Looks good to me.
As for where to post your menus, join a challenge group and your new friends will help you daily. I always post my menu in our "Whatever It Takes" challenge because it helps me with accountability, but also because the other members sometimes spot trends that I haven't noticed. |

The only thing that I see that shouldn't be eaten is the LOW FAT bacon. When they take the fat OUT they replace it with sugar. Not a good thing. Also, your fat percentage is under 60%....not a good thing either.....eat regular full fat bacon if you are going to eat it.
I buy bulk bacon and fry it up for my own bacon bits, etc. Also, you might want to do a search for the post nobimbo did a while back....about why you want to eat higher fat with Atkins, not low fat. Otherwise, it looks ok. Want to see one of mine (while I was losing)? To compare to? That might help you. B: Four slices of bacon, two eggs scrambled with two tablespoons of shredded cheddar on them. 20 ounces of water, 12 ounces of coffee with Davinci's (no carbs). Snack: Large rib of celery with cream cheese (one ounce). 20 ounces of water. Lunch: Three cups of salad veggies (celery bits, lettuces, diced gr. pepper, diced cucumber), a few sm. pieces of tomato, one tablespoon bacon bits, one hard boiled egg chopped, one thin slice ham diced or some chicken/whatever meat is left over),two tablespoons shredded cheese, two tablespoons full fat ranch dressing. 20 ounces of water, one multi vitamin (Twinlab Daily One w/o iron), one cal/mag(500cag/250magnesium), one EFA (Health From the Sun brand Total EFA). Snack: Two flaxseed muffins with butter on them. 20 ounces of water (you are done with water..now you can have a cup of coffee or a diet soda with dinner). Dinner: 4 to 6 ounces of ANY meat, poultry, seafood, fish. Side salad of two cups of salad mix (see lunch salad) with one tablespoon of olive oil/vinegar dressing, one cup of hot lc veggie (asparagus, gr. beans, etc.). 8 ounces of Carb Countdown Chocolate Milk heated (or not) as a bedtime 'snack'. I eat more fat in the form of olive oil and less protein than your menu's list and lots of exercise plus I don't eat bacon very often because of the sodium content. My salads include a lot of celery/ english cucumber/ watercress and strips of green pepper dressed in cold pressed olive oil. Angie |

Pam
PaM: thanks for the sample menu, it helped. Actually the bacon I am eating in low fat (meaning they cut off the fat) beef bacon smoked. I know the other stuff is really scary to eat with the sugars. I liked your menu, can't wait until I can actually eat muffins and stuff again....people told me I should wait for low carb bread... I'm scared of gaining, considering my history....
thanks. |

To Diane
Yes I do actually measure it. When I went home for the summer my brother just started dumping the cream in my coffee. I was shocked! I probably would like to do that, but I know I can't have cream unless I limit myself.
Thanks |

Your salads sounds great! I am also working on making them special. We don't have as many yummy things to add out here, but last night I made a tuna salad with capers, cukes, lettuce, sliced olives, olive oil, fresh ground pepper, and a sliced egg. My whole family is eating salads now. I guess they know if they want me to fix the dinner (which is actually our lunch) they got to get on the salad wagon!
take care jen |

I guess I'm lucky to be living in a small English market town where salads and fresh veg is grown all year round in tunnels and sold on the market stalls. I can pick up fresh produce twice a week on my split shift days. When I have no time I buy frozen veg like broccoli/cauliflower/spinach and have large portions of that instead. Some of my children are vegetarian and I make sure that their food is mainly following lower carb principals they eat regular pasta but smaller portions than before I discovered Atkins None of my children or dh are overweight they are all active so at last am I. If you ask for "fresh side pork" from a meat market, that's a no sugar kind, but your beef bacon is actually lower in fat, therefore will count as more protein (and more protein could mean changing to glucose). The muffins I listed ARE for induction...look for the recipe in the Recipe Rooms here for "Dobie's Muffins".....I try and get my percentages (during my weightloss phase...remember...I can't EVER add back bread, or gluton or soy...I'm Celiac and Hashimoto's) at about 60% fat, 5 to 10% carbs and the rest protein. I lost about 1/2 pound a DAY on menu's like the one I just posted. I never worried about the sugar used to cure the bacon....I always worried there would be less FAT on it...that would have impeded my weightloss. Good luck to you in your weightloss endeavors. Pam |

Pam: Hi, I was wondering what you meant by "I'm Celiac and Hashimoto's) at about 60% fat, 5 to 10% carbs and the rest protein." Can you tell me?
Angie: Good idea about the kids, better to start them off right.... |

When you have Celiac disease, you cannot have any wheat, or gluten (no bread, no flour, no glutens, etc.) and Hashimoto's is autoimmune hypothyroid...so I can't have soy either (plus I'm allergic to it).
But...even with hypothyroid (UNTREATED for the first 53 pounds lost) I lost like that with those percentages. Pam |
