Only down about 1.7# this week, but I was really unfocused and had a bit of a lapse. Down to business these next couple of weeks. I would like to get into the 180's by the end of March. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

Great job this week everyone! I only lost 1 lb this week but I'll take it. I am so close to the 120's I can taste it and I'm hoping I'll get there by Sunday when I leave for VK! Today I'm feeling weird.. a bit nauseous actually.. so I will probably not eat very much today unless I start feeling better.. On the menu so far is:
B- nothing
L- Maybe a salad with vinaigrette dressing and 1/2 OMM with a bit of cheese
D- Same as lunch
Plus lots of water today!!

Well it was not a good week and truthfully I expected more despite my failings. I am going to modify my low carbing this week to a plan I find more satisfying and that has worked well for me in the past. Induction has served it's purpose for me but now I need to take the slow and steady road forward. There is no quick fix. It will come off in good time. Looking forward to next weeks results.
To all those with weight loss this week. Good for u. Keep up the good work and congrats for achieving your goals.

Quick check in, things are ridiculously busy today as it's Monday AND the first of the month!! I have well over $100k in rent to process and my system is down, not allowing me to process a thing!!! Then, my BEST maintenance tech just came in and give me his two weeks notice, a rival management company offered him WAY more money than I compete with and of course he's got to take it....I would too in his position.....but it still puts me in a bad spot! Oh my goodness....what a Monday!!

I am so back on track today its not even funny.
Since I keep derailing to scoff chocolate/sweets/etc.
I had a light bulb moment, when I was at the supermarket this evening.

I am going to make my own, low carb protein bars.
I was craving sweets so much today, I had a protein bar for the first time...it did the trick. now I'm kicking myself, why did I not think of this before.
I am sitting here typing, and I am totally guilt free, no derailed eating....no beating Rob up, mehn this is a prayer answered.
I am so happy with this reinvention of the wheel.
Now I can indulge my sweet tooth, and not totally spin off into the eating Olympics wilderness.
I went to another site and they had tons and tons of recipes which I have C&P'd into my scrap book for later.
I am so pleased.

Hey everyone!

I feel so horrible for not checking in. I started Spring semester last Monday. I have 5 classes, 17 units with clinical hours at an emergency pet clinic, plus my other engagements so I am literally running around all day, sitting in a classroom, or face deep in a book. Good news is even with the crazy schedule and extreme stress I have been cheat free and on plan since Jan 3rd. I weighed in at 306.4 yesterday, so that's not a loss or a gain. I didn't exercise at all last week because it was so hectic, but I am taking a pe class, and I am hoping to squeeze in some exercise.

I hope all of you are doing well. I am going to go back and catch up on posts.

Here's my tentative food plan for the day! Going to really try and get all my water in today and go for my 10,000 steps. The first week when I was really diligent about that seemed to help my loss, so Im going back to it this week.

B:

I also made a Doctor's appointment in 3 weeks (for a med check), and I have this weird anxiety about getting weighed at the Doctor. I know the last time I was there I was around 190# so I'm trying to get back to there to avoid embarrassment. Does anyone else HATE getting weighed at the Doctor's??

Rob, you go girl! Way to stay on track and focused......please tell me how you're making your own protein bars? I would love to do something like that myself!!

LaVella, don't feel bad, you've been super busy....we all understand that!! That's awesome that despite the chaos you've held your ground and not cheated....I am so proud of you!!! You'll get a big whoosh, I'm sure of it! BTW, love the new Avi....you are so pretty!!!

Sammi, Don't ya hate those darn scales!!! You are on a great overall downward trend, keep it up!!!

Mariah, Love the menu!! Do you have a pedometer you're using to track your 10,000 steps?? I would REALLY love to get one of those bracelets....but those suckers are pricey! I may go out this week and get a decent pedometer though, I know I need to get moving more and maybe that would inspire me to get up away from the desk more!

Well Ladies, here we are on Tuesday already. I did great yesterday.....worked a 10 hour day, but stayed on plan. My calories for the day were 1114 and my ratios were 77% fat / 22% protein / 1% carb. Today will likely be similar.

I googled 'home made low carb protein bar recipes', and it took me to the site,
Its a weight loss site, somebody asked and folks submitted their own tried and tested recipes.
I heard the TOS here, says its verboten to mention another site, let alone post links I would have just given the name of the place where it was.

Enjoying doing low carbing my way. Nice sized salads with every meal topped with my favorite dressing. Delicious. Not counting carbs or doing menu's but I know I'm on target. Can't wait for my body to realize this. I'm practicing no restrictions in my diet, only portion control. If i really want something I have it and savior it. Expect to exercise 5 days this week with about 7-8 hours logged. Need to make sure I'm drinking enough water.

Good morning ladies!

Oh my I am so tired today....I have been having real trouble sleeping the past few days and it is catching up with me big time!! DH is having the same problem.....I'm sure if it's our metabolisms burning or what, but I am averaging about 3 hours of sleep per night lately!! And on top of that we finally got the sheriff out today for an eviction of one of the residents who has been a MAJOR problem (junkie) and I knew the apartment would be bad.....it was beyond bad.....he had let his dog destroy the place.....the smell was so horrific that the sheriffs deputies and my maintenance crew were all gagging.....thank heavens he's gone, but this apartment will costs THOUSANDS of dollars to repair!! Some people suck.

Rob, thanks for the heads up on the protein bars....I found some recipes that look FABULOUS and I can't wait to try them!!

Amy, it can be so hard with out of town guests!!! Do your best, and remember this is a marathon, not a sprint!!

Lea, good for you!!! I honestly believe that enjoying your WOE is the key to long term success!!! And besides, working out that much gives you a lot of room to expand your WOE. Good job!!

I have a Fitbit (one of the older versions) I got it from my sister last year for Christmas and I love it definitely worth the investment IMO, I also have the Fitbit Aria which is a scale. I like being able to track my steps and my sleep. Motivating to do better!

That sounds wonderful! I feel like I just need to put more emphasis on healthy eating rather than the number on the scale. I think watching that number all the time can make me a little crazy...

That sounds terrible! Reminds me of the houses or apartments you see on the show Hoarders. Glad he is out of there, Im sure thats been a real headache to deal with!

That sounds really good! You'll have to share the recipe!! Here's a soup recipe I'm planning to try out this week, it's tweaked for low carb:

Zuppa Tuscana

4 slices bacon, diced (I made more and use some to top the soup afterwards)
1 lb ground hot Italian sausage
1 large yellow onion, diced (I only used 1/2 an onion)
4 cloves garlic, minced (I used the preminced jar kind)
4 cups (32 oz) chicken stock
3 cups russet potatoes, cubed (I used 1 bag frozen cauliflower pre-steamed and 1 bag radishes that I quartered and roasted with olive oil and thyme in the oven @350 for 20 minutes till browned)
3/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 cups kale, in bite size pieces (I used 1 bag cut spinach, thawed and drained)
1 cup heavy whipping cream
parmesan cheese, grated

In a large pot, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain the grease. Add the sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks. Once sausage is browned and crumbled, drain off grease leaving a tbsp to saute the onion.

Push the sausage and bacon to the edge of the pot and add the onion to the center; saute until translucent; add garlic; saute until fragrant.

Stir in the stock and potatoes (cauliflower and roasted radishes) , season with salt and pepper, and simmer for about 20 minutes.l

Add kale (spinach) and heavy whipping cream. Bring to a simmer. Top with parmesan cheese (and extra bacon) when serving.

Rob, thanks for the heads up on the protein bars....I found some recipes that look FABULOUS and I can't wait to try them!!

Amy, it can be so hard with out of town guests!!! Do your best, and remember this is a marathon, not a sprint!!

Lea, good for you!!! I honestly believe that enjoying your WOE is the key to long term success!!! And besides, working out that much gives you a lot of room to expand your WOE. Good job!!

I made this delicious Kale, spinach, chicken, leek, soup...it is out of this world. Plus its so filling. a cup had me full for over 8hrs.
I just threw all the veg in the fridge into it,...I hate waste and it turned out so good.

You can do it Mariah. Don't give in. If you must, have one bite and savoir it. Be satisfied and move on. Think if all the reasons you want to lose weight. Recite them in your head. You want this. It's very important to you. You are strong enough. And if all else fails. Kno what you want. Portion it to meet your goals. But remember Nothing. Absolutely nothing tastes as good as thin.

Good Morning All,

Mariah I am on the struggle bus too. I gave in to a few bad foods, but now I'm trying to shake it off. I'm thinking the dark, gloomy, cold days of January and February have affected my mood. I love winter, but this seems like a long one. We can do this Mariah! I find going off plan sometimes makes it so hard to get back on. Let's take this one day at a time. I'm with you every step. We can do this, we have come so far. Spring is almost here

Rob, the really sad thing is that he DIDN'T trash the place.....that's how he LIVED in it!!!!! It's really unbelievable the things I see everyday and the way some people live. You know, rent out here in California right on the coast is incredibly high....but it's amazing what people will pay and still live in absolute putrid filth....I usually have to write at least 4 or 5 health and safety violations to people every year. The folks who get caught up into drugs are the very worst....and that's what happened with this guy. Thank heavens he's gone.

Lea, I survived the day AND got a great nights sleep.....feeling MUCH better today!

Sammi, Shake it off....we can all do this!!! You are so right, I think the winter blahs do affect everyone from time to time.....but we have all come so far....and if we keep it up we will be looking FABULOUS this summer when we all want to look good!!

Hi ladies....I hope everybody is doing well.
My erythritol came, I was so excited, I used it to sweeten some coffee, Suddenly It reminded me why I don't chew SF gum....its made from similar stuff.
I am sitting here feeling as sick as a sick puppy.
Why can't I hate sugar that way?
I will not touch that erythritol stuff again ever...yuk.
