Morning all,

Hope you are al doing well. Starting the busy holiday season. Work is heating up for the next few weeks, plus getting ready for the holiday. The band has four gigs this month. We put our tree this weekend and what a fiasco it was. We bought it on Friday and brought it home and put in its stand. Went to put the lights on yesterday and realized that the stand was leaking. Since I am such a smarty pants, I had put a layer of plastic under the stand so at least our carpet wasn't soaked. But I had to go out and buy another stand. We already had the lights on so changing the stands wasn't so terrible, but can you imagine if it was fully decorated? Then I realized that 1/2 of one string of lights wasn't working. Got that fixed. Then the lights on our topper wasn't working, tried to replace the bulbs but they just kept going out. And finally I couldn't find the 2013 silver snowflake ornament that we got last year. My mom started in 1975 to give me one every year. Since she passed away I give them to family member, including myself. But for the life of me I couldn't find it and was getting really upset. I looked everywhere! As we were heading to bed, I spotted it, next to the desk. Relief!!!!!

My weight it up, my eating not so good. I've come to realize that with what we have been through over the last few months, my body does not have any reserves. I've started taking my vitamins again--its the only way I can get through the day without needing a nap. I'm going to work at eating better over the next few weeks and get back on track strictly after the holidays. Just doing the best I can.

Have a great day all!

Hi Slimmers.

Weight was down 0.2 lbs at weigh in today, but considering I ate out on Thanksgiving (and indulged in some carbs) and ate out at Red Robin last night (I had a lettuce wrapped bacon cheeseburger and endless steamed broccoli, lol), I think I did good.

I'm packing to leave for Germany tomorrow. Land of carbs and beer! I'll do the best I can while enjoying the goodies some.

Beth: Oh, the adventures of tree decorating! I'm sure now that it's done, it's beautiful. I hope DH's GI symptoms are better. Be kind to yourself. Try to get more rest and I think the vitamins will help. Eating better will come in time. I'll be joining you being strict after the holidays. And since I'll be working less, I need to start getting some exercise, which will help things along.

Hi to everyone else! I know this is such a busy time for all.

Hey Slimmers!

I made it through the first big holiday shopping weekend! I was NOT happy Sunday when I saw that they only had me closing with ONE cashier, and ONE floor person (I also had one person in framing, but that doesn't help when we are swamped up front). Can you believe that? We had a 50% off coupon and some pretty good deals going on still... fortunately the other manager before she left, asked two of the cashiers to stay an extra hour, and by the time they left it had slowed down (because customers apparently don't realize we are open until 9 on Sunday for the holidays (instead of 7). Whew! I am taking it one day at a time, but looking forward to things slowing back down.

Food wise I am trying to do better. TOM is here and in full swing, so I am hoping he takes a few lbs with him when he goes. I am determined to get my weight back down, and I am not waiting until after the holidays. I don't play to eat cookies and holiday food every day, so why wait? Why gain even MORE weight before the 1st of the year? I can least try! lol!

Have a truck load of stress (as usual right?) and it doesn't make eating healthy any easier, but I am slowly trying to get back on track. Not FMD on track yet, but better choices and cutting out the soda on track lol...

OK, I'm tired.. going to check back in tomorrow....

Hello all. Missing posting in here a lot. I weighed last night and was worried because I am still so off on my eating. I don't have enough money, me and bf having been bickering off and on, work is stressful with a contract that may not get renewed so I might not have a job in a few months, illness and holidays. Surprisingly the scale said 214.6 so I have only gained 2 lbs! HOW??? I do know that even though my eating is off I still am eating less overall, that is probably the only explanation.

I am sick again.. I am at work typing this and have been woozy and nauseous all day and been in the bathroom about 6 times if you know what I mean (sorry TMI) this is all at WORK! I don't know if I should just say I need to go home or what! I have tried several things and I still don't feel better. I feel guilty leaving work so I struggle with that, always have.. anyone else have this same problem?

I spent way too much shopping this weekend and now I am at a very scary bill place right now. I know we will work it out but I am freaking out inside for real! BF still not on a plan to get his back better, the company he worked for and has the comp claim against is dragging their feet so he is suffering in pain and irritable which is not helping the bickering at all.

We did get our tree up last night however and my son had a blast helping this year! He is getting much better at decorating at 7!! He is so proud of it, its adorable!

Diane: I am with you on trying to do better. I am setting a small goal of trying to get in the single digit 200's by January 1st. I am at 214.6 so to do that I have to lose 5 lbs. I can do that!

Beth: Don't be too hard on yourself! The eating will get better with time. You and your DH have been through a lot. I hope he is feeling better btw!

Jazzy: I hope your having fun in Germany!

Charlene: You sound busy girlie! My schedule just keeps whizzing me along also.

Rachel: I hope all is well!

WHO DID I MISS?

I hope you all have a great week!

Good morning. All is well here. Just so busy with basketball, work and getting ready for a women's Pokeno night here next Tuesday. Trying to get my house in order but a looming basketball tournament this weekend is not helping LOL. I know once it's done, and with my sister's help, it'll be good through Christmas. I have not been doing good on eating or exercising. I always have good intentions, but I give in to temptations. Really trying to get my mind right. I did do well on Good Friday shopping right from my computer! I did have a little fender bender the night of our playoff football game - got rear ended 2 blocks from the stadium. Thankfully, I was early, the guy had insurance and all is in the works to replace my bumper. The poor guy who hit me - his car took a beating. So glad to have a sturdy bumper and no injuries for either of us.

Beth - your tree fiasco was quite entertaining. I could picture the whole story playing out. LOL Glad you got it all up and working!

Diane - I can't imagine having only one checkout! I imagine the customers were a bit testy with that. I always wonder what stores are thinking when there's a busy time with limited checkouts.

Nicole - hope things start looking up for you and bf and that his health issues get resolved soon.

Jazzy - have a great time on your trip!!!

I don't know what it is about Friday's and migraines... it's low-grade, but still, I have my icky cleaning job today, then I close at the store. Long day! I teach a snowman painting class tomorrow that I'm not prepared for yet, so I will have to work on that when I get home after 11pm.

I have tried to eat somewhat better the past couple days, but I could have done WAY better. TOM is gone now, so hopefully that will help... that and staying super busy the next few days.

Charlene: Glad the accident was minor and no one was hurt!.... Fortunately it had slowed down quite a bit by the time to two extra cashiers left. I hope it's not too busy tonight.

Jazzy: Hope you are having a blast in Germany!

Nicole: Hope you are feeling better... We are within a lb of each other right now since I have gained weight after my trip. How does that happen? I swear, these days, if I just smell food I gain weight. Your goal sounds doable, let's both get into the single digits by the 1st!

Beth: I love real trees.. always had one even in Cali growing up! We aren't allowed to have real ones at the apartment complex, and I am so over the mess they make, lol, so I bought a 6' fake tree this year. I don't have it up yet, but hopefully this weekend. Last year all I had was the Charlie Brown tree the kids got me, which I loved! But.. it will be nice to have a tree I can put presents under. You'll get back on track.. you were doing SO well, and you will get there again. Believe me, I know how hard it is when you have so much going on!

Rachel: Hey girl, what's up?

Well, whatever I had before my trip seems to be back... if it was ever really gone in the first place. I started feeling queasy and stomach crampy the other night (could be unrelated.. possibly something I ate), but then yesterday UTI symptoms started up again, along with the same aches, queasiness, and hit by a bus feeling. I guess I need to go see a regular doc... the specialist was NO help at all. In doing some research, I think I need to keep drinking cranberry juice and taking probiotics... I was doing that for a while, but stopped, and now I'm sick again.

Yesterday was exhausting... I felt bad Friday night so I didn't get the snowman painting done.. Saturday I just couldn't make myself get up. I ended up changing the time of the class to 1 instead of 12 which helped and gave me time to finally get up and paint it JUST in time to leave to go teach it! yikes. The class was supposed to be 2 hours which would have given me 2 hours before my shift, but it of course ran late and I only had a half hour. Ran to get something to eat, then worked 5 to MIDNIGHT! We closed at 10! We were SO busy and I they didn't have me closing with enough people (again), so it took 2 hours to get out of there after closing.

Speaking of work.. I have to get out of bed and get ready to go again.. at least we are only open until 9 and I have good people closing tonight. We will see!

Good afternoon all!

I hope that you are all doing well. We have had a busy weekend so far. Two gigs, both private parties. One was so darn boring I thought I would fall asleep during it. A bunch of really old boring people (like into their 80s). Why they want the band for their parties is beyond me. But last night we had a great group and it was a lot of fun. My body is so very sore after two days of hauling gear and being on my feet. Today I'm staying at home, hopefully will finish decorating and finish my holiday shopping, which is just about all complete anyway. I'm making chicken and dumplings in the crock pot. Hopefully it will be as good as it sounds.

I've had a bit of an epiphany this week, actually something that I learned from FMD. I've really struggled with eating since dh's diagnosis. However, when under stress our bodies crave/need glucose to just keep operating, which would explain why I was/am a sugar eating machine. I also realized that my body has no, and I mean no, nutritional reserves. I'm formulating a plan to get back on track. I can't do it all at once but I think over the next month I can achieve some changes. The easiest thing for me to do now is take my vitamin supplements daily. I find when I take them, I don't have as much difficulty with my eating. If I learned nothing else from FMD, is that food is fuel. So I will take small steps at a time and will get better.

DH has chemo again this week. Hopefully the side effect won't be too bad. But they seem to be getting worse, which is pretty typical.

Diane--I'm concerned that you are still having symptoms. Nothing worse than having subclinical symptoms, nothing that can actually show up at the doctor, but you still feel crappy. You are working a lot that isn't going to support your healing so you can kick this thing out of your system.

Nicole--how are things going?

Charlene--when are you done for the Christmas break. I bet you are so excited for Jaxon's first Christmas. Every picture I see of him, he is so alert.

Rachel--you are rockin' it!

Jazzy--hope you are enjoying your trip.

Annette--how are you doing?

Have a great day. I feel a nap calling my name.

Good morning! I got in a Youtube workout Saturday that burned over 600 calories and I'm still feeling it today! hehehe Got a lot done on the house, including cleaning carpets last night. I think I'm taking off work tomorrow to finish up so I won't be so stressed. I have an extra comp day I haven't taken, plus I have 68 sick days that I never use. LOL I think I can afford one. Dh was really sick yesterday so hoping he doesn't spread that stuff. Two more weeks of work then off for the break. Can't wait to squeeze that baby!

Beth - you are so right about taking it slow and in control. I feel the same way.

Diane - I sure hope you get to feeling better. You don't want to be icky for the holidays.

Hope all is well with everyone else! Have a GREAT day!

Wow, no posts for a while now. I hope that means everybody is just busy and not that something is wrong. Tonight is my companies Christmas party and I was trying SOOOOOOO hard to get to work extra early so I could leave extra early and have time to drive my butt a half hour home and get my bf and get ready with a half hour drive back. Low and behold I did not set my alarm...so woke up at the time I would normally leave . Busy weekend. Party tonight, my son testing for his blue belt tomorrow and celebrating bf son's 8th birthday Sunday.

Busy time of year! I'm sure that's why the posts are sparse I am actually feeling somewhat better, but I'm trying to take it easy as much as I can.. unfortunately the next week or so is going to be brutal as far as work. Next weekend we are open until 11pm, which means I might not get out of there until 1am! Hopefully not... lately it's sometimes midnight. Of course I can't go right to sleep when I get home either.

My weight is still WAY up... like around 217 up! It's getting hard to put my shoes on again. ugh. I don't know why I am struggling so much these days, other than feeling sick a lot and being tired and not having time to plan meals, etc... Woke up with my usual Friday morning migraine. Got my cleaning job, then back to Michael's from 5-11 or later. At least I can sleep in tomorrow and get some things done since I don't work until 4. Hey, my paycheck this week was more than I thought, although it did have payment for the last painting class I taught on it, still.. it makes all the extra work WORTH IT! If I COULD drop one of my jobs, it would definitely be the cleaning job... I hate it, but it's 25 an hour and pays for my car... only 1 1/2 years left until it's paid off.. It would be nice if I could get it paid off early...

Ok, off to the shower, then I start my 12-ish hour work day.. yipee.

Nicole: Hey, have fun at the party! (well both parties!) And good luck to your son on his blue belt!

Good Morning Ladies. I think we are all getting busier and busier as the holidays approach. The days are going by in a blink and before we know it Christmas will be over and its a brand new year!

My Christmas shopping is still not complete. But this weekend will be finished up. Tonight I have my sons Christmas concert for 2nd and 5th grade together (he is in 2nd) then I have to race home and bake cookies for a cookie exchange at work tomorrow. Oh and I have to buy something for the rob your neighbor thing.. which I may not do after all actually.

Tomorrow we go to Santa's Magical Kingdom which is an overpriced light display where we get Pictures with Santa every year. My son loves it and we go every year.

Will try to post more another time. All of a sudden my eyes just want to close. So much fun! Hope all of you are enjoying the holiday season.

Bleh... weight still way up there, but I am beginning to make better choices. Biggest problem is TIME... I have been grabbing fast food too often (usually don't get the soda or fries), AND I eat really late sometimes when I get home from Michael's. I would like to lose a few before Christmas. I'm not expecting a lot until after the holidays, but I would rather not through caution to the wind in the meantime! I'll just be more miserable!

My schedule has been brutal, and this weekend will be the WORST! We will close at 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10 on Sunday Lately it has been taking about 2 hours after closing to get the store in shape even though we TRY to work on it constantly when open. Last night a young mom came in with her young boys, who she let run around the store, get in to EVERYTHING, climb on ladders, etc.. I was SO glad when they FINALLY left (they had to have been there well over an hour), but then they came BACK! The store was a wreck, but not just because of them obviously.. customers are so lazy! Rather than hang something back up right in front of them, they almost always lay it down somewhere else. Not saying I have never been guilty of this, but now that I am on the other side of things... I mean, I guess they don't feel like they have time to hang something back up for 2 seconds, but you know, we employees don't want to be there 2 hours after closing!

Once again I felt like I was getting a UTI. Went back to the specialist who still doesn't think it's UTI's. She said it sounds more like Lyme Disease than UTI's.. and yet, she didn't order a blood test? I don't get her... I need to go to a regular doc and get this figured out. So tired of feeling crappy.

Yep, we are all super busy right now! (or out of the country!)

Nicole: I have barely started my shopping, partly because I am unsure of how much I will have, but I did get a few things, and yesterday baked the first of the millions of cookies I will be making. Fortunately, I can bake some of them at my nanny job!

Hello ladies, I'm back!

I had a lovely vacation, although the weather did not cooperate and it rained or drizzled practically every day. It did lightly snow at Neuschwanstein Castle, which made for lovely photos. But we were intrepid and didn't let that stop us from doing anything! Then SO got a head cold and of course 4 days later I got it. So I've been sneezing and coughing. Our flight from DC to home last night was delayed over 2 hours, so I didn't get home until 3AM this morning, having been up over 24 hours since leaving Germany. I didn't sleep much and of course it's back to work tomorrow (but at least it's Friday!).

I did get to eat lots of good food (tried to be moderate) and drink hot spiced wine while wandering the Christmas Markets. Then at SO's aunt's house she made all his favorites. Good warm bread every morning too, lol. Lots of walking, so hopefully no major weight gain. I may weigh tomorrow. On her scale (in kg) I seemed to be about the same as before I left.

I'm not ready for the holidays. I have presents bought, but not wrapped. Tree is not decorated. House is a mess. I need to finalize the menu and shop for groceries. I'm working Monday and Tuesday too, so not much free time.

Beth: Thinking of your DH. Is he still in the hospital?

Diane: You've been not feeling well for too long. I hope you get it sorted out so you can be better.

to everyone else.

Hi Gals. Still here. Just been really busy with the holidays and all. The time is flying by. Can't believe Christmas is next week! We went to Kailee first Christmas program last night. 4 & 5 year olds are super cute and entertaining to watch. I'm off to bed. Just wanted to say hi.

Good morning!!! I am so in the Holiday Spirit! I am not ready for Christmas. I have about half my shopping done. Going through stuff did make me feel better though. I think we can pull it off and still have enough funds to get us through until we get more funds in Christmas Eve.

I have a half day today.. came in at 7:15a too so I will be leaving at 11:15am. Going to my son's Holiday party at school at 2pm. Still have goodie bags to finish but they are almost done. Should be fun! Then its finishing shopping tomorrow and Bass Pro Shop on Sunday. We have never been when its decorated out and I heard it is fabulous.

I work Mon & Tues and work from home on the 29th but other than that I am off until the 5th. Going to be a nice NEEDED break! Then ON TO THE NEW YEAR!

Excited to see what 2015 brings! I have a feeling that its going to be an excellent year!

Beth: Yes, how is your DH doing? I have been thinking about you a lot here lately. I hope no news is good news!

Jazzy: Glad you enjoyed your vacation. I bet it was just lovely with all that weather. Hope you got your snooze on before you had to work today.

Annette: I love the kiddos holiday stuff at school. So fun and cute! Gage had his Tues night. The 2nd graders sang by themselves and with the 5th graders.

Diane: Geez girl! It sucks you keep getting sick and then sick and then sick! With all that working and your body not being in the place it needs to be that's a disaster waiting to happen! I hope your taking time to rest in between the craziness! I hope you get a resolution soon so you can feel healthy again!

Charlene: I hope you enjoy your Christmas Break! My son can't wait for this day to be over so he can start his!

Rachel: How are you? Has your DH been doing ok with his eating to keep his diagnosis in control? YOu still been kicking butt exercising?

Well I gots to go. Time to bust some butt at work and get out of here! Have a great weekend ladies and I will pop in at the beginning of next week.
