Morning Beachers!

No exercise this morning, though I did still get up at 4:30 am. I cleaned up the kithen and dining room which I have been ignoring for most of the week. Loaded the dishwasher and washed the pans. Yeah, at 4:30 am. lol I'm thinking I will bike this evening and start the new Patricia Cornwell book.

Less than 1 lb and I will be rid of my holiday weight!

HI Girls,
No workout for me this morning, my back is all jacked up from all the shoveling of the snow Last night I was in so much pain, I soaked in the tub and then laid in bed with a heat pad, this morning it was still sore so I figured I better skip the workout to let it heal all the way. I think its just sore muscles, tonight I am going to have Michael put some Icy hot on it for me.

Lil man had to miss his swim lesson last night because of his eye, but it looked much better today, so I sent him to school today and he will have his first swim lesson tomorrow night instead.

I got my shipment of the low carb bread products I ordered, I ate a chicken cordon bleu sandwich last night on 1 of the buns, I loved it!! This morning I toasted one of the bagels and had it with cream cheese, tasted a little weird, so tomorrow I am going to toast it and then put natural PB and sf jelly on it and see if that is better.

I also got a loaf of the bread, going to save that for maybe french toast Also grilled ham and cheese, yumm.

Anyway, I was at 197 this morning so that means the scales went down again, almost back to siggy!!

For Vday we will have all the boys, I am going to buy a chocolate fondue fountain thing and get stuff the kids can all dip inside it, that is their vday treat from me! Its a suprise, they have no idea yet.

Well my lunch is over, happy humpday girls!

Here is todays menu:

b- lc bagel w/cream cheese
s- sf latte
l- turkey soup w/dreamfields
s- dried apple chips & 1 deviled egg
d- Spaghetti w/dreamfields

Morning Beachers!

I got a workout in last night! I should have done one this morning but didn't so will have to do it tonight after work. And I really hate that, lol.

First time I weighed this morning showed all of the holiday gain GONE. The second THREE times I weight it showed a gain! I am sticking with the first weight! I'm sure it was lying the second 3 times I got on!

I started the new Kay Scarpetta book last night! I love that series!

Kel - We got a chocolate fountain for DS 16 birthday party! It was a HUGE hit. We will probably break it out again for his graduation party this year.

Cindy - I hope your meeting with the trainer goes really well!

Happy Thursday!

Hi Girls,
Weight was the same this morning, but I also didnt work out yesterday and didnt workout this morning either cause of my back, hoping I can workout tomorrow morning, we shall see how it feels!

Got some crappy news this morning, my mom is in the hospital and they have kept her overnight, they dont know whats wrong yet, my aunt found her on the bathroom floor not moving, I feel helpless cause I am so far away, Im hoping they figure it out and she gets better fast.

Busy at work today and I have homework I need to do, ugh! I also have to get stuff for lil mans vday party at his school tomorrow and he has swim lessons tonight, gonna be running! I pre-cooked up some chicken for dinner so I wont have to cook tonight. Michael has been working till almost 8pm every night and up and gone by 6am every morning, so that means I have to take care of everything at home by myself, I dont like that! Hopefully things change soon.

Here is todays menu:

b- low carb bagel with pb and sf jelly on it
s- none
l- last of the turkey & noodles w/dreamfields
s- devlied egg
d- BBQ chicken & veggies

Oh wow, I went way, way off plan in Belgium. So many good chocolates, beers and frites. Yikes!

I will say that I loved having my husband with me while traveling for business. It was great having someone with me to figure where to catch the bus, train, etc. I am usually on my own doing this stuff in foreign countries. I had 2 full days where he was left on his own, but he kept himself amused by walking all over the place sight-seeing and watching the Olympics!

The two vacation days I took were a lot of fun, we really enjoyed both Antwerp and Brussels.

In any case, I am starting "Boot Camp" tomorrow for the next 6 weeks. I am heading out to the grocery store this morning and plan on stocking up on lots of OP stuff. I need to lose at least 10 lbs (and probably more like 15 lbs after all the crap I ate this week!)

Kelly, so sorry to hear about your Mom, I hope it's nothing serious.

Cindy, what did the trainer have to say?

Tina, Congrats on getting the holiday weight off!!

Luisa, hope you are getting around a bit better...what a bummer.

I don't know about you all, but this stupid snow is killing me. Enough already!!

Wiz - welcome back!

Yes, and we have more snow on the way.
Are you freaking kidding me?

I met with the nurse again Friday - I love meeting with her! I weighed Friday and was up, but she said that between clothes, water weight, eating breakfast, sodium from the day before.....it's nothing I should be worrying about since I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing. She told me:

Quit worrying about the number on the scale.
Concentrate on eating right, watching portions, working out
Monitor how I feel

She told me she thinks I look great :embarassed: and I need to quit focusing on the scale. She was disappointed in the meeting with the trainer however, lol. She wanted her to actually give me a work out regime, so emailed her again. laugh We may be meeting again. The trainer basically said add 20 minutes of strength training in to what I am already doing. Even though it was a good meeting. She doesn't get what I am trying to do. I don't want to work out 7 days a week for an hour a day - I just don't want to. There has to be a more efficient way.

Ugh. My last two days weren't good. I had chinese Friday night and probably over ate compared to what I usually eat. Yesterday I got a kids meal from Wendy's, THEN had nacho's for dinner (at home so healthier), AND cake! So today back to the straight and narrow.

Ugh. ugh. ugh. So Wiz I am with you!!!!

More snow this morning.

Day 1 of Boot Camp went well! No cravings, hunger, etc. And boy, did I drink a lot of water. I was up all night.

Cindy, I do think you look great!! And maybe the nurse is right, the number on the scale is not always indicative of how you feel, look, etc. However, in my case, I can barely button my jeans. So I HAVE to lose some weight! I will NOT go up a size...

We got an invitation from some friends to join a gang for dinner on Saturday night for Italian food. As much as I enjoy everyone's company, part of me wants to just avoid any situtation where I will be tempted to eat off plan foods and drink wine.

Trying to decide what to do...I really wanted to get a good 12 days in before we go to Philly on March 1st. (Christmas gift to each other: Flyers/Rangers hockey tickets in afternoon, dinner out, night in hotel.)

Nothing is easy, is it??

Hi Girls,
I am back to work today and hanging my head low with the weight on the scales, was back up to 199 today! It just sucks, it seems like during the week I lose weight and just gain it back on the weekends, so I never get ahead

Back on the straight and narrow today. Michael and I had a fun lil get away. However we both decided that we dont want to do the bed & breakfast thing again, it was weird, felt like we were intruding in someone elses house lol. Plus for the amount we spent, we could have gotten our own hotel room.

Anyway, not much else to report, dentist appt today to get my teeth cleaned, doc appt tomorrow to have my back checked out and meet my new doctor (mine retired). Friday we have a hockey game with Michaels boys to attend, should be fun. Then just chill out the rest of the weekend, probably rent some movies.

Next weekend on the 1st we are taking the whole family for an overnight stay at an indoor water park, the kids are super excited! I have to try on my swimsuit and see if it even fits anymore, I am thinking of just going to get a new one for this trip. I had been wearing a bikini, but thinking that maybe a one piece might be better since we will be going on waterslides and what not, I dont need a wardrobe malfunction lol.

Here is todays menu:

b- low carb bagel w/pb & sf jam
s- none
l- low carb burrito
s- deviled egg & string cheese
d- spinach lasagna

Day 2 of boot camp was successful!

After the sun came out, I got a 3-mile run in and a 4-mile run this morning. I am feeling very out of shape. I was huffing and puffing during that last mile. I have a lot of work to do to get ready for the races I have signed up for this Spring.

Kelly, B&Bs can be tough! I prefer an Inn, where there are at least 10+ rooms and you don't feel like you are in someone's living room.

How's everyone else doing??

Oh and so much for me not traveling next week...off to Charlotte, NC. The following week is Mountain View, CA which I've had planned for a while. It is exhausting...

Morning Beachers!

Hoping to hit a new low weight this week. Not sure that it will happen, but I'm hoping!

Kel - The water park thing sounds fun! Hope your back is on the mend!

Wiz - I don't know how you do all the traveling. I am sooooo not a good traveler.

Cindy - Did you get a weight training workout? I would add the weight training and get rid of a bit of the cardio. (weights will lean you out, from what I've read)

Luisa - Bummer about the leg/foot! At least you've upgraded to one crutch!

Have a great day beachers!

Good morning! I got a very foggy 4-mile run done this morning.

Yesterday's eating was excellent and I had every intention of weighing in this morning, but woke up with ToM. Given that my stomach is protruding like a big melon I think I'll hold off on that weigh-in.

But of course, it's the weekend. Like Kelly, I seem to hold my own during the week but fall down on the weekends. We'll see.

Tina, good luck in reaching your new weight!! Very exciting.

Cindy, how was your week? Things going any better?

Kelly, any news on your back?

I've gotta run, it's going to be a very busy work day. TGIF....

Cindy - Have a great workout!

Wiz - Did you decide to go to the pasta dinner this weekend?

Kel - how was the dr appt?

Hi Girls,
Im so glad its Friday!! I dont know anything on my back yet, I had xrays done and now I have an appt with the specialist to go over them and try to figure out what the issue is on the 3rd. Its expensive though and not sure how much I can afford, Im hoping they can tell me like on the first appt, we shall see.

Weight was up this morning, I got caramel corn yesterday at lunch because work was stressing me out I hate when I do that, but sometimes I just have too!!

Hockey game with the kiddos tonight and cleaning house and chilling out the rest of the weekend

Have a great weekend girls, see ya on Monday.

I can only imagine!! You've had her right by your side for her entire life. While I am sure you are happy for her to move forward in her life, you are probably worried sick at the same time.

Hang in there.

Beautiful day at the Jersey Shore!! In the 50s and sunny. Went for a brisk 5-mile walk on the boardwalk, hung out at the coffee shop outside in the sun reading the papers, and did 1.5 hours of yard clean-up. Heading out to do some errands now...

And Tina, yes, we did decide to go out with the gang to the Italian restaurant. Wish me luck in ordering. Hopefully there will be a chicken or fish dish with no breading. I am definitely having some wine tonight!

That's it exactly, Wiz!

And I have to quit feeling sorry for myself! She's going to be down there for 4 months by herself!!!

Made some "healthy bowls" for dinner last night - so good!!! Chicken, quinoa, black beans, sweet corn, avocado. Yum!!! Lots of combos you can do!

How'd you do at the restaurant, wiz?

Good morning Vets!!

I feel like I did pretty well this weekend. Yes, I took Saturday night dinner "off" from SBD, but that's okay. In fact, knowing I was going to do that ahead of time really kept me focused the rest of the weekend. And even on Saturday night, I didn't eat dessert or anything like that. It was more about a couple bites of pasta and a forkful (okay, two!) of fried calamari. And I did have red wine as well.

I finally feel like I am back in the swing of exercising. I did 3 days of running last week, 1 bike day, 2 walking days and a 5-mile run this morning. I feel GREAT when I exercise. Mentally and physically.

How did everyone else do this weekend??

Cindy, that meal sounds great!! I love all those ingredients...

Kelly, caramel corn. You are killing me! LOL.

Tina, what's going on with you all?

FYI. My work week already started off with a bang...I got up really early to get on this conf call with India, and of course, none of them showed up. Nice.

Good Morning Girls,
Im having a rough day already and its only Monday Gonna try to stick to plan though! We are having problems with DS15 and marijuana. His dad and I are struggling to try and get him help but man this is rough to deal with. It was so much easier when they were younger, I hate dealing with this junk! If he cant get his act together, he may be looking at being shipped off to a military school. We are trying counseling and meetings and of course he is grounded, no phone etc. Im not really sure what else to do! Then last night someone tried to call me collect from jail and I have no idea who it was because I didnt answer my phone cause it was late at night and I didnt realize that was where the call was coming from, still dont know who it is.

Then this morning on the way to work, the car in front of me wrecked into the car in from of them, man these last 24 hours are really testing me! My eyes are all messed up today from crying last night. I really hope things work out. We are supposed to have a family trip this weekend to the indoor water park, we had told DS15 he couldnt go if he didnt get his act together, I dont want to leave him behind though, I am so confused

Sorry to dump all that all you guys, but I dont really have anyone to talk to about all this stuff!! Thanks for listening or reading or whatever lol.

I sure hope this week gets better!! I didnt get on the scales this morning cause I know its gonna be bad, Im gonna wait a couple days.

Oh Kelly, I am so sorry to hear about your son. And it is confusing about which path to take in helping them. Friends of ours did end up sending their kid to military school and you know what? It really worked for him. He is 21 now and absolutely a wonderful, respectful guy.

But I really think it depends on the kid and whether they want to embrace change or not. Thinking of you.

On a more trivial note, I got up the courage to get on the scale today. UGH!! Belgian beer, chocolate and frites did indeed take their toll. But hey, I am on the right track. I haven't had a snack at night in 9 days, I am exercising really regularly and have cut way down on adult beverages. I feel good that the weight will come off...I just have to keep this up.

How's everyone else doing??

Kelly - hang in there - and come in here anytime you want to even just vent - you need to get it off your chest and I find sometimes we can't even tell our IRL friends/family some of this stuff.....we don't judge - we just support. This can be very confusing - what is the right thing to do? Tough love? You just never know - you just know you have to do something and you and DS15's Dad are trying to do it. One day at a time.

I have been lamenting about my DD leaving for FL - I feel like a big baby sometimes, but we all go through these trials and tests......no matter what they are - we will come out stronger and better Mom's, sister's, aunts, grandma's ().

I love having you guys here!

Kelly - I am so sorry about your problems with your DS. I remember how nerve-wracking the teenage years were, and I wouldn't want to go through that again for anything. It is SO hard to know what to do, which path to take. You're doing the best you can and that's all anyone can ask of you. I hope you can get him turned around quickly.

I have done a good job of backsliding in the last few weeks. I had just gotten back in the groove after my Christmas gain when I hurt my foot. It's now been three weeks, and I have not curbed my eating while not being able to move around (which, as we all know, is a recipe for disaster). Part of it's boredom, part of it's having the food RIGHT HERE instead of being at work, and part of it is that I just plain like to eat. We're leaving in a few minutes for my doctor appointment. I would so love to be able to walk normally again (but I'm afraid my foot still feels awfully weak). We'll see what he says.

Cindy - Love your avi!

Wiz - Good for you for getting back on track!

Tina - How's your DH doing?

Good morning!

Now that I weighed in yesterday and got the bad news , I figured I will start weighing in every day. And guess what? I had a whoooosh. So the scale is inching down quite nicely.

I was craving a snack SO badly last night (some family drama...) and I didn't give in!!

Luisa, good to hear from you! Hope you get good news from the Dr.

HI Girls,
Just checking in, but not doing so well Got on the scales this morning and with all the stress and junk going on in my life, I am back up to 200. Trying to stick to plan the rest of this week, I have to put on swimsuit this weekend and its not going to be pretty. I went and bought what I call a grandma swimsuit, you know the kind with a skirt on the bottom and its a one piece lol. Oh well, such is life I guess.

Tonight I have a bunch of stuff to do around the house and some homework to catch up on. Not much else to report.

Luisa- Glad you are off the crutches and hopefully you can get back to normal life soon!!

Wiz- Great job on the losses, its always nice motivation when you see the scales going down!

Tina- Where the heck are ya??

Kelly, I'm quite a bit older than you, so the whole skirt thing works for me.

But here's what I wear: a two piece - the bottom is a swim skirt and I wear a bikini/halter top. It gives me coverage on my butt and hips, but my stomach gets nice and brown. Best of both worlds...By the way, I love the suits from Athleta. They are pricey, but they last a really long time.

Here's an example of the swim skirt...
