would you believe I have close to 100 pictures of the prom? I took pics and Chris and Kim and another friend of Chris and we all got each others pics! I was so glad to go and see all the girls-this boy has been a friend of Cassidys for years-just a friend-so he didn't seem to care to share in some of the pics with her boyfriend? the next prom is actually her current school prom-this one wasn't her school-this was her friends school-the next one is the amish school --and I don't think we will see a big limo or traipsing around the county for pics like they did this time-they have some lovely settings-I think they are planning on doing some at our house from what I understand and outside around the water-I need to get cleaning up all the branches that have fallen-Kim was joking that half of the class may show up here! I am not sure if she meant it for real or not? I don't think these kids will afford what this group did? just guessing though. I didn't know we had a limo in town that big! I don't get out much. times sure have changed! my grandmother made my dress I wore to prom-I wore the same dress both years-that certainly doesn't happen!

yippee for volleyball being done--I would much rather watch softball too!!! hope the season warms up--its rainy and cold here today! and dark and dreary--I hate working in the dark

Monica---Do you still think that bark collar will work? I am about to buy it at Amazon and I just wanted your opinion again on if you really think it will work. As spring is approaching and birds are chirping and squirrels are walking around she is driving us craaaazzzzyyyyy.

Jeanne - that was nice of her and her boyfriend to allow her to go with her friend. I am assuming he wanted to go and didn't have a date???

Michelle - the bark collar worked for our dog. Pip only had to wear it for a couple weeks. She will still bark if the large dog next door is out AND he lunges at the fence after her. Heck, she barks and I want to start screaming. But she barks 70% less than she used to and when she does bark, you can get her attention and she will stop. It's worth a try. I know, we were pleased with the results! GOOD LUCK

I think the friend asked Cass to go way before she even had this boyfriend-so he knew about the friend and was good with it-they both seemed very mature about it-kids seem more mature now than when we were in school too--there were lots of girls who escorted each other in the march with their heads high and they were having a great time-I don't think any girls went to the prom without a date when I went to school? these girls forked out the money for beautiful gowns and the whole pkg! awesome!! after the pics were done the boyfriend stayed with Chris and Kim and had pizza while Cass stayed at the prom! weird night!

good luck with the shock collar Michelle-do you have a tractor supply store up there? some of them carry them locally around here--maybe you won't have to order? I know that has to be aggravating. Amazon is pretty fast though!

BLAH day for me. I hopped on the scale and I am 177! That is high for me. So I promptly threw the scale out the window. I didn't, but man did I want to!

No I haven't ordered the collar yet, but I believe I will. Just checking to see if there is anything else there I need.

Monica sorry to hear of the gain.I so want to throw my scale away too, but I would have to throw away the mirrors too and then I would have discoloration spots on the wall to deal with.LOL

You are such a sweetie Michelle to take in those fosters--I remember when you didn't think Marcel would ever consider doing this and look at how he doesn't even care that you are doing this now? he must enjoy it too now or he would have put his foot down!! I have a wish list on Amazon that is 2-3 pages long-I keep adding and subtracting once in a while-just too much there and I don't even scratch the surface of what I would love to have!

I am having lunch with my friend Sharon tomorrow-after I get my hair cut and colored -then I will pick up our taxes-we have to pay this year-I was afraid of that-Bill worked all that overtime last summer! we get 70 back in federal but have to pay 534 in state! that state stuff always get you! and we just don't have any deductions-we haven't had to pay for a lot of years so I can't gripe-Jack really tries and does his best.. anyway-Sharon and I will go to lunch and that will make up for the pain a little!

Thank goodness for the president defending women in the gender gap for pay--about time someone is!!! it is way past time--now let it be a law!!!! too late for me but let it happen for my grands!

Jeanne the state stuff DOES always get a person.

Life is going here. I worked 12 hours yesterday, hoping to not have to do that much today!

Still at 177! GRRRR

Back from lunch with Sharon-Mexican-stuffed myself with a taco salad-so so good.

Hang in there Monica--stress and cortisol with keep you hanging on to that weight-it will drop off when things settle down for you... keep the faith girl!

Michelle-can you post pics of the new pups--I am anxious to see your new boarders.

Well today is about shot--I am colored and cut-and did a few errands and had lunch with my friend-it is really too late to think about getting much accomplished-maybe time to just kick back and read? sounds like a plan!!

Monica---You'll break that stall right away.

Jeanne---Glad you had a good lunch. Times with friends are so important.

Well today the vet gave me an anxiety medication for Twinkle. We are going to try this for awhile and keep our fingers crossed. So I'll hold off on the collar for now too, because some of the barking might be anxiety too.She says she might be a little growgy for a few days but then it should pass. So I guess she will be a little out of it while our boarders are here.Maybe I'll have good night sleep soon.

Hey ladies! Sounds like you are both doing well!

Jeanne - I love hair cut/color days! SO FUN! and lunch out, BONUS!

Michelle - I couldn't survive more than a couple days with little sleep. THANK GOD my babies were good sleepers. T slept the night through after 6 weeks and H after 11 weeks. DH and I even took turns, so it was only every other night! I still wouldn't have made it long!

Still plugging away here. Work, still stressful. The major day, was yesterday, so at least that is behind me!

Plans for the weekend ladies???

I am hoping to do a little yard work this weekend-Saturday is supposed to be good-rain sunday-I have LOTS of sticks and limbs to pick up after the winter and then I hope to get some preen down in my landscape if the wind ever calms down-that's my plan! maybe a cookout to finish it off?

Well the first sleepover night went well. Ben and Twinkle slept with me upstairs and Ralphie and Millie slept with Marcel downstairs. We kept them seperate because when they first got here Ben came on a little strong and made Ralphie uncomfortable. So Ralphie showed some aggression. Since Ralphie is 5x bigger then Ben we did not want to take any chances. But this morning everyone is more relaxed. They are very laid back dogs . I will try and take pics later.

More later from doggy nation....

very smart of you Michelle-I am looking forward to seeing Ralphie and Millie! how is the anxiety medication working for Twinkle? I hope it is doing the job?

I am watching the grass grow by leaps and bounds here-the neighbors have all about mowed the yards except one or two-that breaks my heart that it means I will have to crawl back on that tractor again-last year about did me in-I hate thinking about it even-I want a smaller yard!! and less landscaping work!

I already told Bill we are not doing as much garden this year-we have to eat all that we have put up before I work my tail off putting up anymore! I hope I stick to my guns-I do want brussel sprouts this year-I haven't had them for a few years-and I would like to try cauliflower again-ours last year didn't do anything-we never got the first good head!

I am anxious to get outside this weekend and just walk around the property and check and see what all needs to be done-that in itself is always a job when spring comes-there is a lot to be done here every spring! It all falls to me it seems since I am home... well-I better get busy-laundry is calling-trying to pay a few bills in between--have a great one--

Michelle doggie HAVEN is what you are! I am sure it is fun. Once they get used to each other, there won't be any issues. PIP, our 5 pound dog we got in August, she first would GO OFF and get aggressive with Jessie. Jessie is 45 pounds. Why a 5 pound dog would think that was a good idea is beyond me. It was funny really. Jessie just completely ignored her when she did that.

Jeanne - we have had several neighbors mow as well. I think DH plans to hold off till next week. I would also like to get out in the flower beds and preen and such. Next week is crazy busy for us, so it probably won't happen until after EASTER!

My weekend is busy this weekend. DD12 has softball this weekend, but she will miss most of the games. She plays tonight at 9:00 p.m. (WTH???). Tomorrow she was going to be allowed to play up till 3:00. Alas, their schedule has them playing at 2:30, 7:00 and 8:30. Crazy, huh? So instead we will leave town in the morning with DH and DS15 for DH's Dad's house. His DAD turns 80 tomorrow and we are hosting a HUGE party for him. I believe they think 200 people will be there. WE have 100 lbs of pulled pork in our frig thawing. DH has been buying it/cooking it/shredding it since January. We also have twenty 12 packs of pop, 3 cases of wine, 4 liters of whiskey, aboutg 200 buns, 40 bags of chips, 300 plates/napkins/silverware/4 cakes/4 large containers of mixed nuts---- actually, not sure we can all ride up together. It may take 2 vehicles! DH's brother is doing the baked beans and cole slaw. Party starts at 5:00 tomorrow and runs till WHENVER! Rumor is a band is appearing too, for FREE! I think all told the party is running each of us (him and his brother ) $500 each. Not bad for 200 people. Should be fun. We will see people we haven't seen in YEARS!

Sunday is RECOVERY. We will spend the night up there. Probably do lunch with his dad/wife and his brother/his family. It will be nice, but even better to be BEHIND US!

Have a great party Monica. It sounds like a lot of fun.

I too am not doing well with my weight but I have had to let it go for now. I will resume when I start to feel better about myself. Until then I just hope not to get too big.

good morning girls-it is a beautiful day here-Bill has already left to go mushroom hunting! I think it is too soon-I didn't go as I am sore after having a fall yesterday at Feed My Sheep-I was carrying a big box into a freezer and didn't notice a step up and fell totally flat with the box. I will remember that step the next time! It is a jar when you are this old! I feel it today!

Michelle-hope the dog sitting is going well--I thought about you last nite-Dolly gets jealous of the cat even so I doubt she would ever let us do something like that?

Travel safe Monica-sounds like a great time ahead

Tomorrow is my son's birthday--I really don't know how he got to be so old-I can't possibly be his mother-where did the years go? we don't have anything planned-we will all get together the weekend of Cassidys next prom to celebrate birthdays.

have a good weekend girls

Oh no Jeanne ! I'm so sorry you fell. I hope you are and remain OK. I'm worried for you now. Falls can be so deceptive and hit you in a few days. Oh but we won't let that happen. All positive thoughts your way.

Today I have to take Millie and Ralphie to an adoption fair we will be there from 11:00AM to 3 PM please keep your fingers crossed that the perfect family comes by and can't resist them. They are so sweet and gentle. You can tell they came from an abusive past. They are so submissive and won't play in fear of being punished. It is quite sad.

Time to make breakfast for all. Jeanne take care. I will check in later to see if you are OK . Keep me posted!

I am fine Michelle thanks for asking-some weird soreness under my armpits-I don't know if I ran that box under my pits when I landed flat on my knees but I might have? It bore the brunt of my upper body and I figure that is why I am feeling soreness there?

Bill's daughter and family came yesterday-I don't know if I had told you guys yet or not-but they were doing invitro-they did that the first time-Leah is going to be 5 in August-but anyway-they did it in February and she got pregnant the first try with twins-we were very excited when she told us but she didn't want to really share the news until she was further along-regretablly she lost the babies two weeks ago-she is doing ok-they meet with the doctor soon to find out what went wrong if they could tell after the D & C. I hope they try again-I feel like they will-they really want a boy-they are great parents.

How did the adoption fair go Michelle-anybody interested in Millie and Ralphie? I hope they find some good homes.. how about Twinkle-how is her anxiety medication doing?

Michelle - how did the fair go?

Jeanne - so sorry you fell. That is not good. I am also very sorry to hear about Bill's Daughters issues. Losing a child/even before they are born is awful. My prayers go out the them!

The party was great. I thought we all had a great time. I took hundreds of pictuers and I manned the bar. There was a LOT of drinking going on. Sunday morning T's therapist calls me to let me know, he has started Cutting himself. GOOD FEELING GONE! He is allowed to text her and told her he had done so. She walked me through what she thought would help. We tried talking to him, he wasn't really interested in talking about it. When he left for the youth group function, we hid all the scissors and knives. When he returned from youth group he was a mess. I do believe he and his girl friend are coming to an end. Honestly, if we survive, I think it is for the best. I try not to say much to him about it as I know he doesn't want my help.

So, we are not heading in the right direction.

I honestly don't care about weight at all now, although I have switched back to JUDDD.

Oh Monica all our thoughts and prayers are going your way. Don't worry about anything except your family. That is the only important thing. Is it the medication causes this cutting issue right now? I know so little about this...I wish I could help!

Sorry to hear about Bill's daughter as well. I hope things work out for them as well.

The adoption fair was busy, but no interest in Millie and Ralph. They are the two sweetest, gentlest dogs I have ever known, but no one will give them a chance because they are 13 years old. They have so much love to give though it is heart breaking. Why can't they look at it as for the 3 or 4 years they have left they will be getting the most grateful dogs that are so eager to please and love. I would take them if hubby would agree to them but he already said no. And Ralph and Ben had a few words when ever they got too close so I don't want anything to happen to Ben. Ralph's 60 lbs would win over Ben's 9 lbs.

Anyway, I am thinking of my two best cyber friends and praying for both of you. Hoping better times are just around the corner. I'm not interested in my weight right now either, but as this challenge closes I hope we continue on even if it is not a challenge. We have become quite close I think.I would hate to not hear from my best gal pals.

OH I want to stick with you guys. No way we won't start another challenge, no matter what the goal is!

Thanks girl. The meds aren't causing it, it is all his frustration that he doesn't know how to cope with. It is an interesting issue. Not sure how he fits all in to it, but I know it is frustration with life and not being able to communicate clearly to others. The cutting helps relieve the frustration as it redirects the brain to the pain and not to the frustration.

Monica-if the Prozac isn't the right medication to help him-don't give up--I was on several at different times to find the right one--there is hope-just hang on--I know how concerned you must be with this-thank goodness he felt comfortable enough to text his therapist-that means he knows and wants help to stop at least... will be praying also--life is so hard for teens-and families! what does the therapist suggest for a different outlet for his frustration?

Michelle-sorry there was no adoption for the Millie and Ralphie--I agree there is lots of love from older dogs-too bad Dolly is so jealous-she would never allow another dog I fear-and I really don't want to stress our old cat-he is just too nervous anyway.

I agree girls-we continue-if we didn't I would weigh a ton-at least we keep trying this way--I INTEND to restart with the next challenge--whether that is taken as a joke or truth-it is out there anyway! summer is coming-I better be doing something! I can't fasten my fat jeans!

77 degrees yesterday--calling for snow tonite!! crazy weather!

Jeanne - she has suggested taking a walk, punching a pillow, going through the steps she has been teaching him to talk himself out of self mutilation. I do think his MOOD has improved, so I think the meds are helping. Sunday was an awful night, but last night was much improved. We are desparately trying to think of ways to get him OUT of his room/computer to actually interact with PEOPLE! This summer, that will be our #1 goal.
Our weather has been nuts too. We were 1 1/2 hours north on Sunday. As we left Seneca, it was 48*, 45 minutes south, it was 65*, by the time we got home 78*! CRAZY! We had snow flurries yesterday and high of 42*. Today 55*! Spring, where did you go???

Michelle house back to normal now? I am sure you already miss the other doggies!

As I stated, last night was a better evening. That was good. I was exhausted and crashed early. I do think T is trying to improve. I think he just doesn't know how. He is alone so much.

Monica-couldn't get you guys off my mind last nite-you had lots of prayers coming your way-glad things are better-hope they continue to improve, praying

cool here today too-flurries and sleet last nite-Nate in Indy is still getting snow this morning! thankfully we have sun and just cool! I shaved my legs for this? I thought it was shorts weather?

any big plans for Easter with you ladies? I was planning a big dinner for the families the weekend following Easter since Nate and Rachel will be home that weekend to share in Cassidy's prom on Saturday nite-but then I decided I didn't want to totally spend my weekend or Sunday in the kitchen cooking when I wanted to spend it with the grands-so I have decided to cook a pork butt in the crockpot earlier and make pulled pork sandwiches and have salads with it and a dessert table! this way I get to enjoy myself also and spend time with the kiddos! I already feel more relaxed about it--I will have potato salad and baked beans, chips, etc-should be plenty- Colton always wants a variety cheesecake-so that will be one of the desserts-I will make a low carb something for me so I can have something to eat--I will be back on plan by then! I have had one good day back!

Michelle--is the snow gone up there yet? I sure hope it is leaving you-I am going to have to mow next week it looks like! the grass is growing here and the weeds in my landscaping sure are taking over--it has been too windy to preen-those early weeds are a killer!
