Hi Blue Fish!

I know everyone here will be very excited to have you join!

The new challenge is coming out soon. Watch for it. It is a tad bit different, but having read up on this one, you will already know a lot about it. I try to make the challenges fun. You will need to register under that thread.

We are finishing up this April challenge soon. It has been a blast. PLUS the reason we are doing this has worked! We have lost weight!

Well I have been sitting here working on my 2 set goals I set for myself when I started this journey for my birthday in Dec...I have 2 main goals for myself...July4th and Dec 19 for my birthday...So I wrote it down...

Start was 244...now 215
10 weeks at 2 lb avg...until my goal on July 4th...It might jump up and down but hopefully will avg..out.. If I stall will just work on it....
Then 23 weeks until my birthday in Dec 19...at 1 lb avg..per week...
This will make me at 159...
So if I have averaged alittle too much loss I will still hope for 165...and that would make a 79 lb loss for me from my start date of Feb 17th....and then on from there.....slowly...

I like that we can weigh in and then just post of our set dates...I don't let the scales own me...but I do like to have a check on it...It is funny to see how you lose so good and in one day you have gained 3.2 lbs...sure...I just look down at the scales and stick my tongue out..haha....then the next morning I have lost 5...yeppy...

WELCOME Blue Fish....I like it here for we can just be ourselves....We will lose these lbs and never return them....

This makes me think of a bank transaction....You deposit your knowledge skills about losing your weight...then you keep your acct. balance by eating on your WOE plan and exercises your choice...then your body starts to make a withdrawal of lbs .....then you smile...So your deposits never stop for you keep adding more knowledge as you work hard...then keep that balance going and making those new withdrawals...

See what we think of here Blue Fish LOL Never know what we will think of....lol

Kmom - I am not sure if you were asking me what I was doing, or if that was part of the post you found! LOL

I started a different regimen on Friday. I'll admit, this weekend I am not eating the healthiest, but am staying under my carb and calorie limit. Tomorrow I will really jump in...

I am trying to stay around 1750 calories, and no more than 130 total carbs (not net). So far, I'm enjoying it as I've been able to add back some of the foods I've been missing, like some whole grain and legumes. I'm still avoiding bread and pastas, and after this weekend will be on limited sugar. So far I don't notice any more bloating, so I think I was already retaining water anyway. I will try for two weeks - as long as I am not gaining, I've got nothing to lose but some weight. I feel better on this though, I've cut out a fair bit of fat - it was just too much for me before and it felt too heavy. I feel more balanced for these last few days.

HELLO ALL!!!! So sorry for making everyone wait!!! I am back. Had a great time. Only cheated once....I had to have thrashers fries and we went to a japanese steak house and I had some white rice. HOWEVER, I actually made it to the gym twice and did 30 minutes on level 7 of the crosstrainer and I bike rode one day on the board walk for a few hours. :-) I did start my TOM so hopefully my final weight will be less than my loss of 1 pound last weigh- in. I LOVE the extra "gift" we got. That is great and so cool. Thanks Kmom!

KMOM - Our total loss so far is 43.6. :-) and I am definitely in for May. Has the thread been posted yet????

Welcome Blue Fish! This is a great group! You will really like it. Make sure you join the new thread. :-)

:-( I got bad news from my doctor today. I was told that my labs were really bad. My triglycerides were over 350 and my A1C was 8 and my fasting blood sugar was 180. She told me to cut back on all fats and follow a traditional diet. :-( :-( :-( I don't know what to do. I really enjoyed our challenge and would like to stick with it for May but I don't think the LC WOE is a go for me. :-( :-(

CBoz, stick with it, with me!! I am trying out "lower" carb. I am watching calories more than I was, but also trying to keep under a set about of carbs each day. I didn't feel well with all that fat in my system, this seems to work better for me. I still eat the fat, I mean I love me some butter, LOL, but it is naturally lower when I am eating a few more carbs. The fat I am eating is along the lines of avocados, nuts, etc. I'll see in a few weeks how it affects the weight loss, but as long as I am not gaining, I'm happier with the healthy and balanced (for me) eating.
