We had a great time last night at the restaurant. There ended up being 11 of us! I did end up having the ceasar salad. I guess when we all get together I don't want to eat anything complicated or messy and spend my time chatting and listening to everyone.

So glad it is Friday! I do have a long list of things to get done tomorrow morning and may tell myself I can't get on the computer until most of them are done. Sort of the dangling the carrot in front of the horse - lol

Hang in there gang. We are all going to have ups and downs but as long as we keep picking ourselves up again it will all work to our good!

Hi everyone, hope you are doing well today

Abigale - good, you sticked to what worked for you!

Here is an article/study that I live everyday and like many of us knew what worked even without the study... part of an article from dr mercola,

In the past, it was believed that skipping breakfast might hinder weight loss, or even make you gain weight, but recent research demonstrates there’s no truth to this theory.(forbes 2014) As noted by David Allison, senior investigator of the featured study and director of the UAB Nutrition Obesity Research Center(medicinenet)

"The field of obesity and weight loss is full of commonly held beliefs that have not been subjected to rigorous testing; we have now found that one such belief does not seem to hold up when tested. This should be a wake-up call for all of us to always ask for evidence about the recommendations we hear so widely offered."

TGIF for sure!!

Morning all

Sorry I've been MIA this week, we've had DD Dr appointments out of town all week. That's a long story that I need to share but don't have the time right now to put it all into words.. shell be having surgery July 30 to put tubes in her ears, have her esophagus scoped to check for tears and scarring, have her stomach and upper bowel scoped and biopsies, and possible partial removal of her atenoids. Also found out that her GDD and failure to grow is moat likely due to negligence by her 1st and 2nd pediatrician. The warning signs were there, they just didn't take it seriously or want to go through the hassle of sending us to specialists then even though we knew something was wrong. So now she is paying for it and I am furious- there's much more to that story, but now isn't the time! Prayers and thoughts for her and for my sanity!

Abigail-glad you had A good time with family! Our electricity goes out anytime it storms, so I know all about resetting all your stuff, such a pain! Glad you got it all fixed. How's the wood stacking coming along?

Cheryl- glad you had a good time on your trip, sorry it rained so much though!Hope your DD is feeling better, had all 4 of mine cut out at 13 and it sucked! Hope she recovers quickly

Julie- thanks for all the book and article postings, they give some good thoughts and motivation. Hope you see some results with JUDD, what is it exactly?

IWMTW- fingers crossed for the other job apps. Sorry you weren't selected this round. I've had the same thoughts about jobs being given to others who had experience but no qualification s or visa versa or they already have people picked out for the position, but they have to post it for legal reasons ya know. Either WYoming it sucks good luck with the fat fast, it always works well for me when I'm able to focus. That's great about a bonus, gotta love any extra that comes in!

Hope you all have a good day, chores and a whiny little girl for me today! Ill check back later

Sara, so sorry your little one has to go through all this. My prayers are with her that these procedures will really help her and that she will catch up on the growth chart.

I had a schedule early this morning that I stuck to pretty well. Things always take longer than you think though. I did get another 6th of stacking wood done. I think I am done now and will let DH finish it. Gave the frig, two bathrooms a deep clean and swept and shop vac the dust off the garage floor. We spend alot of time out there when the kids are here. It is cooler, out of the sun and we set up the ping pong table and umbrella chairs out there. Then this afternoon we went to my brother's mother in laws memorial service. I may have mentioned she passed away sort of suddenly while brother and wife were in Israel in April on a Christian tour. So sad.

Julie, I have always been fascinated with JUDD and believe it works. Best wishes and keep posting here and let us hear of your progress.

Have a great evening gang!

Busy day again today. Church, breakfast out with DH, brother and sister in law. Back to Church at 11:30 for something special going on. Then to grocery store, stop and visit with father in law, then home to do some projects to get ready for DD and family coming from Missouri on Saturday. phew!

Will have bacon and eggs as usual at the restaurant and not sure about dinner yet.

Will check back to see how everyone is doing later! Have a great Sunday gang!

Good morning gang! Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was super busy.

We cooked out rib eyes last night and I have leftover's for lunch today and tomorrow. Love not having to fix something to take with me and just pull it out of the frig and pop it in my lunch bag.

Will check back after work to see how your day went. Have a good one!

Well I tanked on my 2nd DD day of JUDD, just can't handle being hungry so I have gone back to just meat and am here to stay... I need to get back into ketosis so may just have a tsp of CO to get there... What I did learn is that carbs do put me in a up/low feeling I had forgot about, so like Atkins said I am allergic to carbs...I may do intermittent fasting, like going all day and then having a sensible LC dinner...

Hope everyone has a great LC day and sees losses today!

Good morning, all! Busy weekend! Ashley was in pain most of weekend for the bottom 2 teeth - they were laying straight across and he had a hard time extracting them. So, it was very swollen and she was very cranky. Sunday was a little better.

Danielle moved back down to me from Jacksonville - she got a super job about 30 min away from me and she is staying with temporarily to get rid of some debt. She unloaded all her stuff into a storage unit Saturday night then set up her old room (my beautiful guest room) and then went back to JAX with her boyfriend to finish her last week at old job. I am happy to help her!
Whew!!

Sara - I am so sorry for your troubles and you will be certainly in my prayers!

Julie - I hate being hungry, too! I am diabetic so I really can't fast but I can certainly eat LESS - lol

Abigale - Bet you are looking forward to your DD coming! Nothing like a grilled rib eye steak - yum!

I have a dr apt at 2 pm to check my bloodwork, etc - hope all is okay! I have high triglycerides, diabetes, which causes my hypertension (not too bad) - so I hope my numbers are okay especially after my NY trip and all those carbs.

Julie, sorry JUDD did not work out for you. There was a time I could eat very few calories like on down days but after dieting for so many years every diet known to man I don't have the will power to eat very little. With a diet of meat, chicken, fish, eggs and fats I have the energy I need for the day. Feeling good is a wonderful thing. Feeling up and low does not work for me. Glad you are back and motivated!

Cheryl, hope the blood work goes ok today. So nice you can help your DD get out of debt as she starts her new job even if she has taken over your beautiful guest room. lol Yes, I can't wait to see DD and 4 grandchildren. I haven't seen them in over a year! We used to all live in Alabama only afew hours away but they moved to Missouri and we moved back to New Hampshire.

Leftover rib eye again today. The price of meat is getting so expensive. I am thrilled I have gotten two more meals out of our Sunday dinner!

Have a great day gang!

We had salad with our steak on Sunday and I don't want to waste the rest of the bag of salad mix. So am bringing it for lunch today with some Italian dressing. Will have pork skins on the side.

Work was very busy yesterday. We had to lend some of our group to another dept. so our line which usually has at least 4 people working it only had two. We were hopping but still quite productive!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hey, all!

Yep, not doing that good eating wise. I started again today, trying to do lc and be good! I have to get out of vacation mode and stop eating anything I want.

Julie - I know I am in Florida, but boy, it is ever humid and gross and hot out! Not even July

Abigale - you sound like you are doing good! When I am really busy at work, I don't think about eating which is a good thing!

Sara - I am thinking of you - hope you are ok!

Julie, I wish I could eat just one meal a day. If I were at home I could probably do it but eating lunch at work would be just too hard just sitting there watching everyone eat. I think you will see faster results if you can manage it.

Cheryl, as long we can start off good every day we can keep things in check and slowly wean ourselves off carbs we are going to have success!

Just cooked hard boiled eggs for egg salad.

Have a great day gang!

Abigale - thanks! I am so bad during the summer...with cravings for fruit...
If I can not eat during the day I feel I have some control... One thing that happens when I do this my body temperature goes down and its warmer on my floor so this helps...or a walk outside feels good...

Has any one heard of this...toxicology expert Dr. Woodrow Monte (author of the book While Science Sleeps: A Sweetener Kills), explained the links between aspartame and methanol toxicity and the formation of formaldehyde.

This supposedly causes problems like alzheimer's, brain damage to pre-term delivery.

Its like a sauna out there.... Its hard to get enough water in ... When I get dehydrated I get nauseous. Maybe its also a salt problem...? I will try to take some salt when this happens and see if it helps!!

Stay cool Cheryl

Just had a conversation with a co-worker that lost 85 pounds. He said (and I used to do this too) there are benefits to using green tea and losing weight. I remember reading about this actually after the fact. I am adding this back into my daily drinks... I normally drink 2 large cups of coffee/hwc then switch to water or decaf iced tea, but since the aspartame/splenda thing I am going back to green tea or genmai chi green tea (its like the tea they serve at japanese restaurants) I love. For me it also helps curb my appetite...and I'll take this any day...

Sorry for the ramble...have a great day...

Good morning, all!

I weighed this am and it was not good - still up a few from my vacation carb-fest. But I am officially re-starting today. My blood work came back just ok. I need to keep working at my diabetes and triglycerides. Doc said she would like me to lose 25 lbs by Dec, my next appt. She said we would see a great improvement in all my numbers! So that is it!!! I am done. Next year, I turn 60 and I need to be fit and healthy.

I have an hour spin class after work and I worked out last night with weights. Time to keep my mouth shut and stop eating..........

Julie - it was humid when I was on Long Island, too then the rain came in. But at night, it was good sleeping weather.

Abigale - Good Morning!

Where is Sara?

Evening all-time

Cheryl thank you for thinking of me!

I'm still here, just taking some time off the electronics to try to focus myself. It's been a pretty tough mental days since we got back from dd's appointments. Having to really grasp that this is our new normal and it's been hard but I'm working through it. Good news- scale read 182 this morning!!

Hope you are all doing well and staying on track. Will read through and catch up with you all after the weekend. My best friend is coming down from Fayetteville for our bi-annual visit. I travel to see her around Christmas and she comes here over the summer. I'm super excited and couldn't have come at a better time.

Hope you all have a great weekend

Sara, great on the 182! Have a great visit with your friend from Fayetteville! That's where I fly in when I visit DD and family in Joplin, Mo. Son in law works in Bentonville. DD and family start the long drive from Missouri to New Hampshire to visit us today. It will be two long days of driving. We haven't seen her, son in law and 4 grandchildren in over a year. Can't wait!

Cheryl, 25 pounds by Dec. is very doable. I bet you will lose alot more than that by then. Your Dr. will be very pleased and your numbers will be much improved. Keep working out and build up your strength. I never work out but fortunately I have alot of physical work at my job which forces me to use alot of muscles. I am much stronger than I was a couple of years ago before I started this job

Julie, what is it in the green tea that helps with weight loss. I lost quite well when I was doing the no reward eating and I drank green tea instead of coffee. I didn't give any credit to the tea at all. I was just trying to get a little caffein without using cream.

Egg salad and pork skins for lunch today.

Have a great day gang!

Hello all hope your doing well today, Friday!

Sara - congrats your loss!! Hoping for the best with your DD...

Abigale - I was researching the reason behind the green tea(forgot about the whys, its been awhile...)

- Green tea can counter the threat of excess triglyceride because it has a high amount of polyphenols. Polyphenols function to activate a certain enzyme in the body, and this enzyme will dissolve the excess triglyceride. This means that the fat content in your body will be reduced if you are drinking green tea on a regular basis.

- It has been proven that green tea can help the body burn calories and fats.

- Green tea provides a number of potent antioxidants

- The catechin polyphenols that are present in green tea will stimulate your muscle cells and liver to use more fatty acids.

- Green tea can accelerate metabolism by 4%, and this amounts to 100 calories a day.

Julie, thanks for the info on green tea. Need to pick up some and start back drinking it.

Cheryl, glad you are having a good day. My day has been super busy too. DD, son in law, and family will be here in the next hour. I am so excited as I have not seen her and 4 grandchildren in over a year.

Will check in early tomorrow!

Family arrived at 9 last night safe and sound. Only plan so far for the day is Church at 8. Not sure if we will go out for breakfast. DH is having a foot problem and may not want to do any extra walking. We may cook out chicken later in the day. We have plenty of eggs and bacon if we come back home for breakfast. Need to refresh myself on the time and temp to cook a pound of bacon in the oven.

Will check back later. Have a great day everyone!

Very busy with family but having alot of laughs. One of the grandkids asked to see MiMi's "book" last night. When they were little DD would call with funny things they had said and I would say I was going to put them in "the book". We were all hysterical listening to her read them.

Today the girls/ladies are going on our traditional shopping trip. 2 grandaughters, DD, sister and niece will meet in Brattleboro and go to the little shops on Main Street. I am not a shopper so only do this once a year. It will be alot of fun.

We had taco casserole last night and I put mine on lettuce for a salad. Grand son is going to cook the chicken legs tonight. I will teach him how to make the secret sauce. Have a great day gang!
