Morning. I want to say good but Beth your post from last night broke my heart. Sorry you have to go through all this sweetie. I am glad the surgery went well but I am confused? I thought that there was good news from the last consult? I am praying for you guys. I wish there was more I could do.

Scale at 223.6 which is TONS better than what I thought it would be with 4 days carbing in a row but did make it through yesterday with NO CHEAT. So day 1 again under my belt. WHEW

I have to get to work. This is a short week and need to bust some butt on the phones. You guys have a great day!

Morning all,

The scale was down another pound today. I barely ate yesterday. Although I did go to the gym in the morning. Feeling very wrung out today, working from home. I just didn't have it in me to go to the office and deal with people. I want to keep an eye on dh although he seems to be doing fine physically, some discomfort and in shock but otherwise recovering. I heard from my sil that my db has been sick with the horrible norovirus. He was in the ER on sunday. He also has a bladder infection. But she said he seems to be on the mend now. I must have looked horrible when I walked into the recovery room yesterday to see dh. The nurse immediately asked me if I had eaten or drank anything and promptly went to get me juice. Standing in line at the pharmacy, I was shaking and in shock. Nicole--dh's surgeon had always thought that dh had this very rare condition, but the specialist wasn't that impressed with the CT scan so didn't think it was so. However, it appears to be the case. We are waiting on the pathology report and then a consult with the specialist. There are only about 5-10 specialists in the country that treat this condition and one of them happens to be in our health plan here in the Bay area (80 miles away, but at least its not in another state). Waiting is the worst, not knowing is the worst. I wasn't expecting this. It was really difficult sitting in the waiting room one floor below where my mom died. The only other time I had been in the surgical area was with my mom a few days before she died. Then last night we had a spectacular sunset. The sky and the light was the same as the night that my mom died. No doubt she was lighting up the sky to let me know she was watching over us.

I will try to do the best I can with eating on plan. Its the right thing to do for dh so he can be as well prepared for surgery and treatment as possible.

Have a great day all.

Beth: I am so sorry to hear that but great news about one being in your network and near you. Thank goodness!! I will keep my prayers up for you both for strength, understanding and recovery. I am so sorry to hear that. Sounds like your mom is definitely watching over you both. Hugs.

Morning all, its my last full day of the week. Seriously my job is so generous around holidays! Not only are we paid Friday off but the office is closing at noon tomorrow as well. Work hard, play hard! YAY! Well I made it through ALMOST 2 days clean eating. I think I have been emotionally eating in the evening. Me and BF have had a little bickering (honestly not too bad and has been light hearted) but I don't get to see him much during the week because he has been sleeping so late after I get home and I think its sending me on a bender. Ok and I hope not TMI but I haven't been getting "it" enough for how new our relationship is since he started working because he is so tired and its effecting my mood. I know that shouldn't matter BUT it does. Well he is off Th, Fr, Sat & Sun night so we will FINALLY get some real time together so YAY!

ANYWAYS! My cheat was at least just popcorn so it could of been way worse. Luckily there isn't any food in my house that is that easy to eat so that helps. Shopping tonight though. I need more choices in the house!

Well not many people have checked in. I hope all you ladies are doing well. Have a wonderful day

Good morning.

Beth - I am so distraught over your news. I am so very sorry it was the thing you were hoping it wouldn't be. Will the next surgery be removing something else or repairing something? Take care of yourself too in this time and don't let yourself get weak. Keeping eating well to keep your strength up. {{{HUGS}}} But I am so PROUD of your 23.5 pounds!!!!

Diane - Hopefully the kids will get their finances in order and be better able to provide their share of the expenses. I'll never forget the day my DS called and said, "OK, I"m ready to take over my own car insurance".....woohoo!!!!

Nicole - hopefully you can kick it in gear here these last couple weeks and stick to plan. Have fun on your days off.

Off to the consult for my colonoscopy - I'm so excited. Have a great day everyone!

I am actually craving healthy foods, so maybe coupled with how broke I am, I can get the scale back down. Scary how lightning fast it can jump up! I've been extra tired this week for some reason and for a split second ALMOST grabbed my purse to go to work... in my nightgown!

I don't have official word about the manager job yet, but I have not been scheduled for my truck shift for Monday, so I think they are waiting to get the background check, and then probably schedule me for the new job.

I checked the Michael's website and I have a student for my first adult class already! It's 3 weeks away, so I may get more. yay!

Well I had a good laugh yesterday. My good friend text me and said her cousin thinks I'm hot and wants to know if I want casual... nookie. Say WHAT?! ............. She had shown him a few pics of me, but wouldn't even tell me his name. She said she couldn't because he wanted to know what I said first. SERIOUSLY??? For one thing, if she really knows me she should have known the answer already! And for another, he wanted an answer before I even knew his name or what he looked like.. again.. Not that it would matter because homie don't pay dat! I was just curious what he looks like (someone thinks I'm hot, I want to know who) lol.. Anyway, I told her I have to be in a relationship. I don't do the casual thing. And she said, well wait until his divorce! OMG.. seriously.. OMG! BTW, I don't judge others who do the casual thing, but it's just not for me.. I don't know that I would want to date someone else who did either (that's not judgey of me is it?)

Beth: I am soooo soooo very sorry to hear that news. Big tight hugs from me.. I wish I could hug you in person! You know we are all here for you girl! Like Charlene said, stay strong and keep taking care of yourself!

Nicole: Your schedules have got to be tough to work with and spend some quality time together, but have fun this week! Yeah, popcorn is not the worst thing for a cheat.. well maybe if it was drenched with butter!

Charlene: You will have to let me know how the colonoscopy goes.. it was mentioned when I went to the student clinic last time that I would need to be getting my first one soon. Ugh. Well, hey, if my daughter can get one at age 17, I guess we can do it, right?

Hello all. 4th of July tomorrow! WHOOT! I love this holiday, good friends, good food, good entertainment! Well after all my disasters of eating off and on the last week. Buckling down has paid off! Not only did I lose the 4 lbs I was up of pure BLOAT but I lost another 2 so I am at 220.8.. OMG! 1 lb from another digit! 17.8 to hit my lowest when I low carbed last time! YAY!!

I will not be getting on the rest of the weekend.. BUSY BUSY but I will on Monday! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. God Bless America!!!

Good morning,

The scale was back up a pound today to my Monday weight. No worries. I've not been drinking enough water. Just made radish hash browns and they are cooking in the oven. Must get to the gym today. Am working from home and we are getting new internet service which will be 6x as fast. I need it for when I am working remotely with Revit. DH seems to be recovering. Yesterday was a rough day for him, all the anesthesia was out of his system and he was crabby and sore and scared. Hopefully we will hear from the surgeon today. I have moments when I am just fine and then there are the rest of the moments. Tuesday dh and I went out to coffee. We were going to split a bagel but they were out so we settled for fruit instead. And I had a decaf mocha with almond milk. It wasn't the same but I felt the need for a treat. I went to the office for half the day yesterday, it was about all I could take for today. I came home and took a nap! dh isn't feeling so great yesterday, which isn't surprising.

Charlene--dh had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago, they say that the prep is the worst. I've managed to skip that so far with other screening tests. So when is your scheduled. The disease that dh has is called pseudomyxoma peritonei. They will remove his appendix, the mass that is encapsulating it and strip all of the ascites from the membranes of abdominal cavity. They may need to resection the bowel. It is a fatal disease if left untreated. It is sometimes called jelly belly (which puts a whole new spin on the jelly bean for me). Its a big surgery with lots of potential complications. Then they may do a chemotherapy wash of the abdomen. If he has the slow growing type that may be all that has to be done. We won't know more until after the pathology report comes back.

Nicole--enjoy your long weekend. Have a great time. I think we will just be hanging out, not doing too much. dh needs his rest.

Diane--hopefully you will know more soon and get to start the management gig. And no doubt your kids class will fill up.

Rachel--what's up with you. How is Cooper?

Time to start the day.

Have a good one all.

Good morning all and Happy 4th!

Today is Zora's birthday and she is 4 years old. My baby puppy is growing up. DH is taking her for a walk right now. He is feeling better, a little sore, but definitely on the mend. I did go to the gym yesterday and did my weight workout. And the scale this morning was down 3 pounds from yesterday, 2 pounds from my Monday weight. And I've broken through to the next digit. This is where I wanted to be on Monday (at the end of our SBS challenge) so I will officially claim it if I show that weight on my official Monday weigh-in. I usually don't lose on P3, so I will be very happy to remain the same. It is also possible that I will go up a little, but I'll work at staying steady. Not much going on today. Hanging out. I have a bit of a sinus headache.

Rachel--thanks for the support. We'd definitely be out for coffee if I were closer. How is Cooper? Congrats on getting that scale to move and staying on the exercise.

Charlene--what do you have planned for the holiday? Did you do your drill sergeant routine this morning?

Diane--how are things going with you? Hear anything about the management job?

Nicole--hope you are having a fun weekend. Well, of course you are.

Squash--how are you doing?

Have a great day all. Must get rid of this headache and clean up the kitchen after my favorite P3 breakfast--Nutty Berry Oatmeal!

Good morning all!

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday. The scale was the same this morning so I was happy with that. Didn't do a lot yesterday, went out for coffee. Must head to the grocery store and maybe hit the gym for a little cardio and stretching.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Slimmers!

Scale is still at 137.2 but thats ok. After a 5.6 lb loss in 2 days I didnt expect a loss this morning.

I stayed on plan yesterday but didnt get a walk in. Today I will get atleast 3 miles in but Id like to push for 4 miles. I will also do some strength training before bed.

Beth: happy birthday to Zora yesterday!

Happy Sunday Morning Slimmers!

Scale has bounced up .8 this morning. I got 4.25 miles in last night. Boy did it feel good. I am hoping to do some pool walking after church then this evening another 3-4 mile walk.

Update on Cooper: He actually seems to be doing better now. June was such a horrible month for him.

20 days until I leave for North Carolina! Can not wait to see DD20!!!! She is loving it but is ready to come home.

I am falling apart today! Just not feeling it today! My eating has been not horrible but not 100% either. My emotions just get the best of me. Sundays are the worst!!

Today is going to be a loooooong day! They haven't gotten the background check back for me yet, so they can't give me my own keys until then, but I did my first manager shift last night. Hmmm. Whole lot of information in a short time and they want me to be on my own after 4 days of "training"... I don't know.. I guess I'll get used to it and it won't feel so overwhelming, but it's scary. The scariest part is the register! It's pretty simple I guess, but it's been decades since I've done that kind of work.. thankfully I won't have to do it that much.. just when registers are backing up. So many keys.. different keys for different registers... First I was with the assistant manager who was great, then I was with a younger manager who went pretty fast with everything.. that's when I started to really feel overwhelmed. I'm not sure if I can do this, but I will give it my best shot, even though I'm kind of sick to my stomach. Anyway, since Friday was a holiday, I have to do my cleaning job today, then work at Michael's. Friday will be the same as today.. both jobs. Yikes. What makes this especially scary for me is that I have only been working there for 2 months! I don't know the store well enough to answer questions (except the art dept).. and I have never been a manager anywhere before.. it's just so weird!

Really trying to do better with my eating, but for the next week or so it's going to be difficult.. not because of temptations, but because I have to make do with what I have, which isn't much right now!

Well, time to start my long sucky day!

Rachel: So glad Cooper is feeling better!

Beth: You are doing so awesome on FMD!!!

Charlene and Nicole: How was your weekend?

Squash: Welcome to the group!

Hey everybody! Did an impromptu trip to the lake with friends this weekend and had a blast! Stayed in the boat for 2 days, and I am fried. My sister is here and we are really enjoying our time together. My colonoscopy is scheduled for tomorrow. I am on clear liquids only today. I miss food. LOL And this evening I have to do a regimen of horse pills for the laxative. NOT looking forward to that. So I am sipping on peach water and broth and have green SF jello in the fridge. Can have no red, blue, orange, or purple drinks/jello. I'm gonna be famished tomorrow.

Beth - I have been thinking about you since your post on FB and I am hoping for the best for this next surgery. Have they given you a time frame on that next one? I think your coffee date sounds perfect. So happy you guys are being healthy together - it's so much easier!

Rachel - hang in there girlie. Those 20 days will fly by and you will be reunited. My dd14 is on a mission trip and won't be home until Saturday. I miss her so much.

Diane - that background check is taking a long time - that happened to my sis in her new job too and they didn't think it would take that long. Before you know it, you'll have the system down and be able to spit out facts and be very comfortable. Just give it a little time.

Nicole - glad you love the 4th. I hope it was good for you!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi everyone!

The scale was nasty! It was up 3 pounds! But I did eat pizza yesterday and didn't drink enough water. So no doubt that will be gone soon. I did go to the office today and I came home and went to the gym. Will work a little tonight. Have not heard anything from the doctor. DH thinks he will not know anything until his follow-up on Thursday. Not much to do but keep on doing the next thing. Definitely going to the gym to help manage the anxiety.

Charlene--I hope all goes well for you tomorrow. Well, I know it will. But it isn't a fun procedure. Just get the good drugs. Within 24 hours you can eat again.

Diane--did you work stocking or as a manager today. You'll have a busy week this week. You'll do just fine. You have everything it takes to be successful. Those youngster managers are generally horrible at training anyone. It is a lot of information to take in at once. I have every confidence in you and you'll learn as you go along.

Rachel--hang in there. Only 3 weeks before you retrieve your youngest. Zora is happy to hear that Cooper is doing better.

Nicole--how ya doin?

Hi Squash.

Dinner tonight, brown rice and quinoa pasta with my homemade spaghetti sauce.

Have a great evening.

I am in shock. And heartbroken. DH heard from the surgeon this evening (of course I was out). It isn't good news. I just don't know how bad it is yet. Will learn more on Thursday.

Morning. Sorry I couldn't check in until now. News news and more news.

I got a promotion at work yesterday! YAY!!! I am now a full physician recruiter. Lots to learn so my time will be limited on here for a while. I am so excited. It is a great opportunity and more funds for me and my family. My company is thrilled at my progress and had lots to say.

The cheats continued through the weekend. It could of been better cause BF was sick off and on ALL weekend long! I had to take off and work from home on Monday because he wanted to go to the hospital it was so bad.. got him to take some meds and then under control. Men are babies when they are sick.

Even with all the cheats the scale was down to 219.8.. huh?? Down a pound. I don't get it but I will take it!

Beth...praying for you guys still! Hugs to you all.

I don't have time for more personals I am sorry!! Will catch up asap!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all,

I am so darn tired today I can barely function. I slept OK last night but it has been really emotional. The preliminary pathology report indicates that dh has cancer. Exactly what kind he has, and what they will do next is unknown. I was gone when the surgeon called and dh had to hear all that news all alone. He is scared, as would anyone be. I am trying to work today but my attention span is less than stupendous. This all feels so surreal, like it is happening to someone else. We go on trying to be normal, but then the fear and reality hits and I just want a way out. but there isn't one. Waiting for dh to leave for work so I can have a good cry. Its one thing to know that a cancer dx is a possibility, quite another to have it be real. And everything seems to be moving at a glacial pace. I was going to go to the gym but my abs and arms are sore from my Monday workout, so I'll go tomorrow morning, before we go see the surgeon. The scale has stayed the same. Doesn't want to move. I'm stuck at the same weight as last week.

Nicole--Congrats on your promotion! That is absolutely awesome for you I am very impressed. And the scale seems to be obeying very nicely too. Men are such babies when they are sick, aren't they?

Charlene--how was your colonoscopy yesterday? Bet you're glad that its over. Now to enjoy the rest of the summer.

Diane--I see that you are getting geared up for teaching painting classes. That is so cool. How are you feeling, having such a busy week.

Rachel--and what's up with you? How many more days until DD comes home.

Have a great day.

Yes this IS a busy week! Monday about killed me doing both jobs! And Friday will be just as bad since it's my normal cleaning day. I am also busy trying to get good enough pictures of my paintings for my Zazzle store.. I'm going to have two separate stores.. one for my "regular" artwork, and another called "Skelebrities and Skullies" (or is Skullz better? This is for the smaller mixed media skull paintings).. or something that one obviously for my funky kind of art. It's time consuming, but I'm excited! I have already had someone I don't know ask if my art is available on t-shirts (I don't know if she saw the post about starting a store or not).. but cool! I haven't done any actual painting for MY stuff for a while, but I am getting back in the groove big time. Hope to have something new very soon. It's nice to have this side series of the small skull paintings when I need a break from the Skelebrities.

I'm actually doing really well food-wise today, however, the scale has been SO freaking mean to me. I have just over two weeks until my little weekend getaway, and I at least want to feel somewhat comfortable.

Dang! I have to take care of the baby, so I will have to come back hopefully tonight for personals!

Hello everyone. My procedure went fine - was out like a light and knew nothing went on. Today feels like nothing ever happened. They removed one polyp but think it's nothing - just cautious but are sending it off to be certain. I have diverticulosis - but no symptoms - and was ordered to make sure to include fiber in my diet. I felt sure with all the healthy eating I was doing - I was getting enough fiber. Got up at 2:30 a.m. to bake for our football boys who are going to state in summer football. Then I worked the bake sale and we made over $1350! We leave tomorrow for College Station to watch them play. DH has taken a new job. He is back in the coaching world! The head coach here told him he had no good interviewees and would he consider coming back into it. So he is no longer an assistant principal and will teach and coach - which is his love. The girls are happy - their dad will be teaching at their high school. So I'm a coaching wife again. LOL

Beth - I am so sorry to hear this news. Hopefully they have caught it early and they can take care of it. I'm sorry you weren't there to talk to the doctor too. I'm sure it is hard on you both. I will be thinking of and praying for strength, healing and a complete recovery. {{{HUGS}}}

Diane - sounds like you are staying busy busy!

Nicole - congrats on the new promotion! Don't be a stranger now!!!

Hi Rachel!!!

Have a great evening!!

Good evening--

Charlene--glad your procedure went well. DH had one polyp removed too, and it was benign. He also has diverticulosis, as does my bff. Gosh, I probably have it too but am in no hurry to find out. Congrats to your dh on the new coaching job. Your life will get busy again! I've not been very active today, worked for a while, laid down for a while, tried not to think all day. Called my bff, who is going to the Paul McCartney concert tonight in Chicago. DH received a call from the specialist and we have an appointment on Friday. Tomorrow we see the first surgeon and hopefully will get a copy of the pathology report. I'm almost afraid to get any more news, because we keep getting bad news, and I want good news. I think this woe is going to be our new lifestyle. I'm now thinking about food and nutrition totally differently because it will play such a big part in dh's health and recovery. The surgeon told him not to lose anymore weight. He is going to need the fat stores as he goes through surgery and recovers. It can be very difficult to get adequate nutrition. Hella way to lose weight, isn't it?

Have a good evening all!

Beth, Was just checking in. I want to say how sorry I am to hear this news. I didn't want to say anything on the other board and it's been long enough since I've been on here, it took me awhile to figure out my password. LOL. It's pretty late and I need to get to bed, but I hope to start checking in more. Hugs to you.

Morning all!

The scale was back down to last weeks lowest weight, still didn't drink enough water yesterday. Must get to the gym later this morning and do some work. We meet with the surgeon this afternoon, and I must say that I am dreading it. The last shred of hope of how bad (or not) this is will be stripped away. Not much to do but get through it.

Thanks ahaire for the support. It has been an emotional journey to say the least. I've been thinking about Sue this week, particularly when the dr. told dh not to lose any more weight. I remember that she had a feeding tube put in because of the difficulty of getting adequate nutrition.

Sorry to be such a downer lately all. I'm trying to keep it light and keep it real.

Hope you are all having a good day!
