Morning!

I guess I will just "chat" here......I can't keep up during the day with being at work!

I leave Thursday - won't have to worry about eating - DD eats/cooks well, and since she's vegan and doesn't eat a lot of junk, we won't be doing any of that. She has a couple restaurants she wants to take me to.....one that is ALL vegan, and then there are a Thai and Vietnamese restaurant that she can't decide on. Also an outdoor cafe she wants to take me to on Saturday that has specialty brewed coffees!! We also are going to the outlet mall, another really nice one, probably ikea...then I want to take her car for an oil change and car wash....probably will do that while she is at work on Friday and surprise her. I told DH I am going to be pooped when I get home! She has a whole itinerary planned!

DH is going to Montreal early May and I am going along! It's Mother's Day weekend, which I wasn't happy about, but his broker meeting in Monday after and he didn't have a choice. We will make a mini vaca out of it! I told DD26 we will celebrate the weekend before - I want to make her first official Mother's Day a special one! We are also going to Minneapolis Memorial Day weekend.....all of us - DH's parents (long story) are moving there at the end of the month from their winter spot in AZ, so we will go to visit them, DH's brother and his whole family. Our niece is expecting this month so this will enable us to see the baby and them to see DGS too......May is going to be busy!

Weather has been beautiful. It makes me so happy!!!!!

Montreal is wonderful. My husband loves it there and wants us to go.
Do you have a passport??

Have fun at your daughters.

Our next trip is Lake Placid in July. This might change because cousin's son got engaged and is getting married day before Labor Day in Lake Placid. Fiance's mom has a summer house there. Not sure I can get vacation around a holiday.

Cindy, your Florida trip sounds fun.

Yep - have a passport - we went to Montreal last summer.
DH wants to drive up to Quebec City. We would have F, Sat, Sun and his meeting is Monday.

Lake Placid sounds fun, Debbie!

Sounds like a very long ride. We will fly to Albany then drive to Lake Placid. The Labor Day weekend wedding may cancel out our July vacation. Guess we'll see.

Had a nice run tonight. Working tomorrow. Watching Chicago Fire.

Cindy - great idea to celebrate the weekend before with DD!
That way she can have her own Mother's Day!
Not that I resented sharing Mother's Day with my mom all those years, but it was hard to have my own celebration when we had to do stuff with/for her.

Debbie - sounds like fun!

Can i go on both of your vacations?
It's been too long!

MK - I agree with you, and that is why I set boundaries and will not let my parents visit for that weekend - it would not be fun! I have so many issues with them right now, it's not funny. The counseling is helping, but I still have a lot of guilt.

I still will be stopping by here as well - too hard to keep up on FB when I'm not around all day.

Back to routine for me - heading back home today. Sad to leave, but so proud of my little girl. Should be home around 5-530 tonight.

Love your avatar, Cindy!

Ate too much breakfast, but it was good!

Getting ready to clean up the living room, then heading over to the house to plant some stuff before it gets too hot out (not really hot...70's, but after the cold we've had, it's hot!)

Safe travels to you, Cindy!

Great trip. Did lots, saw lots. What a great area she is in, AND she can get anywhere she needs to go right now, without going on the highway! I found a great app for her and it was amazing! Sad to go, but am hoping to go again in about 6-8 weeks provided DH has some more frequent flyer miles!

I had some amazing vegan good there as well!

Back to work today and the weather here is horrible!

With the way you guys chat daily, I am missing us coming here. There is no way I can keep up with the conversations daily with being at work.

Work is crazy with one of my coworkers gone for two weeks - her daughter is working in Europe and she and her husband did a trip of a lifetime and went over there for two weeks. She won't be back till May 5. With only 4 of us - it takes it's toll this time of year. One good thing is I have gotten alot more responsibility and almost have taken on the role of lead specialist - without officially being given the title - I am ok with that, lol.
This pace will keep up for quite a while.

My parents are playing games again, and I am having issues - I just don't know what to do anymore. My counselor says I have done what I can do and that's all that matters - the issues are with them. My brother says let it go......I just feel so guilty. I had a nice conversation with them Sunday - although my Dad didn't say two words......he's annoyed because we didn't baptise Fletcher......but then at the end of the convo my mom started in on me. ugh.

Hope all is well with everyone. MK, how is Phil doing? Any bites on jobs in NOLA for DS? How is DD faring in Chicago? How are you doing?

Jenn - I bet you are counting the days till the move. I certainly would be. Sounds like you are getting a lot done there.

Debbie - anything new on the wedding front?

Kelly - when does DS come home for summer?

I figure if anything important happens, you all could email or text me!

Off and running - just realized today is Administrative Professionals Day and I always get our admin something - she does so much for us and I used to be in her role years ago and remember when people didn't remember.......you do feel a little hurt!

Cindy - you're too cute! It would probably take less time to just read the FB messages!

So sorry about you and your parents! Maybe you'll have to share less with them. Kind of a need to know basis!!

Phil has gone from 170 to 157 lbs and isn't eating because nothing tastes good.
DS24 doesn't have a job but will be 25 on Saturday, be here on Sunday and Monday and leave early Tuesday morning.
DD27 is doing well in Chicago and finally dating!
I'm slowly losing my mind. Between my mom going downhill rapidly and all of Phil's stuff .....

I wish I could come and take you away for a day....we'd do coffee, pedi's, lunch, some shopping......maybe end the day with a glass of wine!

I have a counseling appt today....should be interesting.

MK, you have had a bad year. Hopefully Phil gets stronger and eats again. There is medicine that will help his appetite. It is basically Marijuana in a pill.

Cindy, hope counseling helps. I hear you about work being crazy. It has really been bad at my job. It is just too hard finding something less stressful that pays what mine does and has flexible hours.

Need to go to Buy Buy Baby today for a baby shower Tuesday.
Any ideas of a dish to bring for brunch?

The next week is going to be busy here. I have a race Sunday. Tuesday shower plus I am helping new race directors with a 5K we directed and it is May 3. They still need volunteers. She doesn't have a Costco membership so I have to take her for food Thursday. There are a group of girls racing from a school and I told them I would pick up their race firms and bring to clubhouse for data entry and bib prep but I am not part of the email loop with the school.besides this I work Monday, Wednesday,Friday and have hair and brows Thursday. Oh and my husband is away Sunday-Tuesday.

Happy Birthday to Jenn!!

Cindy - that would be fabulous!!
What did the counselor say?

Debbie - he has an appetite, but food doesn't taste good. The nurses say it's because of Chemo, then anesthesia, then the pain meds. In about a month it should be better.

Fresh fruit is always good for brunch - or Panera bagels.

You ARE busy this week!

I had a great appt with counselor.
Yes, I am a good daughter. No, I am not selfish. I have tried everything I can, and it's time to move on. I could go on and on......I really need to do a lot of self talk. I just get tired of it and it really exhausts me.

I agree with MK, Debbie - Fruit, or a fruit salad, or even a regular salad - I have a couple that I bring that have fruit in them - one with mandarin oranges and one with strawberries - let me know and I can give you the recipes.

Hopefully, Phil's appetite will return sooner rather than later! What about those shakes like Ensure?

Debbie - your DH is traveling like mine......he has yet to go to Nashville and Ohio yet in the next few weeks.

Work is nuts with us being short handed. I have a lot of stuff to get done, and out newbie is just not getting some of the urgency of our job duties - I had a conversation with him last week. He is young, yes, but come on.....things like coming in to work on time.....knowing where you are in the hierarchy......realizing that there is a process for doing things.......I am struggling with him a bit......the other two specialists come to me with their frustrations......he looks to me as his work mom....and he is a friend of son in law #2.......I don't know what more I can do. [sigh]

Well, no real plans for the weekend - we may take out about 10 bushes if the weather is good - son in law #1 will be rallied to help. I probably will invite them over for dinner - I need to see DGS! We celebrate Mother's Day next weekend......I want to do something special for DD for her first official Mother's Day, and we are gone to Montreal/Quebec City for Mother's Day weekend. I am in the process of planning that too......

Off and running......love and hugs.
