Welcome, easwann!
Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!

I'm procrastinating like usual in posting. Still on track, had so much meat at a Brasilian Buffet for VDay that I ended up with a slight case of Gout. But the Celery Seed Extract vitamins I take, got rid of it quick in 2 days versus a whole week to 10 days of pain.

I'm right now recovering from a dang Sinus Cold From Hell that hit me out of nowhere from a light case of sneezing on Sunday, woke up Monday with chills, aches and sinuses galore. I've probably lost a couple of extra pounds quickly because of it. Had a lot of chicken broth.

It's TOM time so I had a great NEED for chocolate and ended up buying a bag of Russell Stover Pecan Delights. I'm gonna be dreading the restroom the next couple of days.

I'm hoping I get my copy of Atkins '72 by Friday. I ordered it off a book trading site last week and it seems to be taking forever to get here. I'd really like to read it. So far it's working really well.

Well, hope you ladies have a great night and hopefully with get a chance to chit chat with ya tomorrow

count me in too!

I've been struggling with food temptations and I know this is the best way for me to break them.

So my plan is to do the induction phase for two weeks and then ease into the next phase, not crash into it full force like I've been doing.

I might need a little hand holding...

ok, cleaned out the fridge. Sent some grapes to work with hubby. Found a large bag of M&M's, told son to hide them from me, so he puts them on top of the fridge. Um, I can still see them! LOL

Stocked up on some lean meats, salmon and jumbo eggs. Cheddar and Swiss.

I already had green olives. I buy them in bulk at Sam's. Love 'em!

I'm ready for the weekend...

Was up really late last night, had made baked nachos for the fambam for dinner, and ended up eating half a plate of them at like 2 in the morning. Somehow, some way, I didn't get kicked out of Ketosis today. I was even 1lb down from the day before. I was surprised out of my gourd! It's the 2nd time I've fallen off the Atkins wagon since I started, and must learn to control the urge until I get to goal and slowly introduce stuff like that back in small increments. I really miss chips and salsa. I'm kind of pork rind-ed out right now.

How you gals holdin' up?

Hi easwann, the plan fell apart after dinner, when I spotted those M&M's

My son was leaving the house so I sent what was left out with him! Should be ok now, whew.

Bo(I'm not gonna call you Fatty OR Batty, LOL)it's hard when you are cooking for the fam. At one point I was doing really good and my son says, "Am I on a diet?!" I told him he was just eating better

Hi, KJ!! Good job saending the mnms with your son! I do much better when the cupboards are clean. My brother is living with me and he brings junk in too. I was having trouble staying away from them, but this week I feel a new determination. It might be the idea that July 4th we will be on a houseboat with 3 other couples.. AACK!!!

oooh, that sounds like fun! Especially after this winter we've been having. Hang on to that determination! Where in PA are you? My sister is in Pittsburgh.

I bought a swimsuit on the sale rack - so cute and only $16...but a size too small. It's hanging in my closet where I can see it every time I open the door. Maybe it will even be too BIG come summer

everyone! I'm back from the Games...Did my best to stick to Atkins but had to make it work with what was available. Didn't do TOO badly, I did keep it lower-carb, but not as low as I would have liked. Glad to be back home and able to eat the right way again!

KJ... I am on the other side of PA... About 25 miles from the New Jersey state line. I bought a suit that's too small for motivation too!

Chip..glad you're home. Nice job sticking with it the best you could!

Have a great day...

Welcome back, chip! How is the weather up there? It's been a cold winter. I'm heading south for Texas in a couple weeks so it will be nice to get away for a little while. Trying to psych myself up with good eating habits beforehand so I don't loose total control while I'm gone!

easwann, hope you are staying warm too. My main mode of exercise is walking but haven't been getting too much in lately. I've been doing the mall walking but stop and shop too much!

Last week, I would have said our winter had been pretty mild... we just got a dump of snow, so maybe we're just heading into things a little late!

Sick with bronchitis but trying to eat right still... definitely harder when i feel like this!

How's everyone doing?

oh, I know it's hard to eat right when you're sick. Hope you feel better soon, chip!

I had a good week, 3 lbs. gone! The beginning of the week, I cooked up my roast, chicken & salmon. I've been rotating those three with my salad for lunch & dinner.

Breakfast is usually a fried egg & bacon

for a snack I like to microwave small chunks of cheese for about a minute. They get crispy when it cools - like a chip!

That's a good idea, kjwalsh...cooking up meat for meals for the week! It's much easier to stay on plan when you're prepared!

Hubby and I went to Chipotle for lunch. I ordered the salad with steak, salsa and cheese. I like going there because you can choose what you want and avoid the carby stuff. They did serve it with a dressing that added a kick and wasn't sweet, so not a lot of carbs there.

It was good...

Hope you all are having a good weekend!

WOE: Atkins 72
Start Date: 3/2/2014
Hi! Today is my 2nd day on Atkins '72. I have diligently followed the rules and I don't find it vey difficult - except for giving up my cream. I really find 4 teaspoons to be a miniscule amount for my coffee, and I was used to drinking 2 large mugs of coffee every morning, with at least 2 Tablespoons of cream each! And sweeteners, too. So it has been difficult for me these past 2 days not having my normal "breakfast". I tried drinking a cup of hot chicken broth this morning which was delicious and satisfying. But I really want to give the Atkins '72 a chance to start working for me. I have been on the "NEW" Atkins for a month and just ended up gaining a pound I think the whole 20g of net carbs, 12-15 coming from foundation vegetables thing is way too many carbs for me. Plus, I was still drinking my creamy coffee in the morning all month. The whole program/formula/whatever seemed to be unbalanced and not right for my body. Like I said, I didn't lose a thing all month, and actually gained a pound. So I am going back to basics and doing the original "72 version. I hope it kickstarts my weight loss. I am definitely in ketosis and I test high for it, so I guess it is a matter of time until I start seeing results. If any one out there has any tips, tricks or advice, I sure could use it to get my spirits back! I am one frustrated unit.

Hi and ! I hope you find the support you need here with us! I think that the net carb thing is so much more confusing...with Atkins 72, you don't HAVE to think about it, you just count your carbs and that's it. SO much easier, IMO!

I was never a coffee drinker but had an addiction to Diet Coke. I weaned myself off mainly because of the aspertame but also if I wasn't drinking that I drank more H2O.

Spent a part of the weekend preparing my meals for the week. I ground up some hamburger, broiled pork chops and fried up some bacon.

My hubby got in on the fun and made egg salad. It is really good but I think it needs...BACON! of couse

Well, today is day 4 of my '72 and I am down by 6 lbs. By giving up all vegetables (gross anyway - don't miss them at all) and cutting out the cream and sweeteners, my body is responding and finally giving up the weight. I am just so carb sensitive that the "New Atkins" version with it's 20 net carbs thing was just too much for me. I will just get my carbs from bacon and eggs, thank you very much.

My goal was to stick with it for two weeks and I did! We are leaving for Texas on Saturday, so wish me luck that I don't put back on the 5 pounds that I lost...

I'll keep checking in to keep me sane in all the insanity out there!

It is day 8 for me on the Atkins '72 and I have lost a total of 8 lbs as of this morning. I went a couple days with no change, but then my period started and I have now seen an additional pound lost this morning. So I am certain I will be seeing another couple lbs lost after it is over. I am very happy with my results. And I am having no hunger or cravings. My husband's snacks and sweets are not tempting me at all. I am going to try adding a little more cream in addition to the 4 tsp allowed on induction and see if it makes any difference. I hope not because I miss my coffee with cream in the morning. Just being able to have 2 nice cups of coffee will really satisfy me.

I am starting over today and back to the original. Paulette, I so agree with you..the newer versions are just too much leeway for me, so I am back to the plan that gave me results. I've regained 20 of the 60 I lost and with springtime around the corner.. ACK!!

Have a great day....

WOE: South Beachin' Atkins
Start Date: January 6, 2014

I'm still fightin' the good LC fight, just haven't been around much to post and comment. I've shocked my system 3 times by eating "normal" food in the last 3 weeks. Seemed to be stuck at the beginning of the month at 235lbs, then in the last 3 weeks, the 3 "shocks" with "normal" food in "portion control" knocked me down to 225lbs. So I guess I'm basically South Beaching over the weekends while Atkinsing during the week. Even with a small bowl of watermelon or eating 3 small taco tortillas, I've been in Ketosis, which means to me that my body has trained itself to burn fat in the last 2 months. I can't make excuses for what seems to be going off track, but it's working so far, and I've been getting a lot of compliments lately from a lot of people stating that I look "thinner" and "better".

I'm hoping to hit 200 by June 1st. My clothes really feel baggy, though I've taken pictures for the whole Before and Afters and I don't seem to see any difference but others notice them.

Hope you ladies are doing great! I'll try to post more.
