Sunshine here but snow all around. At the farthest North point of Europe, the Northern Cape.

Food okay, and not over eating. Went on reindeer and dog sleighs yesterday, magical moments.

Only occasional decent Wifi.

Hi all!

Back from being sick, and feeling good again.

Had an appointment at the dermatologist and they removed a pre-cancerous bit on my nose. Scary! I was already worried about the spot on my nose and thankfully it's not worse and thankfully I went to the dermatologist in time! So after that scare, I'm ready for a holiday!

I'm so excited to hear all about Cindy's wonderful trip, and can't wait till she pops in here to give the full report!

TOM is here so I didn't dare get on the scales. I'm being really strict with my food now, the last couple of weeks were on plan but definitely over on 'good' carbs in the form of veggies. And with my gastritis, I just ate what I felt like and I didn't really pay any attention to my macros. So back on track now.

Birthday on Sunday was spent with just in-laws and of course BF, I decided to celebrate properly when I was healthy again and when the sun is out and the garden can be put to good use! So in about 4 to 6 months! Also, I don't want to acknowledge another year has gone by so quickly either, LOL!

My menu today:

B: 2 eggs hardboiled, a dollop of homemade mayo, three small rashers of crispy bacon
L: ham roll ups with lettuce, pickles, mustard and tomato
D: tuna salad on protein bread (like oopsies).

Have a good day everyone!

Hope you continue to enjoy Kissa look forward to where you are back with your experience.

Shy you are doing great and you know that some weeks you don't lose so hopefully Friday dinner won't upset.

Mimosa hope you feeling better soon with the sickness thing.

Nipped home for lunch just to get away from Manager from Hell. Got sore throat and not feeling too brill..hmmm that's what DH had...so hopefully not gonna go into full blown cold...NOOOH.

I made some Granola last night for DH and ate a small handful of flaked almonds...one got stuck in my throat and I was gagging...loads of water, warm water blah blah didn't work...so then it was soft bread, yoghurt, etc etc and yesterdays eating went right out of the window cos of this...and I am mad cos it still didn't totally dislodge it...grrrr. so being extra careful today.

Sun is shining which is great...oops gotta go time to go back to work...xx

Hi all!

Lola, how are you? Hope you didn't get that cold!

The spot the dermatologist treated on my nose now looks really awful. All red and scaly! Yuk. At least he got it and hopefully that's it...

Anyway, only little more than a week to go till my hols! So excited!

I have given up eating dairy, and will continue to not eat dairy for six weeks, to see if this helps with all my health stuff. I can't seem to consistently drop weight and I know that I'm overeating on the cheese. It has to go for now. Hopefully once my gut is healed I'll be able to eat the occasional bit of cheese and cream again. I probably will never be able to eat it every day anymore. Sad.

So anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

I'm visiting the parents in the Netherlands, haven't seen them in ages, so I'm looking forward to that!

My menu today:

B: 2 eggs, 2 bacon
L: salmon, avocado, salad, vinaigrette
D: pork neck steak, herb 'butter' (made from coconut oil, since I had to let the dairy go)

Glad you got that spot treated, Mimosa — but there’s no way to hide your nose while it heals, is there? A leg or something is much less exposed!

Where are you going for your holidays?

Hello, here I am back from Norway, where we did have some goodish sightings of the Northern Lights, but not as good as my friend living in Scotland has been seeing them!

I think you will like Tromso, Chloe, it is a great little town. We went on a trip from there to a place an hour or so away where we went on a sled pulled by reindeers and then Bob drove a dog sled. I could have had a turn but decided not to! Then had a reindeer stew, delicious, though happily not much reindeer, not exactly LC either, but fun. Think it was called Camp Tamok. Will check.

We did enjoy the trip but in all honesty viewing the Lights from a ship is not ideal. Sometimes it was so windy we could barely stand, and in -5 that is not conducive to hanging about or taking photos. My guess is that you will have some good sightings as long as the sky is clear.

Otherwise it was a good trip and we were in a super duper suite so we we felt very spoilt. Food was good, buffets with lots of great fish and meats, though the hot food didn't look that appeal. Evening meals were set menus, good but not enough for the chaps. As a result I haven't come back with loads of extra weight.

Sorry some of you have been having health issues, I managed a slight cold on the trip but am fine again now.

Made it to the gym today too. Good to be home.

Mimosa, that’s interesting! It’s probably a bit soon to say it’s definitely the dairy, but enough to make it worth carrying on with your experiment!

Shy — fantastic (apart from the bad tum!).

Kissa - glad that you enjoyed your trip.

Mimosa: Thank god I kinda escaped the cold phew!! Also I am loving the coconut oil...especially for frying steak. Its lush.

Ailuros: OMG....hope that its something lovely like a facial or Spa Day and not a skydive jump arghh...or maybe you might like that.

When he asked me if it was ok in principle, I said only if it wasn’t a girlie massage spa day . But I know it won’t be anything dangerous, because he’s more protective of me than I am.

Lovely loss Shy, 1st 3 lbs is amazing.

Ailuros, I wonder what it can be? I love a surprise, but that is a long wait.

Down to goal 126 again and now looking to get bit lower before the next holiday.

That will be in early April, a week in Austria with Vicky and her DH along with loads of extended family. I will not be skiing, but I will be eating.

How's tricks Lola?

I must admit I have no idea. I don’t think he’d pick a cookery course; he'd think hot air ballooning and all that kind of thing was too dangerous. Oh well, I’ll find out when we get there.

Ailuros, I'm also on tenterhooks!!!

Kissa, hope all is well and I hope we get to see a few pics here!

Lola, I fry steaks in coconut oil too, but in the expeller pressed, as I don't particularly like the coconutty flavour with my meat...

Shy, I haven't congratulated you on your loss yet: well done you!!!! That is a great result so far!

Everyone else: hope all is well!

So anyone giving up anything for Lent? I'm not religious, but I thought I'd use my no dairy thing to at least see it through until Easter, so I'm giving up something for Lent this year... Never done that before!

My menu today:
B: 2 eggs, 2 bacon
L: tuna, salad, avocado, vinaigrette
D: chicken thighs with a mayo/celery salad mix

xxx

I am giving up approaching 130 pounds as often this lent, lol. No I won't be giving anything up I'm afraid. Unless it is cucumber!

Saw Ibsen's ghosts last night, good but Ibsen. Had a coffee but needed a 'drink'.

8st 12.75lbs today! Very happy and the sun is shining.
