Better today, thanks everyone. Been to the gym and now had two boiled eggs with some crispy bacon (those packs from the supermarket, had some left over in the freezer from Xmas). Used it like soldiers, lovely. And, yes, last nights dinner was very good, thanks.

Shy, I am impressed not only by the slimming group but also by the U3A. Keep meaning to look into that but don't know how it would work with 2 homes.

Glad things are going well with the food Chloe, and hope you have a great weekend.

I hate real BPC, but I can join in the double cream gang, shy.

Slow hope the ear infection is clearing up. Don't overdo things. As if!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Universit of the third age but usually just putting u3a in goggle brings it up. Self run Social and educational groups for retired/semi retired is quick answer lol

I’m on a down day tomorrow too. My original idea was to keep down days very low carb, but then my husband said he wanted to eat entirely low carb, so I do sometimes have some on down days now.

You are very obliging wife Ailuros. Is DH losing well?

Loal, you'll be fine, as we know it isn't a race, although we would like to be at goal yesterday.

Having a nice indoor day today. Sorting out all the post Xmas stuff, like making stock from the carcasses (they had been frozen). Rendering the gorgeous goose fat. Generally bottoming the kitchen.

I am also about to get rid of loads of old recipes saved from magazines over the years. If they are special enough I will copy them out but truthfully I resort to the internet for inspiration these days. So these are simply taking up space. Tough sometimes but it has to be done.

Hope everyone else is making the most of the weekend.

He’s losing very well. He still has quite a way to go though, because he had more to lose than I did. He’s losing about 2 lb a week, so he’s making good progress.

Try putting mku3a into google and you should get the local stuff on it. Such a clever concept.
Today has been non stop again. Shopping, then farm, then more shopping and then dogs out. I broke my new pedometer so I have no idea how many steps I've walked I think it was a fair few.
I did get some seeds today so there will be some work in the polytunnel going on this coming week.
Does anyone else garden?
Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Oh lord no not me. My parents loved it but I didn't inherit the gene. I do love looking a gardens and I have some very successful indoor plants. With two homes that is quite an accomplishment.

I use a Jawbone UP but I am ashamed at how low my step count is and how successful my sleep pattern is. Seldom make my 10,000 steps unless I am away on holiday.

We’re both hopeless gardeners, but we’ve decided this year we’re going to tackle the jungle. I don’t see us growing vegetables, but I might plant some herbs. They don’t seem to like our soil much though .

2 x hopeless gardeners here too. Plus the soil is so rubbish where we live all clay and hard stuff. A hedge full of Leylandi (child football proof) and patio tubs...suit us fine.

DD going well so pleased with that. Encouraged DH finally today to start our New Year resolution to declutter....Only just a few bits in the loft (his words) have transpired to be a whole car load to the tip AND we are only half way through......BUT I have got him started and we are going to systematically work through the house "aren't we"!!

I do not want to leave for my kids what my Mum & Dad left for me - it was horrendous! Why do we collect all this stuff. All my kids baby clothes...WT*. Anyway bagged up lots of new stuff for the charities too.

Hope your day is going just as you want it too.

Lola- I am on clay soil too. You can still grow in it.
I grow just about everything I can think of. Most of what I don't eat I turn into wine.
Went around the carboot sale ( absolutely huge) this morning as I needed some books to read and found some seeds as well. Then the dogs needed walking and then I had some housework that was threatening to kill me if I didn't get it done.
I did get some time in the polytunnel though. So now I am sitting with a nice cup of tea with cream and settling down to read.

WOE: JUDDD Maintenance. Ketogenic PHD.
Start Date: 11 Dec. 2011 Restart 1 Jan 2013
Keen gardener whose spirit has pretty much been broken by repeated droughts followed by recent deluges, alternating with droughts, and a collection of pests that gave me no vegetable or fruit crops at all (literally, not so much as one tomato, a blackcurrant or a single gooseberry). Blight, vine weevil, cutworm, lily beetle, slugs and snails and some bizarre moth I've been unable to identify. I've never known anything quite like the last 2 years.

I have 3 types of clay in my garden so most of the plants are in pots.

And this year's deluges do not bode well for my Spring Garden.

Morning all.

Aitch I take my hat off to you but won't bother with it now at this late stage of the programme. We will probably be moving within the next 2-3 years downsizing. I think even if the soil was good we would be rubbish gardeners barely know the difference between a weed and a plant ha ha.

The big de clutter of the house started yesterday and will hopefully continue.

DD went great yesterday and I decided to invest in some Coconut Oil instead of MCT for bullet proof coffee. Blurb on net says you can use for a multitude of things and claim that it can regulate your metabolism to help with the weight loss. Cooked my steak in it last night and it tasted lush....so watch this space.

UD today YAY...but won't go mad.

Shy, 10lbs in 2 weeks is amazing! Well done.

I'm in the useless gardener brigade. However I have lived for 2 decades in a climate where hardly anything grows well, so I look forward to an eventual move to a warmer climate and hope that gardening will be in my future!

I have moved back to JUDDD since I had success with it a couple of years ago. Yesterday was my first UD, and after this morning's initial dismay at a gain on the scale (duh!), I am excited to do a DD today. Unfortunately social commitments mean I have to so UDs in Wednesday and Saturday, so I'm not sure how to plan my rotations, but one day at a time………

Meeting DD2 today and off to see the movie, "Her" together.

Have a good day whatever you're up to.

Jan
