21 days, not counting loading and two days after, minimum. There are two typical rounds 21 & 40. I just went over my journals and honestly my longer rounds didn't seem to net much more loses by the end beyond the 21 day point. So that just made my decission 21 for me.

Funny how just making that decission seemed to take a lot of the pressure off.

21 days sounds more doable to me! A little easier to see the end I lost .8 on my first loading day

Getting a little skeered for my first true low day tomorrow! I have never done anything so strict in calorie allowance, but I want fast results and am hoping the losses will motivate me to stay on track. Terri were you able to stay on course for the full rounds before? I guess I will strive for perfection but will not use a small slip as a reason to all out abandon the plan, which I am prone to do!

Wow!! Those are some awesome results! If I get in the low 130's I'd be ecstatic.

Do you think we will lose a little less or a bit slower since we are not doing the strict protocol?

A couple things to consider. I gained 6.3# loading. Because I followed all the rules and ate until I was about sick. But I also followed all the other rules, to the point of being afraid of getting a manicure. That is until my loses stalled and I took a friend’s advice and started alternating calories. Since then I have also come to the opinion that true loading was not helpful and wasted those lovely first week's loses. However the loses the first week were also a little less dramatic, more like a half a pound a day rather than a pound a day. Though 1/2 a pound a day is still incredible and I was never able to get that low any other way.

I've read about several different 800 calorie plans working just as well or better then protocol. I'm hoping that combining the aspects of low carb, higher calories and alternating calories we'll find a winner that we can also stick with long enough to make the loses stick.

Here's to us, we're on our way!

Up three from loading. My typical Monday bump. I had a good low carb weekend but still retaining water from the wine I suppose. I'm ready to get this show on the road.

I'm in...especially after seeing the scale this morning!! Let's just say wine was involved this weekend for me too. I hadn't weighed for a few days, and I was NOT happy to see the weight on the scale this morning!! BUT...it's okay, I know it will go down fast.

Jeanie-I know it is a bit nerve-racking starting this way of eating, but I'm telling you it works fast. For me, I always lose 12-15 pounds in two weeks....and it stays off as long as long as I handle any splurges with a "correction day" immediately. My problem in the past has been that months after P2, I just let loose for too long and then I find myself where I don't want to be on the scale and with my clothing. I'm determined to stay on top of things this time. I'm also going to incorporate exercise during and plan to do the 30 Day Shred AFTER P2, so I feel like I can maintain better this time.

Also, I agree with Terri that the higher calorie protocol seems to provide the same results. I have done a super strict P2, and I have done a very relaxed P2 with higher calories and more food choices; my losses were the same, and the stabilization process was the same!

Good luck, ladies. I'm so happy we are doing this thing! Can't wait until I'm in my smaller jeans...hopefully by next week!!

Quick question, Terri, do you do Spaghetti squash on P2? I haven't tried it, but it is my new favorite thing, so I was trying to figure out if I want to try to incorporate it!

Hey Lemon,
Welcome aboard! So are you loading or starting today?

I just bought a Spaghetti squash yesterday. I learned to like it "low fat" with fresh lemon and dill. How do you do it on P2? We'll have to be careful, 1 cup is 10 carbs, but well worth it to me. Do you know, on HCG 2.0 we don't subtract fiber do we?

I totally agree with keeping it off. I got lazy and figured "I could always do another round" instead of being vigilant and that lead to my demise. Not going to happen this time. Staying on the wagon is a lot easier than running to catch up and jump back on.

This morning I started with a boiled egg and one piece of bacon. Then munched on some fresh veggies to fill the hole. I’m definitely going to use the veggies. Lunch is leftover, skinless chicken wings and the rest of my veggies (cucumber, Daikon radish and cherry tomatoes). Dinner I’m going to make a big pot of stir-fry with shrimp, some leftover chicken breast, fresh asparagus, broccoli, celery, bean sprouts etc. and freeze up some grab & goes. What’s on everyone else’s menu today?

Terri, I dosed over the weekend, so I'm starting vlcd (or at least our version) today!

This morning so far:

1 c. coffee
2 c. Greens (it's just a powder I put in my drink that has 8+ servings of fruits and veggies, but no carbs)...helps my hunger and energy on P2.
Lunch: 1 piece Ezekiel Bread (80 cals), Smoked turkey, 1 T. Bolthouse Ranch (23 cals), 1 pickle, jalapenos, spinach, onions on top.

I'm not hungry at all, but I ate a LOT yesterday. We went to my mom's house for lunch and she made quite a spread. Knowing it was my last day before P2, I definitely over-indulged. She even had gluten-free strawberry shortcake. Whew! ;-)

For dinner...I'm thinking a tuna salad with my P2 honey mustard dressing I make, with chopped onion, cilantro, maybe a little bit of apple, over spinach.

I may throw in a protein shake mid-afternoon if I get hungry, but I honestly don't think I will.

Okay, Terri, you had bacon this morning??? Like REAL bacon? I've never tried it on P2, but I'm very interested in how you do that. My only problem is that it is hard for me to control myself around bacon! Haha.

I've actually never tried Spaghetti squash on P2, but your way sounds great...I was thinking herbs too. A little balsamic vinegar would be great if you do that.

I woke up with a terrible stiff neck/sore back today. I have no idea what happened, but I'm thinking I may have slept wrong on something! For that reason, I think I will wait until tomorrow to do my Callanetics work-out. I may go on a walk with my 5 year-old in a bit!

Have a great day!

Just got back from my morning Power Walk at break. I feel so bloated with water retention from the weekend. After my walk my fingers were little sausages. I kept thinking how I couldn’t wait to start feeling slimmer again.

DH and I have been doing Atkins ’72, he still is. So I cook up bacon over the weekend and prepackage in foil. Then in the morning I heat up in the toaster oven and don’t eat it until I get in the car. I find the pre-packaged grab & go technique a much easier way to limit myself. Also I log the calories on my tracker the night before and kind of outline the day. That helps me from coming up short at the end of the day. I figured I’m going to embrace this whole “our way” concept and make it as happy and doable as possible. That’s my best chance of actually finishing a round. I can really identify with “feels like round 500”.

Hope your neck is better! That‘s a bummer way to start the week.

How you doing today Jeanie Girl?

I haven't combined before, but I don't really see what it would hurt! Maybe try it for a day and see! Sorry about the hunger!! Green Tea and my Greens drink usually help me with that!

Hi girls!

Got my pellets today, so I used the amino stuff while at work and took 3 pellets when I got home and found that they had arrived. I am starving too! I have definitely been eating the veggies today!!! We can do this right!?

Too tired and hungry to work out, did the arm challenge and that's it.

Lemon
I woke up with the neck thing the other day, it really hurt and trying to turn my head to back in my driveway was really painful. It lasted two days and then it got better. Hope yours gets better quickly!

Okay I had a cup of Bonkers Virgin Tea I had in my drawer. It's a "mate" blend. Hunger is better. YES we can do this. This first few days are always the hardest. Getting used to the new way of eating and then the loses start making everything okay!

Ha, Ha you're a HCG blender too! I'll be interested to hear what you think works best for you.

The amino stuff tastes vile, but it was all I could find locally while I waited for the pellets. I think I will try just the pellets for a few days and see how I feel.

I ate a boatload of cabbage cooked in chicken broth and had an iced coffee. I feel less hungry now....but a little gassy from the cabbage

So funny. I just tallied my calories for the day and it came to 500 on the head! I didn't even plan for that! I'm feeling perfectly satisfied tonight, so the HCG1234 must be doing it's magic.

So, Jeanie, are you using HCG 1234, or something different? I just ask, because my stuff has absolutely zero taste to it, so I thought you must be using a different product.

Terri, that tea sounds great. I need to get some tasty teas to get me through P2. All I have right now is Green!

My stir fry came out with great protein calories 133, but the carbs where kind of high 16. Shrimp, chicken, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, celery, bean sprouts, onion, garlic. Of course those are total carbs, not net. I didn't put any additional seasoning in it so I can just go with how I feel. Tonight I did Franks and salt. Tomorrow's lunch I'll probably do soy sauce & ginger.

I was still pretty hungry even after a couple glasses of Crystal Light. So I filled the hole with 15 green olives. Ended the day with 521 non veggie calories and 30.7 carbs. Whew, tough one today. I think I'll go with HCG1234 tomorrow. Maybe do pellets at work for convenience.

Great job Ladies!! We did it!!!

Sounds like a good day for you. Glad we made it through!! I would just go to bed now to avoid any desire to eat something, but I need to write one more press release for a client before I call it a night! sipping on my tea and water with lemon wedges now. Day 2 and 3 are historically where I F.A.I.L., so I'm going to do everything I can to stay very focused tomorrow! I'm purposefully wearing my jeans that are too snug right now to keep my brain on the goal. When I wear my yoga pants, I start to get a little too comfy!!

Good night!

Awesome, Terri!!! I woke up this morning to a not-so-welcome friend, TOM! Ergh! This happened to me one other time when I was starting a round...it's here about one whole week early! Oh well...I still dropped 3 pounds, which is a miracle, because I feel like I'm retaining water from TOM.

I woke up hungry this morning, after not really being hungry yesterday, so I'm having coffee and Ezekiel bread toast with a little coconut oil, stevia and cinnamon. It tastes so good!

The rest of the day, I'm thinking Turkey wrap with a low-carb tortilla and lots of veggies for lunch....and possibly a white fish with veggies, maybe brussel sprouts, tonight for dinner. I may have a small bowl of berries with a dollop of fat-free Greek yogurt at some point if I get hungry during the day.

Hope everyone has a great day!
