); boxty, which is sour cream, chives, and pepper potato (couldn't avoid them here, but the cake was really small) cakes served with a mustard cream and arugula salad; then corn beef and colcannon; and last was a Ploughman's platter -- bangers (sausage), Stilton blue cheese, and mustard seed Cheddar. It was, for the most part, really good food and very small servings, but a lot of carbs, nonetheless. I exercised this morning in preparation for this, but I know the consequences. |
