Good morning, gals!

I had a nice weekend - took my Mom to see Jersey Boys movie and it was good. My Mom enjoyed it!

Sunday, I ended up at a new Japanese Buffet that everyone has been raving about. I took my dd and her friend. I really tried to be good but then gave up. Way too much good food............

Today is a brand new day and I am on it!!!

Abigale - enjoy your family! So glad they are there - what fun!

Julie - great menu! I was reading an article about jogging and one woman says it was the only way she lost a ton of weight? First she went on a treadmill then went outside and of course followed a diet but it made me think about it - right now it would have to be inside or I would have a heat stroke

Cheryl, yes I agree with the heat stroke, first thing I get is nausea if I am getting dehydrated. This happened yesterday when we drove up to Marlton. I usually take some salt, then drink water or zero cal/carb gatorade.
When I jog indoors, I have a fan and I need some upbeat music to keep going otherwise I get bored. I used to make playlists on youtube, then found a way to make music videos...

I thought this was interesting from Dr Mercola, (sorry if I've already posted)
I am trying to follow his get healthy diet, which incorporates low carb...
He is talking about removing gluten from the diet. It explains why I have such a time going off Dr Atkins diet and that I crave carbs...

Unfortunately, most people don't feel better immediately after eliminating gluten from their diets as it may take 30 to 60 days for the inflammation to subside, and up to 9 to 12 months for the lining of your small intestine to heal.

On rare occasions an individual may experience significant improvement within weeks of eliminating gluten from their diet. But in other cases people may feel considerably worse upon initially starting a gluten free diet. This is usually due to other unidentified food allergies and food sensitivities – a problem that plagues about 75 percent of the population. In fact, food cravings can often serve as a gauge of food sensitivity. Craving dairy products or breads, for example, can be an indication that you are sensitive to that food, especially if you crave it but then feel worse after eating it.

Have a good one...

Abigale, you might like this. I just found a thread devoted to BP, triglycerides, cholesterol and low carb, they mentioned this ==>Check out SpaceDoc (Dr. Duane Graveline, former astronaut and doctor).

I want to read this soon!!

Cheryl, i never go to the movies but I would to see Jersey Boys. Always loved Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons!

Julie, I feel like I have read some articles about Dr. Gravely. Wasn't he the astronaut/Dr. that was given statin drugs and had bad side effects? Will have to check out the site.

Hi Junebug! Best wishes to you!

Boy, it has been a crazy week so far. Trying to fit in everything everyone wants to do. We went up to Walpole, NH today to have lunch with my younger sister and see her lovely flower and vegetable gardens. Tomorrow my older sister and brother in law will come for lunch. We are cooking pulled pork in the crock pot. Should be good!

Have great evening gang!

Put the pork butt in the crockpot at 3:30am so should shred real well by lunch time. I have to admit I am totally off my woe this week while the kids are here and I am cooking for 8. I hope I can get back to clean eating by the time they head back to Missouri on Monday. Also hope I am not doing too much damage.

Will check back later to see how you all are. Sara, how is it going with you? Miss you!

Abigale - still have to read about Dr. Gravely, but the preview does talk about statins.

Want to cook some chicken legs wrapped in bacon soon...
Weekend - I want to cook rotisserie chickens then eat them all weekend.
Don't want to spend too much time in kitchen.

Sarah- hope you are doing okay with your little one... I finally tried the bullet proof coffee, yum! Thanks...

Today
B: sausage, coffee/hwc
L: salad with chicken
D: chicken legs/bacon or chicken salad(have leftover chicken)

Abigale - did you read this? I was concerned about cholesterol since it went up when I went on the A72 and meat only diet combo

Abigale - enjoy that family! Worry about woe next week!

Julie - Chicken Legs wrapped in bacon? sounds wonderful!

I cooked a bunch of turkey burgers and chicken drumsticks on Sunday and besides hard boiled eggs and some salad or veggies, that is pretty much it for me this week.

This was a statement from Robin Williams on addiction ...
"It's [addiction] — not caused by anything, it's just there," Williams told Diane Sawyer in October 2006. "It waits. It lays in wait for the time when you think, 'It's fine now, I'm OK.' Then, the next thing you know, it's not OK. Then you realize, 'Where am I? I didn't realize I was in Cleveland.'" Williams revealed he had spent two months "club medicated" in Oregon's Hazelden Springbrook treatment center.

Most of the time, I think my addiction to carbs is similar...

Happy Fourth of July gang!

Another busy day today. Brattleboro will have a race that ends on Main Street at 9 and the parade starts at 10. I will go over early and set up our chairs at our usual spot and wait for the straggelers. Not sure about this afternoon but we have a cookout at nieces's house at 6 and you can see the town fireworks from her front lawn. Not sure if I can stay awake long enough to wait for it to get dark. lol

Tomorrow will be a bit calmer as the kids are driving to my brother's house on Lake Winnesquam. The rest of the family will drive up Sunday for a picnic and swimming. We do this every year. It is such a fun tradition.

I have not weighed all week and really don't want to on Monday. But I will see what kind of damage I have done and will try my darndest to get back to clean eating. I have discovered that doing a pork butt in the crock pot is really good. Now I just need to find a really delicious recipe for a low carb bbq sauce.

Julie, Cheryl and Sara have a great day and same to everyone else that checks in here!

Good morning gang!

I plan to make some oopsie buns to use with our leftover pulled pork today. It will be a quiet day as DD and family just left for the lake and spend the night. We will join them tomorrow for a family cookout.

DD took a neat picture of the 4 grandkids with sparklers last night with an app she has. So neat!

Well I made 6 oopsie buns and had one delicious pulled pork sandwich. I had the last 4 wrapped on the counter a little too close to the edge and our black lab Bama ( for Roll Tide - Alabama!) jumped up and got into them. I should have known better. Will make some more tomorrow and keep them waaaay back on the counter.

We leave in two hours to go to the lake to meet up with DD and family. My two brothers and two sisters and their spouses and some kids will be there. It will be a lot of fun.

They will cook out chicken, steak and muscles so it will be a delicious day. Will check back later! Have a great day gang!

Good morning gang!

Made another batch this morning of oopsie rolls and used a big dollop of mayo instead of cream cheese. They came out just fine.

Determined to eat very clean now that the kids have left for Missouri. Just had a pork sandwich and froze 3 more portions to have in my sandwiches at work the 3 days I will work this week.

So glad I took two extra vacation days to recouperate! lol

Good morning gang!

Well this is the last day of my vacation. It has been a very busy one and will feel good just to relax some today. Going to meet my sister for coffee this morning.

Well after a week of being totally off plan I finally weighed myself today after one good day yesterday. I had only gained 1/2 pound. I couldn't believe it and am totally remotivated today!

Will make some more oopsie rolls today. Having a sandwich with a hamburg patty or pulled pork I find is filling and satisfying. I took a picture of the one I made the other day.

Have a great day!

Yahoo after my DD, I'm down 3 lbs.
Glad to get back to a plan where I am not out of control...
It was more like a month for of me on/off thing which as you
know never works!
Just meat today...
I have to plan ahead for the regular stall I get after losing 10 lbs...
I dread it...

Well, I have had 3 clean eating days in a row and feel much more energetic. Baking 6 oopsie rolls each morning and eating hamburg patties or just warming them with butter on them for breakfast. I am not crazy about eggs but in the buns and adding mayo as the fat in them instead of cream cheese they are working out great.

Also having a salad each night with vinegar and oil as I have one of those big plastic tubs of baby and radicchio left from my company that needs to get eaten.

Have a great day gang!

Sorry - I have been MIA - just been in kind of a funk

I was off work from July 4th to yesterday and all it did was RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS every day except yesterday.

It is very hard to be home with it raining and stay on food plan.

Getting it back together today!

Abigale - you might be interested in this article from the reading academy part 3 of how Peter Attia, M.D lost weight and lowered his risks for heart disease, inflammation and insulin. He has, as you may know, taken his own body as a test case. He is now low carb and the website shows from start to finish how this diet helps our bodies to many of the diseases of old age... He also shows how LDL typical test is used by doctors, but unless you take the in-depth test(lipid nuclear magnetic resonance test) measuring large or small particles in LDL, the typical test is not really a good indicator of what's really going on.

Tuna salad and pork skins today. I am happy after 4 days of clean eating I am in deep ketosis.

Plan to weigh tomorrow and hope to be down a pound. Only weighing once a week so avoid all the ups and downs and only working to be down a pound a week.

Cheryl, good to hear from you. Yes, to have a rainy vacation is the pitts and would be very hard to stay on plan. Hope yesterday was a good day and have an even better one today!
