HEALTHY & LEAN FOR 2015

HEALTHY & LEAN FOR 2015.... Yes, that is what I am striving to be and it will not be easy. This is where I will be hanging out By starting now I will have a good jump on for the Summer of 2015. I am older (61) and a bikini is out of the question..... but to be a healthy and leaner older lady would be great. Come on and join me. No real guidelines.... everyone will do their own thing but we can meet here for support and I will be weighing in myself on Fridays.... but as I said... everyone to their own desire. Post weight and loss (if you want) post measurements (if you want). Hope I am not alone in this endeavor.... even if I fall (and I am sure I will) I will not give up this time.

All invited.... there is strength in numbers.

Start Wt.: 225

Hi,

Don't we all want to be healthy & lean? I'll join you.

This time around LCHF (after many many times), I'm setting a goal of only 20 lbs. because 190 lbs is the lowest I've been (about 3 yrs ago) on LCHF. I bought many new clothes at that time in US sz 12 and I would like to wear those clothes. I was a sz 16 for many years, then I got sick and was THRILLED to wear sz14 but then did Atkins to get to sz12. I've been up & down about 15-20 lbs for the past 6-7 years.

But truth be told, I would love to get down to 175 lbs for my nephew's wedding 2/14/15. So I my goal for 2015 would be 175 lbs and maintain that weight.

Hi gang,

Sweetpoison, I am 65 so I have you beat in the age department, ha ha! I have lost about 20 pounds in about 4 months. I figure I'm 1/3 of the way to where I'd like to end up, which is around 150. So, carrying this idea forward, I want to be 20 pounds lighter by New Year's, which is in 4 months, and another 20 pounds by end-April 2015. Memorial Day. It seems so far away, but you know it will be here before we know it. And the time will pass whether we lose the weight or not, so let's lose it. I don't know about you, but I have a sense that I am running out of time to get this done! I want to live long and prosper!

This is not just about vanity, it's about enjoying vigorous good health and learning how to take optimum care of my body so I can have FUN. It's not the years in your life, it's the life in your years!

Best wishes, everyone.

Hey everyone!! I just restarted this past week so I'd love to join a fresh challenge. I got to 221 in 2012 and life got hard and I gained A LOT. So I'm back to it. My goal is to be close to my 2012 low before this year ends. So I'll just say 229 would be the way I'd like to start 2015. And anything in onederland territory is my goal for the end of next year. That would be absolutely fantastic.

Sign me up. I would love to lose 15-20 lbs. by the new year. Staying consistent has been tough. I will also weigh in on Fridays! I was 143.5 this morning.

I'm in, need as much support as I can get. I want to be in ONEderland by 2015 and I know I can get there if I stay on my plan. Looking forward to getting support as well as lending some. BTW I am 52 years old.

Well...,. welcome to all. Nice little group so far. My weekend was fair.... so far I have dropped the chocolate (which is a HUGH deal for me)... still had some crackers due to my stomach not being happy with me.. but when they are gone (about 8 left) then I simply do not purchase anymore. Getting started is ALWAYS hard for me. Hope all of you are off to a good start.

Good Monday morning everyone!

I am off and running and keeping it Low Carb. I would post what small goals I want to accomplish but I am learning to just work my plan and see what results I get from them on the scale and in my clothes. Ultimate goal is ONEderland where I was before(yea gainned the weight back ) but I am determined to get back there. I hope everyone stays on plan so 2015 will be a true celebration of determination and health. Have a good Monday!

This post really caught my eye because me and two of my cousins began our new woe last week. Our goal is to be fit and fabulous by next summer. Our family's taking a trip to the Bahamas so that's our motivation. I've tried LCHF before and lost pretty good but of course once the summer hit and vacations started, I fell, jumped, and stumbled off the wagon. But so far since last Monday, 8/18/2014, I've lost 26 lbs. I know it's mostly water weight but I'll take it. I'm glad to be on the journey with you.

Good afternoon everyone!! Today is the first day of week 2 for me. I feel firmly in the groove, which is absolutely wonderful. I had a moment on Saturday were I felt a little emotional and wanted comfort food and ate guac and bacon. I didn't even think about having carbs. So small victory for me!

How's everyone doing? What's everyone's menu?

Mine is:
B: coffee and cream and bacon
L: steak salad
D: chicken salad

Thanks Amber. Hopefully I will hit my 1st goal (100 lbs lost by next Summer). That way I can truly enjoy my time there. I went to Orlando this Summer with my family and though my mind wants to do everything (theme parks, sites) my body was not having all of the walking. I made it through but I felt miserable. I refuse to have the same experience in the Bahamas. No way, no how. I will have fun in the sun

How exciting the Bahamas sound wonderful. You can do it, fit and fabulous by next summer is the goal. 26 lbs. released from your body is fantastic, keep it up and you will be enjoying your trip because of all the hard work you put in. Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Jumping in here..... restarting for what seems the billionth time. I was doing carb cycling for awhile and loved it...fell off and for whatever reason I haven't been able to stick to it anymore.. So, with that, I decided that I would just go back to plain ole LC eating and I am totally in love. I have missed it, and it feels very decadent right now.

Looking to be as close to the lower end of the 220's by the end of this year...I think it's pretty realistic. It just feels really really good to be back in control!!!

Start Weight: 248.8

I'm 2 days in, I'm following South Beach, so 3 meals, 2 snacks, LC with beans and nuts.

Starting off at 233. My goal is 150, by next June.
I'm sectioning it by 1/4ths, so my first goal? 210 by Nov. 5th. I NEED A GOOD SUPPORT GROUP!!! I'm so glad to find this little group

We can rock this.

So...
My name is Amy. I'm 42, and I'm tired of being controlled by, obsessed by, and ruled by my stupid, STUPID FAT.

So glad to find y'all

Starting over here, mind if I join?

My name is Sam, I live in Titusville Florida, formerly of Knoxville Tn.
I requested to join another challenge and never received a reply and I want to be a part of an active group.
When I say I am starting over I am doing so after a planned halt in my low carbing because the weight-loss had slowed and I thought a month or two eating carbs would be a "shock" to my system. Tomorrow starts strict Induction again to see if I can get the last 70 of 280 pounds off before next Spring.

I'm here

So....what is the biggest challenge we all face with going LC? And what is our game plan to overcome it?

Mine is feeling like I'm losing out on something. Like...somehow, bread will give me something I need? Lol...not the right mindset. I'm really trying to focus on the things I *do* get to eat--and the benefits of being LC, which for me are many.
So...I guess my answer is I will keep my eye on what I do get to have, and plan accordingly.

Induction, induction I need to go back and do induction as well. Toying with Atkins 72 induction but not sure. How is it going on induction?

Amy, I hear ya on being ruled by the Fat, we can do this with the support we can get through it. I like your plan to do this in sections. 210 by Nov. here you come!

Amy the only thing bread gives me is the "toots!" It is true I know it's bad for me so why do I go back to it when I am stressed? I guess I'm to be sure. You are right on track to focus on the things you can eat on this woe and there are so many things. I need to eat LC because I have Diabetes(I refuse to label myself a Diabetic, I have Diabetes!) There are so many benefits to me as well to following this woe as a lifestyle.

How is everyone doing on your woe? I do hope things are going well, come back and report we need the support. Well got my booty to the gym today with my hubby and did 1 1/2 hours of cardio and then just sat in the dry heat room. Both the hubster and I decided to commit to 2 days a week at the moment toward gym workouts so it was nice working out with him. I use a pedometer at home to record how many steps I take a day to encourage me to keep moving. I am recording my daily steps from Sunday to Sunday to see what I average in miles in a week. Anyone else doing any kind of exercise, any? Well I hope all is well with everyone, have a nice Thursday.

Amy, I can sure relate to feeling like I'm missing out on something.... and the sad part is, is when I opt to cheat and go and have what ever it is that I just have to have...it's never half as good as I'd imagined it to be. Never. I need to keep this in mind whenever I feel challenged or tempted..

My biggest challenge is having a husband who does not follow LC in the slightest. Luckily my DD18 will eat how I eat since she has a gluten intolerance, so hopefully this time around since it's gonna be "2 against 1" he'll relent and enjoy the lifestyle with us.

Same here. I live with my husband & 2 sons who eat anything & everything. Yet, I'm the fattest one in the house!

I buy them the ice cream, chips, chocolate & etc. but I don't eat it! My problem in the past was eating my own good home cooking (home made bread, mash potatoes, zucchini cake, etc) with them. I've never been a junk eater. Oh, and I love fruit - esp. apples.

My DH has done LC with me before and lost beautifully with it... he could stand to lose a few pounds as I know he'd probably feel better physically... He works super long hours and I know the extra weight and the carbage can drag a person down.. but, he's a big boy and will have to decide on his own terms like I did the first time he tried.. I get so jealous when he does it, he loses like crazy while I'm over in my corner counting, measuring, and obsessing over everything Men!

Mmmmm I love apples too

Berries....I love. Fruit? Not so much. But I'm a baker...I love to make the cookies and the breads and and and...and I miss them.
The day after I eat carbs though? I am sore, swollen and icky feeling. Once I'm used to them again I'm not...but if I slip, then BAM, I feel like poo.

DH doesn't care as long as he gets meat. He's happy to do the low carb thing, and loses really well, not that he's got much more to lose. He's 5'11 and 190. He loves getting pork rinds as a snack, so low carb isn't a challenge for him.

I'm doing induction because I need a reset. I find the first couple weeks I need to be strict to get me going. Although today....I'm not craving...but I WANT sweet stuff. And it's only because today has been a rather craptastic day. I'm ready for Friday, and a 3 day vacation.

Hi Guys, wow, you've been busy! I only weigh once a month, on the first of the month, so I'll check in and own up then. Scale-peeking shows a slow but steady loss in August, despite several family parties, neighborhood bbq's, and wine-drinking events. DH and I have committed to have a "Totally Clean September" oops, there's one caveat...we are going to the horse races and dinner with friends on the 2nd and 3rd, with golf on the 4th. It's not like we eat wrong, we just drink wrong. So we'll put on our "Serious Hats" on the 5th.

Happy Labor Day, everyone!!

Hey! A pound is a pound. It counts!

Much to my absolute joy this morning, I got on the scale and it showed me down another 3....so 4 total in 4 days. I know this will slow down....but it's sure nice to see a good start. I really need that to stay motivated.
We're camping this weekend. I've got alllllll my food lined up. There will be booze in my weekend, but I stick to dark rum and diet whatever, or plain vodka and diet whatever. No fancy in my drinks I wonder what Monday will show? Tuesday is my "official" weigh in day.

What all does everyone have planned this weekend?

Amy
