I have been doing low carb since January but every 2 weeks or so I find that I go off on the weekends and so therefore I cant get ahead. Hoping to get motivation from thsi website. I love what I see so far

Sounds good to me!!! I was gong to start on the treadmill today but I just don't have anything left after the day I had. Tomorrow. I will post my menu, my exercise goal and I am going to do something different this time around. I'm not going to be married to my scale. Every Monday I'm weighing. Only every Monday. I get so discouraged if I gain a half pound and that is so silly. Not doing that to myself this time! Let's go ladies!!!!

L - lettuce wrap - grilled chicken, lettuce, cheese, little salsa
D - ??

S - celery with cream cheese

I forgot my cousin is in town and he is taking me to Outback Steakhouse for lunch - I can get the 6 oz steak and house salad with oil/vinegar - very low carb and only like 400 calories!

So I will have chicken for dinner -

Have fun visiting with your cousin Cheryl!

I have to recant my weather statement from yesterday. It's actually warm today Going to be 39 the next three days!! Only got about 4" too, not so bad, yay!

I'll be heading back to the Y for another treadmill workout. I had just completed Ease Into 5k and was able to run for 30 minutes when my back went out I plan to start incorporating upper body and back strengthening to my routine today as well. Then I'll be doing laundry and house cleaning for some extra calorie burn

B: 2 eggs, 3 bacon strips
L: Salad with ham, veggies
D: Ribs, mashed cauliflower, broccoli
S: HB egg
Minimum 4 bottles of water (I struggle with this)

An Irish blessing in spirit of our challenge:

May joy and peace surround you,
contentment latch your door,
and happiness be with you now
and bless you evermore!

Good morning ladies!

Cheryl, The Outback sounds wonderful, enjoy your lunch!!!

Mortgagemom....39 degrees?? and 4 inches of new snow??? You can have it!! I grew up in the Midwest, and then lived in Colorado for 15 years....my days of 39 degrees and snow are over!!!

Today's menu most likely will be:

B: Bullet Proof Coffee (BPC)
L: Homemade pizza with cheese crisp crust
D: ?? Maybe chicken, we shall see

I'm not a big snacker, I'm usually far to busy at work during the day to think about it and honestly I'm not much of a night eater....not even dinner.

My goal is to increase my water intake. I drink lots of coffee and tea, but I need to drink more water. Exercise today will depend on work. I manage a couple of apartment communities and some days I'm out and about on the properties all day walking and inspecting units, etc, so I get TONS of walking in....some days I'm in the office on the computer non-stop doing reports....on those days I have to remind myself to get up and move about!

Have a great day ladies!!

Good morning everyone!!!

Today's menu:
B: 2 deviled eggs...mmmm delish!!
L: leftover ham, string cheese, cucumber with salt
D: taco salad with cheese crisps

Ok so.....feeling good about this today. The longer I can stay on plan, the better I feel, the better I sleep and my self esteem starts picking up.

Cheryl - Enjoy lunch with your cousin, that sounds so good right now. I'm going to get on the treadmill tonight for 20 minutes and get started. I may be at 20 minutes a day for a week but eventually I'll increase. I am so out of shape, don't want to hurt myself like I've done in the past.

Theresa-I went outside this morning and it honestly felt balmy at 37 degrees. It has been so ungodly cold here for so long. Supposed to get to 65 today, wish I could take off early and enjoy it! Thunderstorms by Thursday. Never boring around here that's for sure. The saying is, if you don't like the weather, hang around a couple hours, it'll change! I'm with you on the water intake. I don't like water so I too struggle to get mine in. I drink a lot of crystal lite(great value brand usually), have really gotten away from sodas but will have one every now and then and I don't like sweetener tea so usually won't drink tea either. Love your irish blessing!

Tammy-Ditto on your goal for water intake! I wish I was up and around more than I am during the day. I sit in a chair all day long.

Gotta get to work, have a great day!!!

So far so good today

I am going to spin class at 5 pm. I try to do a spin class at least twice, sometimes three times a week. Weight lifting for at least two and cardio for other days.

Ideally, when I worked out 5 x a week, I felt super! I have been slacking since the holidays and need to get going again.

Tasha - I need to make some deviled eggs. New York is getting hit again with snow today. My nephew who lives here in Florida decided to go for five days - he called me yesterday and he is freezing! lol

Gotta work - TTYL

Top o' the mornin to ya

Dont have a clue about todays menu but I never do. Took 1/2 a tbls of mct oil trying to get some bathroom production and it worked a little but it makes me feel yucky in the tummy. So not hungry now. Will do my eliptical 25 minutes. Get my water in since I woke up puffy, ring was tight and it hasnt been -so too much salt yesterday i guess. Will blame the no movement on the scale on the salt of course Cause I was perfectly on plan the last 2 weeks. Maybe tomorrow. Have a great day everyone!

I've never tried the mct oil, I usually take a half a magnesium tablet at night and problem solved in the morning. Usually! If that doesn't work, I'll take another half the next night until it does. I have to be real careful with this as I've had surgery and it was the worst one I've ever had and never want to have it again.

I take magnesium too but no such luck hope it evens out, no fun. And you would think with going higher fat the last couple weeks it would be a movin too

Can someone tell me some of the good fats I need to be including? That's always been a bit of a mystery to me and I've never done much investigating into it.

actually I just read an article on it, and I think I've been doing pretty okay without knowing it. I have some flax seed I bought I'm just not sure what to do with it really. Maybe after a few weeks on induction I'll add in the flaxseed muffins. I already cook with evoo and sometimes coconut oil. I need to add some salmon into my diet also.

Hello, everyone! I seem to be in the same boat as you ladies! I joined in 2003 and lost 60 lbs, but due to two back surgeries and being disabled now, I seem to have drifted away from my plan over the last year and have gained 20 lbs back of the 60 I lost! So yesterdays weight was 205.6 and today it's 202.4 so I am optimistic of getting back to original weight and then getting some more off.

Hoping to get to know you all better.. Lizzie

BTW I am a 44 year old housewife.. I had to sell my salon and quit working after the second surgery, so I know that the inactivity and boredom are causing my poor eating habits. I want to back to my leaner self ASAP!

Yesterdays food was coffee, grilled chicken and 3 meat sticks from the butcher ( as I was out with my friend and it was the best choice I could find!)
I, too, follow the original atkins. It seems stricter than the newer versions, but so much simpler to follow and worked for me 10 years ago.

OMG ladies....spin classes? Boot camp??? I feel good if I get a walk in! I'm going to have to step up my game!!!

Michelle, I haven't tried the MCT...is there a taste to it?

Tasha, for healthy fats I add coconut oil and butter to just about EVERYTHING! My BPC has both coconut oil and butter and I'll have a couple of those a day.

Welcome Lizzie! I've seen you around the boards over the years, it's nice to have you in our group!

Kelly, thanks for doing the spreadsheet, here's my info: Tammy / starting weight 220.8 on 2/17/14. I will also weigh in and report every Monday!

Hope everyone's having a great day!

My favorite Irish blessing to all you girls:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

and May we get this darn weight off................

Tasha, do you drink hot tea? I add it to my tea too.....it's really good! If you don't drink hot tea, then I don't know what to tell ya!

Ohhhh....except that I use coconut oil all the time for fat bombs!! that's another great way to get in good fats and up your ratios!

Kelly - thanks for doing the spreadsheet. My goal for this challenge is 10 pounds and I started at 215.6 on 2/17.
